Game of Love : A Mafia Romance Page 53

by Khardine Gray

Everything all worked out and now I was looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.

I swooped her up and headed up to our bedroom. My lips never leaving hers for a second. Not even for a breath.

I set her down in the center of the bed and we kissed the clothes off each other.

Wild and raw, but sensual. That was us.

I’d never experienced anything like it. She was like a drug to me.

I craved her more and more every time I was with her. Every second of every day. Every minute.

I didn’t know it was possible to feel this way. Different to how I’d been with anybody, not just Claire.

It was different and I knew I was one damn lucky guy to have what I had with Jia.

I might not be the most romantic person. I might not have come from the most loving background but I believed that you knew true love when you found it.

It was what I had now.

I kissed and tasted her all over, loving the sight of her writhe against the pleasure I gave her with my mouth. My lips showing her how I adored every part of her body.

Her lips on mine, my lips on her neck, her breasts, her tight taught pink nipples, the valley between her breasts and the flat plane of her stomach, right down to her pretty pussy.

Her body welcomed me as I plunged into her, searing into her with the length of my cock, making her mine all over again.

  Mine.

I meant every word I’d said when I told her I wanted her. She was what I wanted. She was what I needed. Only she could do this to me. Make me get lost in passion.

It called to both of us and we answered.

The carnal rhythm that took us sent me over the edge of reason and reality.

Lost and trapped in passions force and will, we moved together.

Me pumping into her and her moving her hips against me in the same wild way showing me that she wanted me too.

I already knew we wouldn’t last long going at that pace. It would only be a matter of time before we burned right the hell out. Burnt, scorched clean.

The burn out came as we climaxed.

We both cried out from the intensity and she arched into my chest, head pressing back into the pillows as she came. The walls of her sweet pussy tightened around my cock like a vise and the orgasm finished me off too.

  We were both breathing hard.

Breathing so hard I couldn’t catch my breath. I’d just caught it when she reached up to kiss me. That just made me want her all over again.

“I love you,” she breathed against my lips.

Every time she said those words it got me, because I remembered the first time I told her and how I wished it could have been under different circumstances. I remembered how I nearly died at her father’s hand and how I wished I could have one more chance to tell her how I felt.

Every chance I’d gotten since then was beautiful.

Now was no different. Except now the question I planned to ask her in a few days slipped into my mind.

“I love you Jia.” I nuzzled my nose against hers.

It was time now. I couldn’t wait for a few days or another minute.

The same way you knew when you had true love, the same way you knew when you should do something as important as what I was about to.

I moved away from her and she pretended to pout, then reached back for me.

“No, there’s no way you’re going back on that call to Wes or whoever.” She giggled.

“There’s no way Wes or whoever will have any of my attention with you around.”

“Then come back here. I want more,” she purred and a hum of satisfaction slipped from her lips when I ran my fingers over the tight creamy skin of her stomach.

“You’ll get more,” I promised. “I have something to ask you.”

“Yes.” She nodded vigorously and I laughed.

“Baby you don’t know what I’m going to ask you.”

“Whatever it is, it’s a yes from me.” She pulled the sheet over her breasts and sat up nestling her hair over her shoulder.

  I hoped it was yes.

I pulled my boxers back on deciding I’d do this properly, even in my limited clothing. The original plan was at the restaurant on the beach she loved surrounded by candlelight.

  This felt better.

Jia looked on in curiosity as I moved to the night stand and pulled out a little velvet box.

She didn’t see the box properly until I came around to her side of the bed. Then she bolted up and her mouth dropped open.

I got down on one knee and she covered her mouth.

  “Xander…”

  “Yes, baby.”

“What are you doing? I mean it looks like you’re doing something and I think I know what it is, but please don’t let that be another necklace. Not that I didn’t love the last necklace.”

She always babbled when she got nervous and her cheeks would flush with that soft rose color.

“What do you want it to be?” I decided to tease.

She shook her head and blinked. “The thing my heart wants the most.”

  “What’s that?”

  “You.”

  Thank God for that.

I snapped the box open and she brought her hands closer to her heart when her beautiful eyes saw the princess cut diamond ring I had made for her. Anya helped me design it.

When I decided I’d do this I couldn’t think of anyone better to take ring shopping.

From the look of Jia I could tell I’d done the right thing. her eyes brimmed with tears.

  “Xander…”

I took her hand and held it. “Jia… I’ve said you’ve had me from hello and I meant that. I promised your father I’d take care of you but I always planned to do that. I dreamed of us having happy days together, the kind you get lost in. But lost in the way you feel because it’s so unreal. I had a lot of years where I was lost in the worse of ways. Lost in darkness. Then I found you and you had me lost in you. Lost in love with you. No one compares to you. It would be the greatest honor and privilege to me, if you were my wife. Please be mine.”

I might not be the best romantic, but that sounded pretty damn good to me. My heart took over and did it all. It spoke to her, speaking words from my soul and everything that made me, me.

My heart soared when she nodded.

“Yes… of course it’s a yes.” She cupped my face. “I was lost too and then I found you. I was right there with you lost in love. But you did more for me. You saved me in so many ways, Xander Cage. You saved me and it’s me who is honored and privileged to have you. Thank you for not giving up on me when you could have.”

“That was never going to happen.” I nodded firmly and slipped the ring on her finger.

We both looked at it and she held it up. The diamond sparkled against the light and she laughed.

She laughed and threw her arms around me.

When our lips met for another kiss everything felt different.

It felt more like we belonged to each other.

  But… we always did.

  Always… right from hello.

She was always the queen of my heart.
