Adventures of the Aviatrix Page 16

by Callista Hawkes

“Goddamn it.” You groan, trying to reach up to nurse what is sure to be quite a lump, but finding your wrists are tied to the chair you are sitting on. Tentatively opening your eyes, you take in your surroundings. Your heart skips a beat as your vision clears and you see riveted deck plates and bulkheads. While there are no windows, you can feel the rhythmical movement of the deck beneath you and realize with a start that you are aboard a ship at sea. Fear threatens to overwhelm you as you look around you, the smell of oil and stale sweat filling your nostrils. There’s nothing or no one else in the room and from the lack of windows, you guess you are in the ship’s hold. Your ankles as well as your wrists are bound to the chair and while you strain against them, they are tight and secure. Taking a deep breath, you consider your options.

  Shout out

Wait for your captors to reveal themselves

With a nervous glance at the mouth of the alleyway, you crouch behind the bins. Moments later, footsteps echo along the alley and you curse yourself for not keeping to the busy streets. The footsteps slowly draw closer and you can feel your heart thumping in your chest, suddenly feeling like a trapped animal. Wishing you had a pistol or even a knife, you glance around for something you could use as a club. Nothing. Shit. The footsteps are louder still. He must be nearly upon you. His shadow falls upon the cracked paving before you and you tense up. Your stalker steps before you and you glance fearfully up into his shadowy face, the tip of his cigarette glowing as he inhales.

“Elyse! I thought it was you.” He grins, snatching the cigarette from his lips and blowing out a plume of smoke. You blink in surprise, instantly recognizing a voice from the past.

“Giuseppe D’Abruzzo!” You gasp, climbing to your feet and clutching at your chest before playfully punching him on the arm. “Goddamn it, you scared the hell out of me.”

“Sorry, sweetheart.” He chuckles, tossing the cigarette away. “But what in the hell are you doing in Rio? Last I heard, you were lying on a beach in the Caribbean somewhere.”

“Pretty much.” You grin. “It’s a long story. Damn, you haven’t changed a bit.” It’s true, tall, dark and handsome, Giuseppe is almost a cliché. He’d been your contact with the D’Abruzzo family back in the prohibition days. It was only five or six years ago, but it feels like another life.

“You have.” He takes a step back as his eyes rove. “You’ve become a real knockout!”

“Knock it off, you charmer.” You reply, feeling yourself blush before swiftly changing the subject. “So what are you doing here?”

“Tracking down some slippery son of a bitch who stole some old map from some powerful people.” Giuseppe tells you. Your eyes widen.

“Not a man by the name of Noah Wheatley by any chance?” You reply.

“That’s the guy!” He nods incredulously. “How’d you know him?”

“He owes me a thousand bucks.” You growl.

“Looks like the sorry bastard has got a world of hurt coming his way.” He grins. “Say, how about we track him down together? It’ll be just like old times.”

  Sure, makes sense

  You work better alone

Clenching your jaw, you stride purposefully towards the doorway.

“Listen, pal…” You growl as you step before him before your tirade dies in an instant. “Well, I’ll be damned! Giuseppe D’Abruzzo! What the hell are you doing here?”

“I was about to ask you the same thing.” Giuseppe grins. “I thought I recognized you!” The same infectious smile, the same twinkling eyes. He’s tall and athletically built, with dark hair and tanned skin. It must be five or six years since you last saw him and he’s still a handsome son of a bitch with the same swaggering self-confidence his knowledge of that affords.

“I’m tracking a man who owes me a thousand bucks.” You tell him. “A slime ball by the name of Noah Wheatley.” He blinks in surprise.

“Is that a fact?” He replies, his smile vanishing.

“You’ve heard of him?” You ask.

“I’m looking for the same guy!”

“You are, huh?” You reply. “So, what’s the D’Abruzzo family’s interest in him?”

“Took something that didn’t belong to him.” He replies. “Some old map. The people it belongs to didn’t want to involve the cops, so they came to us instead.”

“A little cloak and dagger for a bunch of museum types.” You reply, arching an eyebrow.

“Museum?” Giuseppe replies. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“It’s not the museum?” You blink. “Then who sent you?”

