He grinned, looking oddly lighthearted, and she realized she’d never seen him without that cynical cloud hanging over him. “Some prisons are worth it. I think I’ve had enough adventure to last me a lifetime. Oh, and I forgot to tell you something, Marguerite.”
“You did?”
“Yes. I’m crazy about you.”
She laughed, a warm surge of hope and happiness bubbling up inside. “There’s a lot to be said for certain forms of insanity,” she murmured, sinking back against him. “I’m crazy about you, too.”
