Jashion was amazed at the sheer number of wolves that continued to come. It seemed that every wolf, from every corner of the dark forest, was descending upon them. As more of the men of Cardsten were taken, the remaining men became fiercer in their attacks. They finally perceived the wolves as their enemies and acted accordingly. Though some of the packs made their way past the armies of Cardsten and towards the armies of Agedon, most fought the armies of Cardsten directly. The longer the battle raged, the more wolves were upon them and the armies of Cardsten continued to deplete.
