First Love: A Single Dad Second Chance Romance Page 12

by Amy Brent

“Yes, Brandon. Keep going. Just like that. Oh my, holy hell. Don’t stop. Don’t stop. Don’t stop.”

He peppered my neck in kisses as stars burst behind my eyes. My back arched into his hand as my pussy gripped down onto his fingers, and I pulled his lips down onto mine while he swallowed my moans. My body shivered underneath him, my juices pouring onto his hand as my back dropped down to the couch.

Then, it happened. That slow-growing guilt choked my throat.

  “Get off,” I whispered.

  “Hmm?”

  “Get off me,” I said.

His eyes studied mine, no doubt seeing the panic rising in them. He quickly slid from between my legs, and then he offered me his hand. I knocked it away, sitting up as I felt my breath coming in quick spurts.

  It happened again.

I’d allowed another man access to my body, a man who wasn’t Carl.

  “Oh, no,” I breathed.

“Melissa, listen to me. Can you hear my voice?” Brandon asked.

“No, no, no, no, no,” I whispered.

“Melissa, I need to know you can hear me.”

  “Yes,” I choked out.

I could feel the tears streaming down my face as I curled up on the couch. I could feel my body shaking as images of Carl bombarded my mind. Me in my wedding dress. The tears he cried as I walked down the aisle. The way he held my hand as I gave birth to our daughter. I’d desecrated our home with the touch of another man. I smelled the scent of cologne that wasn’t his underneath my fingertips.

Just that quickly, I’d breached the agreement Brandon and I had set in place only two days ago, and suddenly my quiet cries began aching sobs.

“Melissa, it’s all right. Just let it out.”

I could feel Brandon sit down next to me, but I scurried away. I tucked myself into the corner of the couch as I soaked my hands with my tears. What the fuck was I doing? Why the hell couldn’t I control myself? I couldn’t keep doing this with him. I had to find another doctor. I had to get myself under control.

I couldn’t keep going down this path.

“I’m going to wrap my arms around you, all right?” he asked.

  “Okay,” I said breathlessly.

  “All right, here I come.”

His strong arms wrapped around me as he pulled me into his chest. I grasped the fabric of his shirt and sobbed into his body as he pulled me into his lap. The guilt was wafting bile up my throat as I began to heave, and I felt Brandon massaging the back of my neck as I tried to take deep breaths through my nose.

“That’s it. Deep breaths. You’re fine, you’re safe, and it’s only us.”

  “I’m so sorry.”

“You have nothing to be sorry for,” he said soothingly.

  “I’m so brok—”

“Don’t you even finish that statement, Melissa. You are not broken. You are grieving. We have a history, and I’m your doctor. It’s made us muddle things a bit. You’re not broken, and you most certainly have not backtracked, so don’t think it for one second,” he said.

  “I threw myself at you.”

“And I caught you willingly in my arms. Nothing is wrong. You are safe. Just take deep breaths.”

I slowly relaxed into his body as my sobs finally cleared. My body ached with guilt and resentment for my own life. I buried my face into the crook of his neck as he held me close, and I simply tried to digest the guilt I was feeling.

After all, that’s what he would’ve had me do in one of our sessions.

“Do you want to talk about it?” he asked.

  “No,” I whispered.

“I don’t feel good leaving you like this,” he said.

“But you have to. You have Max,” I said.

“He’s with my mom. I don’t have to get him until tomorrow afternoon. Where’s Sarah?”

  “With Carl’s parents,” I whimpered.

“You’ve done nothing wrong, Melissa. I need you to hear me when I tell you this. The things you felt and the things you wanted to do, no matter if they were with me or another man, they’re things you naturally want as a human. As a woman. The guilt takes time to work through, but I need you to hear me when I tell you that you have nothing to feel guilty for. You are breaking no vows or promises to anyone by indulging something that makes you feel good.”

“When does it go away?” I asked.

“The more you allow yourself to indulge in a life you’ve rejected because of your loneliness, the less the guilt has an impact. You’re used to being intimate with Carl. Not another man. Processing the fact that you’re doing this with someone else takes time just like processing that Carl’s gone takes time. But it’s actually allowing yourself to accept the reality that allows you to cope, which slowly alters the chemical reactions your body initiates.”

“How did you get so smart?” I asked.

“I suppose it’s that expensive college education I got way back in the day.”

I giggled, snuggling into him as I breathed a sigh of relief. I could breathe, and I wasn’t shaking. My joints hurt, and my eyes were sore, but there was something inside of me that I couldn’t deny.

That I didn’t want to deny.

No matter how much it reinforced the fact that Carl was gone.

“Please don’t leave just yet,” I said, whispering.

