General Joe: Magnolia Ridge Series Page 4

by Alexa Riley

I cry out his name as he grips my hips, moving me up and down on him. One orgasm turns into another and my body is a slave to his commands.

“Say it again, Kayla. Tell me you love me,” he orders.

  “I love you.”

  “Love you too.”

When he kisses me, his mouth devours mine as another orgasm rips through my body. His warm release spills inside of me and I clench around him, wanting every drop of it as deep as I can get. This is our beginning.

I pull my mouth from his, trying to catch my breath and bury my face in his neck. I stay still, keeping him inside of me for as long as possible. I can feel some of his cum leak out between us and I let out a happy sigh.

“You’re living up to the name I gave you.” He laughs as I bury my face in his neck.

“Okay, GI Joe,” I tease back, and he slaps my ass.

We have been kind of going at it like rabbits but we’re making up after being apart. I’m not going to call it lost time because it was us in the making so it wasn’t really lost.

“All right, we have to get off the hard floor. I want to get you dressed before people start showing up and someone gets hurt because they see you naked.” He stands easily with me in his arms.

“I’m rather fond of hard things now.” I wiggle my ass and Joe’s cock is still full and ready inside of me. His jaw tightens and I know he’s trying to control himself from pinning me to a wall.

“Good, because a mattress is the first thing showing up today and we can break it in.” He slowly pulls me off of him and I moan at the loss of his cock. My feet hit the floor and he bends down and grabs his shirt before putting it on me.

“This could be my wedding dress.” I model it with a spin as it falls below my knees.

“At this rate it might be.” He walks over to his bag and takes out some clothes for himself. Mine are pretty much destroyed, but who cares. We are moving at a rather slow place if we want to get some things done today, but God, just being together feels so good.

“I know I said we could get married today but can we wait a few days?” Joe gives me a look that he's not into this idea. “Not that long, but I want to get married here.” I point at the pond. “Actually, right there. I want to look out the window every day and see the place we vowed to be together forever.”

“I think we can do that.” He comes back over to me and brings me close to him.

“What’s coming today? Besides you.” I wink at him and he lifts me off my feet so we’re eye level and I wrap my arms around him.

“Pretty sure you’re going to keep cumming too.” He squeezes my ass and I giggle. “The mattress and a few small things I’m having brought down from my parents’ place. I don't want to get too much from there. I want to pick stuff out together but I figured a mattress, I could handle.”

“You are too old to be sleeping on a floor.” I yelp when he smacks my ass this time. “If you’re going to spank me, at least bend me over something and do it right.”

  “That mouth of yours.”

“You read my letters, you should know you made me into a dirty girl.” When it comes to Joe, all kinds of dirty fantasies stir inside me. It’s easy to put them on paper, especially now that I’m going to live them all.

  “You’re my girl.”

“Forever,” I agree before he seals it with a kiss.

  Two weeks later…

The gazebo is decorated and it’s close to sunset. Our wedding was supposed to be small, but as soon as we told Chief the big news he started inviting everyone he laid eyes on. Kayla thought it was cute, and I didn’t have the heart to tell him to stop. I don’t remember a time when I’ve seen him this happy, so the more the merrier. Barbie and Shaw were a big help with making today perfect, and I know Kayla wouldn’t have gotten the day of her dreams without them.

I walk to the edge of the gazebo and take my place next to the minister as the music begins to play. There are flowers everywhere and bales of hay instead of chairs. It feels simple and perfect, just the way we wanted it, and I can’t believe I’m getting married to the love of my life.

Kayla didn’t want to wait long, and neither did I. We managed to pull this off in two weeks, which is good because I couldn’t have waited another day.

The music gets louder and everyone stands up. In the distance I see Kayla and Chief exit the back of the house and walk towards us. My heart beats louder with every step she takes, bringing her closer to me.

Her dress is strapless and an antique cream color with flowing lace. It was her mother’s and the seamstress in town was able to rush the alterations for us and wouldn’t take a dime for the work. It looks so beautiful on Kayla and I’m so happy that her mother could be here with us in this way.

When I look into Kayla’s eyes, she smiles at me so big I think my heart is going to burst in two. She’s so damn happy she’s nearly bouncing with each step and I feel the same way. This is so beautiful and special, but damn are we excited and ready to have this wedding.

I glance over at Chief and see him wiping away tears as they approach the altar. We know he’s just as happy as we are too, but we’ve all got Ben and his wife in the back of our minds. I think today is hitting him hard, but soon we’ll be celebrating and there won’t be time for tears.

Without thinking, I step forward and pull Chief into a hug. “I’ve got her now, but we’re not going anywhere,” I whisper to him, and I feel his arms come around my back.

“Thank you, son,” he says to me and I hear him breathe a sigh of relief.

I pat him on the back and then lean back to look at him and see he’s finally got a smile on his face. He turns to Kayla and kisses her on the cheek before he steps back and answers the minister’s question about giving the bride away.

Finally I have a hold of Kayla and I tighten my grip on her. “You’re not getting away ever again.”

