Marcus could tell that his mother wanted to be upset, but she completely melted in Charlisse’s arms.

“I’m going to be a grandfather!” Charlisse’s father finally made his way to them from the crowd that had formed to take pictures and offer more congratulations.

“Okay, okay, everyone, let’s take a picture, please.” Ayda came over to wrangle everyone.

“We just need one.” She looked around for someone to take it, while she lifted Sasha onto her hip.

“I’ll take it.” Tremaine grabbed Ayda’s phone.

“No!” Both she and Marcus yelled at the same time.

“Alright, fine.” Tremaine looked around for someone else to pass the phone to before getting in the picture.

“Fine, fine. Terry to the rescue. I’ll take it...under the condition that The Post gets to do a part two of our story. I want first dibs on the baby pictures. Thaaaanks!” Terry held up the phone. “Everybody say “Baby” and give a big smile.”

He held the phone up to get everyone in the shot.

“Baby!” They all echoed back to him, as he snapped the Fordes' newest family picture.

The evening wound down and guests were finally gone, as Marcus led Charlisse up the stairs to their room.

“Today was unimaginably perfect. Your mother and sister did an amazing job.” Charlisse waited for Marcus to open the bedroom door then went straight to the bed.

She collapsed on top of it and kicked off her shoes. “But I’m pooped. Remind me to never get married again.”

She looked over to Marcus, as he tossed his suit jacket onto a nearby chair.

“Don’t worry, we’re never doing this again. I’m beat.” He came to sit beside her.

“Unless, we do a vow renewal. I was looking at some of those and they can be really nice. Like if we did one at ten years, maybe one at twenty.”

“Marc, please. Let’s close this one out first.” She stood up and pointed to her zipper. “Can you unzip me?”

“Ah, my four favorite words.” He eagerly stood up got behind her. “This dress looked good on you, but I know it looks better...on...the...floor.”

His words trailed off at the sight of the purple lace lingerie and garter belt that she wore underneath.

“C’mon, Charlisse. Really?” He shook his head. “How am I supposed to resist that?”

He spun her around to get a better look at her before gripping her around the waist.

“Simple.” She smirked. “You’re not supposed to, husband.”

She took a step forward then sexily climbed onto the bed.

“Say that shit again.” Marcus climbed onto the bed after her.

“Husband.” She giggled, as he came closer.

“One more time.” He playfully slapped her bottom then wrapped his arms around her legs to pull her under him.

“Huussssssbaaaand.” She dragged it out, just as he went in to kiss her.

Marcus was still on a high from being able to actually call Charlisse his wife. He had said it to himself, imagined it in his mind, but now, it was right in front of him.

The king of Washington, D.C. finally had his queen...and his prince. And while he didn’t necessarily expect a “happily ever after,” he was looking forward to making sure the he spent every moment of every day making both of their dreams come true.