“Never you mind.” He tells you. “Say, seeming as we’re after the same guy, you wanna work together? I’ll make sure he gives you your thousand bucks.” He cracks his knuckles and grins.

  Sure, makes sense

  You work better alone

“No offence, but not this time.” You tell Giuseppe. He frowns but shrugs his shoulders.

“Suit yourself.” He replies. “Well, guess I’ll see ya around, kid.”

“Good luck, Giuseppe.” You smile, watching as he turns and walks away.

As you resume walking the bustling streets of Rio, you begin to question exactly what you were thinking, chasing Noah halfway across a continent and losing your plane in the process. In a city of one and a half million people, it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack. Perhaps to continue this fool’s errand is pure folly and you would be better served working out just how you are going to stump up enough cash to get back to the Caribbean.

  Give up

  Keep going

“I guess so.” You reply noncommittally. “You got any leads?”

“I’ve been asking around town, greasing a few palms.” Giuseppe nods. “A guy matching Noah Wheatley’s description was spotted at a hotel not far from here. I was on my way to pinch him when I saw you.”

“Good, so let’s go pinch him already.” You reply impatiently.

You walk through the bustling streets, the air sticky and humid.

“So, how’s your sister?” You ask, making conversation.

“Valentina?” Giuseppe scratches his chin. “Same as always, cruel, ruthless, vindictive. She’ll make a good capo one day. What about you? You miss making a dishonest living?”

“A little.” You admit. “I always enjoyed that rush of excitement, wondering if the cops would be waiting for me every time I landed on Lake Michigan and moored on that little jetty outside Chicago.”

“Bet you miss the money too.” Giuseppe grins.

“That too.” You admit with a wry smile.

“Here’s the hotel.” He nods at a building ahead with a fine colonial façade, four stories tall with small balconies outside each tall window. You both step into the lobby and Giuseppe approaches the concierge. You see him whisper conspiratorially in his ear and slip him some cash. The concierge nods, slipping the money into his pocket before consulting the register. He murmurs a response and Giuseppe smiles before turning to you.

“Room 309.” He grins. “What do you say we pay your old friend a visit?”

“He’s no friend of mine.” You growl. “C’mon, let’s go.”

You take the elevator up to the third floor and walk purposefully along the hotel corridor, glancing at the brass room number plates on each door.

  “You carrying?” You ask Giuseppe.

“Of course.” He grins, patting his jacket under his left arm.

As you reach room 309, you step forward and rap your knuckles on the door. You hear footsteps approach within, followed by a click as the door is unlocked, the hinges creaking as it swings open. Noah, wearing a hotel bath robe appears in the doorway, his eyes widening and his jaw dropping as he sees you.

“Elyse!” He gasps. “What the hell are you doing here?” His gaze flicks to the formidable frame of Giuseppe behind you and he blanches.

“Listen Wheatley,” Giuseppe growls, pushing his way into the room. “I want the map and the lady wants her thousand
bucks.”

“I… I don’t know about any map.” Noah replies weakly. Giuseppe glances at you and rolls his eyes before stepping forward and grabbing him by the throat. He marches him across the room and rams him through the glazed doors and out onto the shallow balcony overlooking the street. Pushing him against the railing, Noah’s face is contorted with fear.

“No, no!” He rasps, clawing at Giuseppe’s hand. “Please.”

“Start talkin’, pal or they’ll be washing you off the street.” He growls.

“I don’t have it.” He replies, his wide eyes flitting from the mobster to you and back again.

“Throw him off.” You tell Giuseppe with disgust but hoping he knows it’s a bluff. You might despise the man, but you don’t wish him dead. Giuseppe thrusts him over the railing, his arms flapping wildly.

“Wait, wait!” He shrieks. “I can get you the map. And the compass. And the money. I swear!” Giuseppe glances at you and you nod. He pulls Noah back into the room and pushes him down onto a couch in the corner.

  “Start talkin’.” Giuseppe growls.

“I’ve passed the map and the compass to some Germans.” Noah tells you, reaching up to massage his throat. “The needle points to something to the east. A powerful artifact lost in the mists of time. The Germans have the resources to help me find it.”

