But she’d said they could only be friends, so his stomach turned at the thought that she might still be sticking to that.
“So, it turns out my sister really doesn’t have an issue with us seeing one another,” she said quickly, sounding slightly nervous. “In fact, she thought we’d be perfect together. So, if you were still wanting to ask me out or something, that would actually be okay.”
Oh, he wanted to ask her out. Over and over again.
But right now, he wanted to kiss her.
He stepped closer and pulled her into him. “Maddie, would you like to go on a real date sometime?” he murmured against her lips.
“Only if it includes the outdoors and the night sky and hours of just being together,” she said, moving even closer, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Where have you been all my life?” he asked with a smile, touching her flushed, cool cheek.
“Waiting right here while you dated the wrong girl,” she said with a grin before kissing him, hard, her passion making his heart soar as he held her tight and deepened the kiss.
He wouldn’t be letting this amazing catch go anytime soon.
