Stay Unbroken Page 3

by David W. Gbadegbe

She tilted her face upwards and kissed me, it was a slow fire, trickling sparks, butterflies in perfect choreography. Her breathing stroked my skin. Our arms strapped onto each other, the harmony of the ocean nailed us together. At the edge. We were left loosed by the gusting wind, to decide whether to fall free. I held her like I was given back my soul, a souvenir, a gift that was irreplaceable. I wish I could tell her that, I promised I would love her everyday but what if the oceans dry up one day and the sun forgets to rise?