“My feet are firmly planted next to yours.” She winks at me and before I can stop myself I lean forward and give her a kiss.

Kayla giggles and I hear the minister clear his throat and lean towards us. “That part comes later.”

“Just making sure it sticks,” I say as I straighten up and wink back at Kayla.

The minister talks about love and commitment while we exchange vows and rings. I don’t hear much of it because I’m too distracted by Kayla. She’s glowing right in front of me, and I swear I think she’s already pregnant. We won’t know for another week if she is for sure, but I have my suspicions.

  “You may kiss the bride.”

The words snap me out of my daydream and I scoop Kayla up in my arms. Her bouquet goes flying as she wraps her arms around me and the crowd erupts into cheers when I plant a kiss on her that is probably better reserved for our bedroom. In that moment though I don’t have one single care because now she’s mine, and I want everyone in this town to damn well know it.

Music begins to play and the guests begin to mingle while we make our way over to the tent we had set up for the reception.

“I can’t believe it,” Kayla whispers to me as we stand in the gazebo for a second just taking a moment alone.

  “It’s about time.”

She playfully slaps my chest and shakes her head. “About time? It’s been two weeks. You’re lucky I didn’t make you wait any longer.”

“Please, there’s no way you could have waited.” I put my hand on her hip and then trace my thumb over her belly. “Any longer and we might risk you showing.”

I wink at her and she shrugs. “Like you wouldn’t have been happy to have the whole town see me knocked up.”

“I plan on putting you on a parade float just as soon as I can. I’m ready to let all the men in town know to keep away from what’s mine.” I look around with a glare and Kayla laughs.

She grabs my face and turns me to look at her. “I am yours, today more than ever.” She goes up on her tiptoes and I lean down halfway to meet her lips. “N
ow let’s go. I’m ready to cut that cake.”

I pick her up again and carry her out of the gazebo and into the tent. The dancing has already started and we are swept up in it with the crowd. People are laughing and having a great time, and I see Barbie and Shaw slow dancing in the corner. They can’t keep their hands off each other, but I can’t say I don’t know how that feels with my woman.

If it were up to me I would have eloped, but seeing Kayla do the electric slide with Chief while holding a plate filled with wedding cake is not only one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, but the sweetest.

We spend the whole night laughing and dancing and it’s more perfect than I could have planned. It’s everything she ever wanted and that’s all I ever want to give her.

  One year later…

“Are you going to be good for Grandpa?” I ask my little Sophie-bug. She opens one eye and peeks up at me before she opens the other and gives me a big gummy smile. “It’s okay if you want to give him hell.”

“I think I can handle a little girl that likes to cause trouble,” Dad says dryly.

He’s freshly retired now and Joe took his place at the station. Now Dad can babysit whenever I need him to, not that I’ve been willing to give Sophie up for long. I always knew motherhood and being a wife was my calling, and since getting married and having a baby, it’s come true.

“I’ve calmed down.” I kiss Sophie’s head again.

“You staged a picket outside of the Piggly Wiggly a few months ago because they stopped selling the beef jerky you like.”

  “I got it back, didn't I?” I say smugly.

I was eight months pregnant and they stopped carrying my favorite craving. It was cruel and I let them know it. It also didn't look so good with two pregnant girls marching back and forth in front of their store. Okay, I marched, Barbie sat in a lawn chair since her feet were really swollen. Thank god they went back to a normal size because I was worried there for a second.

Joe only chuckles. He came down and made me quit, but I was surprised it took him so long to get there. I thought he'd be there a few minutes after I arrived with the signs, but it took him two hours before he showed up and told me to get my sexy ass in the truck. I huffed about it, but when I got in the truck I saw why it took him two hours. He’d gone to the city and bought the jerky from every place he could find it. I was stocked up for months, but I still got the town of Magnolia Springs their jerky back because I wasn't sharing my stash.

“Come kiss our baby girl goodbye. I want to get to Pappy’s before they run out of wings and I have to break out my signs and start another picket.”

Joe comes over and takes Sophie from my arms. He kisses her chubby cheeks before handing her over to Dad.

“I love you, baby girl, but I love wings too.” Joe snags my hand and pulls me out of the house before I can go in for more kisses. I tend to get a little carried away. This is the first time we’re leaving her for more than a couple hours. Dad will pop over almost every day and watch her while I wash clothes or run to the store or something. Tonight we are going out to dinner and then home for some uninterrupted alone time.

“She’s fine,” Joe says, and I’m not sure if he’s reassuring me or himself as we make our way to the truck.

“I know. Dad raised me and look how great I turned out.” I give Joe a giant overdone smile.

“Right.” He lifts me by my hips and puts me into the truck.

“I’m glad we agree on that,” I say when he hops in and we take off.

“Maybe we’ll make another one tonight.”

“After my wings.” I point at him. He better not be taking a detour before dinner.

“After your wings,” he agrees as he drives to the small bar that sits on the edge of town. I’m out the truck door before he barely gets it parked and he comes after me.

“I’m going to spank your ass if you’re not careful.”