“I wasn’t planning on it. I’ll stay as long as you like,” he said.

  “Will you stay the night?”

I felt him look down at me, and I met his gaze with my own. He was studying me, probably trying to figure out if that was a good idea. I raised my hand to cup his cheek as my thumb danced along his lips, and in that very moment, I knew the role he was destined to play. Yes, he was my doctor. Yes, he was the man who broke my heart as a teenager. But, he was also the man who would help me heal and help me navigate this new transition in my life. He could help me figure out what was going on with me, so I could live a healthier and better life with my child.

And if I was lucky, he’d stay.

“It makes me a little nervous to leave you in this condition, so I suppose I could do that. I could sleep out on the couch and—”

I climbed out of his lap and held out my hand. He looked at it curiously before he slid his hand in mine, and I slowly pulled him from the couch. I turned around, heading for the stairs as his hand gripped mine tightly, and we ventured up the steps before I opened the door to my bedroom.

He climbed into bed with me and held me close, running his fingers through my hair as I slowly fell asleep against his chest. My arms wrapped around his stomach while his arms surrounded my entire body, and for the first time since Carl died, I felt beautiful.

  Wanted.

  Cherished.

And not once did a nightmare plague me that night.

  Chapter 17

  Brandon

I groaned as my legs jumped. I felt myself panting, but I wasn’t sure why. Something warm encompassed my entire lower body, and for a split second, I wasn’t sure where I was. I opened my eyes as electricity shot through my groin. Something slid down my cock as my hands curled into the mess of sheets. My eyes shot open, and I looked around, trying to find Melissa as another groan peeled from between my lips.

But the moment I looked down, all I saw was a mess of brown hair.

  “Morning,” she muffled.

Holy shit, Melissa was sucking my cock. Was I dreaming? Did I need to pinch myself? Her tongue swirled around my tip, pulling from it precome that slid straight down her throat. Her hand curled around the base of my cock as I threw the covers back, and I sat up to simply take in the sight.

  “Mmmmmm.”

She hummed around my dick, and it made me fall back to the bed. She pumped the base of my thick dick while her mouth took in all of me it could, and my legs grew taut. My balls were swinging against the sheets, filled with come she’d been working on for quite some time. I could hear her slurping and moaning as my hips began rolling into her face, and my hand twisted in
to her hair before my other hand cupped her cheek.

I raised her gaze to mine, and she smiled around my cock. I could see the spit she had covered my skin with dripping from her lips, and I knew in that very moment there was no prettier sight. Her lips were swollen with their steady work, and her eyes sparkled with delight. It was a drastic turn from the woman I’d cradled in my arms last night, but I was determined to soak up every moment of it I could.

“That feels good,” I said, grinning.

Then, as if she was trying to show off, her hand fell to the side. I felt her wrap them underneath me as she clawed at my ass cheeks, and I shivered underneath her touch. I watched her take my entire cock to the back of her throat as her eyes stayed connected with mine, and in that very moment, my balls pulled into my body.

“Fuck, Melissa,” I groaned. “Holy shit.”

She closed her throat around my cock, and my head fell back to the pillow. Her name was stuck on the tip of my lips as she sucked me down. Her cheeks hollowed out as she pumped faster and faster, her lips bobbing up and down as my toes began to curl.

Never in my life did I ever think I would ever have her like this again, and I committed every single sensation to memory.

“Melissa. I’m so close. Just like that. Shit. Shit, shit, shit.”

I felt her jam my cock to the back of her throat, and that was all it took. I raised my hips to meet her face, my heels digging into her mattress. My come spilled down her throat as she swallowed me whole, humming in delight with the present I was giving her. My hands were tangled up in the sheets as sweat dripped down the back of my neck. I felt her smiling around my cock as my back arched further and further into the air.

Then, I crashed back to her bed while the room spun around me.

Her swollen lips placed kisses all the way back up my body before she fell into the crook of my arm. I panted, gasping for air as her spit rolled off my body. She kissed my neck and snuggled into me, her arm wrapping around my chest as her nose nuzzled the shell of my ear.

I finally found the strength to pull her close as I turned my lips into her forehead.

“Good morning,” I said before I kissed her skin.

  “Morning,” she said, giggling.

“What in the world was that for? Not that I’m complaining, but I figured from last night that would be the last thing on your mind,” I said.

“I guess I just wanted to give you something to make up for it. I sort of fell apart before you could get yours,” she said.

  “Melissa, look at me.”

She tilted her head up, and her morning eyes sparkled in the sun streaming through her windows. For the first time in years, I basked in the glow of the yellow speckles that peppered her brown irises. My eyes danced between hers as her hand came up to cup my cheek, and I turned my lips to kiss her palm before I finally spoke.