“You don’t even know what this artifact is?” You ask him.

“Not entirely.” He winces. “I have a few ideas, but they’re mainly hopes and wishful thinking.” He glances up at Giuseppe. “Though the fact my former associates have sent a hood all the way to Rio to retrieve the map makes me wonder if my suspicions are correct.”

“Enough with the fairy tales.” Giuseppe growls. “Where are the Germans?”

“I don’t know, but we leave on a ship, the Herkules, tomorrow morning.” Noah replies. “We can meet at the docks tomorrow morning, say nine?” You laugh humorlessly.

“Not that I don’t trust you, but I think we’ll stay right here.” You tell him firmly. His shoulders sag and he nods.

As the afternoon turns to evening, you call up room service for some food. Once you’ve eaten, Giuseppe locks the door and yawns.

“Better call it a day.” He announces before glancing at you. “You take the bed, sweetheart. I’ll take the couch and this slippery son of a bitch can sleep on the floor.”

  Sounds good

Suggest that you share the bed with Giuseppe

“Okay.” You nod, picking up a pillow and tossing it over to Giuseppe. He catches it and lays it down on the couch while Noah glances ruefully at the hard floorboards. You slip between the sheets and undress down to your underwear before rolling over and swiftly drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, you stir and climb out of bed, stretching out your arms. Noah looks a little bleary-eyed and you guess he had an uncomfortable night’s sleep on the floor. You hear a shower running in the bathroom and a few moments later it stops and Giuseppe emerges, a towel wrapped around his waist.

“C’mon sweetheart.” He grins, looking far more well rested. “Let’s go get paid.” He glances at Noah with disdain. “Do we really need to bring this asshole with us?”

  Take Noah with you

  Leave him behind

“If I can trust you not to get fresh, you can share the bed with me.” You tell Giuseppe before nodding at Noah. “Let this asshole take the couch.”

“I’ll be a perfect gentleman.” He drawls with a cocky grin.

“You’d better.” You reply. Giuseppe glances at Noah.

“Remember, I sleep with one eye open and a gun under my pillow, pal.” He growls. “You try anything in the night, it’ll be the last thing you ever do.” Noah blanches and nods.

After switching the lights off, you all strip to your underwear and you slip between the sheets. Noah shifts a little, trying to get comfortable on the couch while the bed creaks as Giuseppe joins you. You feel him move closer, his body pressing against your back before he throws his arm over you. Finding his warmth comforting, you don’t object and soon drift off to sleep.

You stir from your slumber. The room is still in darkness and you wonder what awoke you. You are still wrapped in Giuseppe’s embrace with his arm draped around your midriff. As you shift your weight slightly, your eyes widen as you feel the unmistakable warmth of his hard cock pressed against the small of your back.

  Object vehemently

  Tease him

“Get the fuck away from me.” You growl.

“Sorry.” Giuseppe whispers, pulling away. “What can I say, I’m lying in bed next to a beautiful dame who’s in nothing but her underwear. Bound to make a guy feel a little amorous.” You roll over to face him, seeing his teeth glinting in the darkness as he grins back at you.

“Ain’t gonna happen, wiseguy.” You tell him firmly. “Go get yourself a cold shower or something.”

“Playin’ hard to get, eh?” He chuckles. “Okay, but you can’t blame a guy for tryin’.”

“Just get some sleep, Giuseppe.” You sigh before rolling back over.

The next morning, you stir and climb out of bed, stretching out your arms. Noah looks a little bleary-eyed and you guess the couch is as uncomfortable as it looks. You can hear the shower running in the bathroom. A few moments later it stops and Giuseppe emerges, a towel wrapped around his waist.

“Morning sweetheart.” He grins, his rejection during the night apparently forgotten. “Time to go get paid.” He glances at Noah with disdain. “Do we really need to bring this asshole with us?”

  Take Noah with you

  Leave him behind

“We’ve got everything we need from him.” You nod. “Let’s tie him up and leave him here. By the time housekeeping find him, we should have cracked a few heads and got what we came for.”