“You can do anything you want to my ass after I eat.” A few people turn and look our way. “Hey, Larry!” I wave and he glares at me just like he always does. “I see you’re chipper as ever.”

Joe snakes his arm around me and pulls me to him. I know I’m going to be in trouble for talking about ass play, but he started it with the spanking comment. It’s not my fault my voice carries.

Larry opens his mouth like he wants to say something but closes it quickly since Joe is here. Your husband being the chief of police really has its perks. I have no doubt Joe is giving Larry a dirty look right now.

He pulls the door open and takes me over to a booth. I slip my coat off and hear Joe growl. “Bunny.”

“What?” I pretend to be innocent as I drop down into my seat. “I only just fit into this skirt again.” The baby weight is almost off and it’s the one from the night he took my virginity. The same night we made Sophie.

“I thought I ruined it.” He sits down in the booth across from me but keeps his glare. He did ruin it, but I ordered another one online.

The server walks up to our table, saving me from answering Joe. I don’t recognize the guy so he must be new.

“Hey, I’m Logan.” He introduces himself to me.

“I’m Kayla.” I start to offer my hand but Joe grabs it.

“I’m the husband,” Joe cuts in.

“Right.” Logan doesn't even look Joe’s way. “What can I get you?”

“Root beer in the bottle with two dozen wings.”

“Same,” Joe clips, not sounding as excited about the wings as me.

  “Any sauce?”

“Nope.” I reach into my purse, pulling out a bottle of ranch, and Joe shakes his head. “What? Their ranch sucks.” I look to Logan. “Don't tell Pappy I said that.”

“I promise.” He winks at me before turning to leave.

“That mother—” I keep a tight hold on his hand so he can’t chase after the new guy who doesn't know better.

“Don’t ruin this for me,” I hiss. Joe leans back in his seat, pulling out his phone with his other hand. “What are you doing?” Joe is not one to play on his phone and I’m the only person he’ll text, period.

“I’m on a date with my wife. Not killing people.”

“The night is young,” I sing-song.

“That is true. I’ve got all kinds of plans for you and I.” My body heats, wondering what he’s got in store for us.

A few moments later a to-go bag lands on our table and I look over at Joe. “What the—”

“Thanks, Pappy,” Joe says, slipping out of the booth and dropping the money onto the table. “Better grab your ranch.”

“Why? What are you—” I’m out of the booth instantly and I know if he could throw me over his shoulder he would, but we both know I don’t have panties on. I grab my ranch and coat just as he pulls me out of the bar.

“He was only being friendly.” I try to reason with Joe but I know it’s a lost cause. I can’t even be mad because I enjoy Joe’s possessiveness. Tonight is going to be so good. Wings and wild, hard sex. What more could a girl ask for?

  Epilogue

  Joe

  10 years later…

All week everyone has been reminding me my big fortieth birthday is coming up. Everyone except Kayla.

I’ve told her for the past month not to do a surprise party. I don’t want a big production. I just want to spend time with her and the kids like any other day. Maybe a night alone would be nice, but no party.

The fact that she hasn’t even once mentioned my birthday to me is telling me she’s planning one. She thinks she’s sneaky, but the sneakier she tries to be, the more obvious she is. I caught her whispering to Barbie about a cake last night at Sophie’s soccer practice.

I could get mad and make a big deal about her doing what I specifically asked her not to, but honestly, I don’t think I could stand to see the look of disappointment on her face. So I’m going to suck it up and put on a smile for her because I know she’s probably gone to
a lot of trouble to plan this out. Even if I didn’t want it.

“Are you ready?” Shaw asks when he comes in the house.

“Yeah,” I sigh, pushing off the couch and following him out the front door. “So are you going to tell me about the surprise, or do I just have to wait?”

He laughs and shakes his head. “Oh, there’s no way in hell I’m ruining this for Kayla or Barbara. They’ve given me strict instructions.”

I nod as I get in his truck and we drive towards downtown. Shaw called me last night and said he wanted me to check the security in the back of Barbie’s bookstore for him. Shaw was the one that had it installed, so I knew there was no real reason for me to go with him other than an excuse to get me out of the house.

When we pull up to the front of the bookstore I jump out and see the place has all the lights off. “Shouldn’t we go around back?” I ask, and Shaw winks at me.

“Nah, we’ll go in the front.”

He unlocks the door and walks in first. I follow in after him and just as I step inside, the lights come on and everyone shouts “surprise!”

I’m shocked for a second because I don’t see Kayla, but I do see a ton of the guys I served with in the Marines.

“Jacob?” I call out and he comes running up to me and we hug. “What the hell are you doing here?”

“Your wife, man, she got all of us together.” He turns around and I see our whole group of friends from across the country made the trip just for this and I can’t believe it.

“Ramon, no way!” I hug him too, still not believing that they’re all here. “How the hell did my wife get you out of that cabin in Alaska?”

“She didn’t give me an option,” he says, slapping me on the back.

One by one all the guys give me hugs and I realize the bookstore is packed with people who have meant so much to me. Shaw and Barbie are over in the corner and he tips his beer to me as I’m swept up in another hug.