“There is never anything you have to repay me for. I gave you what I did last night because I wanted to. I wanted to make you feel good. I wanted to feel your body again. You owed me nothing. You never do.”

“Except payment for our therapy sessions,” she said, grinning.

“Was that a joke? Did you just make a joke?” I asked.

“Maybe I did,” she said, winking.

“It’s wonderful to see you in such a playful mood,” I said as I turned my body toward her. “How are you feeling?”

“Honestly? I’m still a bit confused. Uneasy. But, if I interpreted you correctly last night, I can’t let that hold me back from things I want. I woke up this morning, and I wanted to give you what you gave me last night, so I did.”

“And it was wonderful,” I said as I caressed her cheek.

“Thank you for staying last night,” she whispered.

“Anytime. It warms my heart to know you’re in better spirits this morning. And thank you for being honest with me.”

“It’s the only way I’m going to get any better,” she said.

“And I’ll be here as long as you need me to be.”

I didn’t want to, but I had to roll out of bed and get ready for work. Luckily, I was in a different set of clothes from work yesterday, so I cleaned myself up at her sink and went on to work. She made me coffee and sent it with me, telling me I could return the mug to her later. Then, she kissed me on the cheek before she watched me drive off.

Never in my life had I felt so close to fulfillment, and the feeling was distracting me all day from my patients.

My last two patients for the day canceled, so I headed to my mother’s to pick up Max. He came barreling out of the house and jumped into my arms, declaring he wanted to have pizza with Uncle Michael. I thanked my mother profusely for last night, and she gave me a smile, wrapping me in her arms before she kissed my cheek.

“It’s about time you got out with a woman,” she said. “I hope you had fun.”

I reassured her I did before I got Max buckled in. Then I called Michael, and we met him for pizza. We sat down and ordered pizza and drinks while Max colored in his coloring book, and I could feel Michael’s eyes on me as I sat back in my chair.

  “You look different,” he said.

  “What?”

“You look different. Have you lost weight?”

“Nope. Not that I know of,” I said.

“Have you gained weight?” he asked.

  “Can’t say I have.”

  “Then what gives?” Michael asked.

“Daddy looks funny,” Max said, giggling.

“Thanks, bud. Appreciate that,” I said.

“See? Even Max knows there’s something different. Spill,” Michael said.

“This isn’t appropriate conversation for Max to hear,” I said.

“Then talk vaguely. Come on. Something’s on your mind.”

“Talk vade-ly, Daddy. Uncle Mike said so,” Max said.

“I’d listen to your son if I were you,” Michael said, grinning.

“All right. Okay. Remember that new patient I was nervous about?” I asked.

“Monday at three. Yes. What about the patient?” he asked.

“Well, things have sort of progressed,” I said, grinning.

  “How so?” he asked.

“The patient has been calling frequently. You know, just to talk. Our sessions have been productive. We seem to be unpacking a lot of things.”

“Is she getting some of the answers she’s looking for?” Michael asked.

  “Answer time!” Max exclaimed.

“Answer time, indeed,” I said as I ruffled his hair.

  “Pizza yet?” Max asked.

“Ten more minutes, buddy,” I said.

“Have boundaries been breached?” Michael asked.

I felt a grin cross my face as a blush crept up my neck. I thought back to last night. How soft her skin had been beneath my fingertips. Her thighs had been pliable and soft, giving way to my every movement as I approached that glistening pussy. Her smell had completely washed over me, stirring up a carnal desire I hadn’t experienced since high school. I thought about how warm her mouth was wrapped around my raging cock. How her pussy fluttered around my fingers perfectly.

Melissa was beautiful in ways I never could have seen in my wildest dreams, and when I came to and looked at Michael, he was absolutely stunned.

“Dude, I have never seen that look on your face before,” he said.

  “What look?” I asked.

  “Dude! Pizza!” Max exclaimed.

The pizza was set in front of us, and Max pulled a piece into his plate. He was already covering himself in cheese and sauce as he devoured his dinner, but suddenly, I was no longer hungry. I could still smell her womanhood wafting up my nose. I could still feel her warmth wrapped around my cock. I could still feel her body pressed into the crook of mine.

“Oh, you’ve got it bad,” Michael said.

“I have no idea what to do. She’s my patient, Michael. But it’s not like I’m the one pushing the boundaries. She’s asking. She’s initiating. Sh
e’s calling. And I—”

  “You what?” he asked.

  “Mmmmm, pizza,” Max hummed.

“Slow down, buddy, or you’re gonna get a tummy ache.”