“I like your thinking.” Giuseppe grins. “C’mon, let’s go.”

A few minutes later, you are both dressed and a forlorn looking Noah is sitting on the couch with his hands tied behind his back.

“See you around, Noah.” You flash him a smile before blowing him a kiss. He glares back at you as you step out of the room and lock the door behind you.

You take a cab to the harbor. The docks are a hive of activity, with cranes unloading crates onto trucks while the dock workers scurry about around them. You make your way along the quayside peering up at the names of the various cargo ships.

“There it is!” You point at a smaller vessel just ahead with ‘Herkules’ emblazoned on the nameplate on her bow. To her stern, the red flag of Nazi Germany with a black swastika against a white disc flutters in the breeze.

“Your pal’s got some fine friends.” Giuseppe comments dryly. Checking that no one is watching, you climb a gangplank and step aboard.

  “What’s the plan?” You whisper.

“We find one of the crew, knock him about a little until he tells us where the map is.” Giuseppe shrugs.

“What about my thousand bucks?” You murmur.

“I dunno, you take this compass I guess.” He replies.

“Halt!” A voice growls behind you. You heart sinks and you both turn slowly around. A man wearing the black uniform of an SS officer stands before you, a silenced pistol in his hand. He has a square jaw, thin lips and pale blue eyes which are narrowed as he looks from you to Giuseppe and back again.

“Sorry mac, looks like we boarded the wrong boat.” Giuseppe grins, taking a step towards him. “Our mistake, we’ll be leaving, eh?”

“Nein.” The SS officer replies, the pistol jerking in his hand with a muffled click. Giuseppe clutches his chest, staring down at his bloodied fingers in disbelief before toppling forward onto the deck.

“Wait!” You shout out as he turns the gun on you. There is a faint cruel smile on his face as he pulls the trigger again…

  THE END

Go back a few moments and rethink yours actions

Smiling in the darkness, you gently push back against him, hearing a
barely audible grunt of surprise. After a moment, you push back against him again, more firmly this time. Giuseppe’s hand drifts up to cup a breast through your bra, giving it a playful squeeze. Suppressing a giggle, you push back against him once more. Encouraged, he thrusts back against you, rubbing himself against your panty-clad buttocks. His lips brush against the smooth skin of your shoulder as he slowly trails kisses up towards your neck. Conscious that Noah is sleeping just a few feet away, you bite your lower lip to stifle a moan of pleasure.

“You like that, huh?” Giuseppe murmurs in your ear.

“Shhh.” You giggle as he slides your bra strap off your shoulder and slips your right breast out of the cup. You stiffen as his fingers squeeze your soft mound, lightly pinching the engorged nipple. He is grinding himself against you now, the faint squeak of the bed springs seemingly amplified by the silence.

“I seem to remember you warning me off.” Giuseppe whispers.

“A woman’s prerogative.” You chuckle. “Now get me naked before I change my mind again.”

“Yes, ma’am.” He smirks, swiftly unfastening your bra and tugging down your panties. As you wriggle out of your underwear, Giuseppe takes you back into his embrace, his rigid cock pressed back against your buttocks. He slips his hand down between your thighs and again you have to suppress a moan as his fingertips find your wet slit.

“Mmmm, yes.” You whisper as he begins to work them up and down, tracing the length of your furrow. “Oh that feels good.”

“I’m just getting started, sweetheart.” He murmurs, his fingers working urgently at your pussy while he grinds himself against you. Even with the fan stirring the air, the combination of your exertions and the nighttime Rio humidity has your bodies dewy with perspiration. You throw back the bed sheet, a low moan escaping your lips as Giuseppe’s fingers continue to work you towards your climax. Clasping your hand to your chest, you claw at a breast, roughly pulling and pinching at a nipple as you try desperately to remain silent. As your gaze falls on Noah’s slumbering form across the room, you notice his eyes glinting in the gloom. He’s watching you! While your initial instinct is to angrily tell him to look someplace else, you have to admit to feeling a thrill of excitement at feeling his eyes on you. Another thought enters your lust-crazed mind as you wonder what it would be like to have two men inside you at the same time.
