The buck stopped grazing and stared at the two wolves, his ears flicking back and forward worriedly. Before he could warn the fawns, Dean sent comfort and safety to the whole group. The buck looked at the men for a moment, then resumed grazing.
Matthew sat on the ground pulling Dean with him watching their daughter play and chase her new friends. Dean leaned his head on Matthew’s shoulder.
“We’ll have to get the Fae or Vassago to protect the deer or do something to stop the natural wolves eating them.”
“Yep. I’m thinking if we make sure mama wolf has enough to eat without bothering the deer, she’ll be fine and so will her pups.”
That made sense to Dean. “Our baby girl is going to be fine, isn’t she?”
“I think so.” Matthew kissed his forehead, fondly. “It’s all going to be okay.”

“Well, we have them in the house. So how do we get them in the bath?” Griff sat down after trying to capture one of the cheetahs. With all the mud, he couldn’t tell who was who.
“I have no clue.” Diablo plopped into the other chair.
At the knock on the door, Griff yelled, “Cheetahs out.”
“It’s me.” Frankie’s voice came through the door. “Don’t you dare run out this door when I come in.” The door opened and the cubs didn’t move. Frankie walked over to the middle of the room. “Baths now.” Three cubs changed into three dirty naked little boys who trooped toward the bathroom giving him no arguments. “I would suggest you clean them while they are still being good.” Frankie turned and walked out the door.
“How the hell...” Griff started but Diablo interrupted him.
“Griff.”
“How did he do that?”
“Alpha,” Diablo explained as so many weird little things suddenly fell into place. “Frankie’s an alpha. And if I’m not mistaken, he’s their Alpha. He had to be in the Underworld with no one else around. They could shift early, so it seems Frankie’s alpha-vibe kicked in early too.”
Griff sighed. “I’m glad Adair and Vassago are raising him then. I adore Frankie, and his help with the triplets is incredible. But a baby Alpha? That’s work.”
“I’m glad he bothers to come over, otherwise there may have been no baths unless I called Vass or the Fae again because we can’t even catch them in the house. I’ll do the bath and you clean up the mud they’ve tracked all over the floors.”
Diablo headed for the bathroom where three contrite little boys waited. They were so damn cute. “So, bubble bath?”
Heads nodded.
Diablo got some sponges and found a mildly scented bubble bath to add to the water. “You all look like you’ve had a lot of fun this morning. But why were you digging so deep?”
“We wanted to go to see Uncle Hades.”
“And Uncle Ali.”
“Uncle Ali’s chipmunk plays with us.”
Shit. Diablo felt a shaft of guilt. He and Griff had got the ‘trying to discipline’ side down with the triplets, but they hadn’t had much fun as a family group. Aside from the full pack run, Diablo and Griff hadn’t shifted and spent any time with the kids in their preferred animal form, unless they were chasing them.
No wonder the little cuties run from us. Not playing with them just isn’t fair on them. “We’ll let Uncle Ali know he can come visit whenever he likes so he can play with you. But, in the meantime, how about Griff and I shift after your bath and when we’ve had some lunch, we can all go on a run and play about a bit?”
The three smiling faces made all the tiredness worth it.

Ivan put the two tiny pups on the ground and then stripped. He shifted into his dragon and curled around the pups. His wolf was nearby. His pups were safe and couldn’t get over him to escape.
A crashing noise, followed by barking disturbed the quiet, and Ivan opened one eye. An irate possum hurried across the clearing. He had no sooner disappeared when the pup pack came into view with Killer and Cutie Pie in the lead. They vanished after the possum. Hey babe? The pack is after the possum again, could you intervene?
Again? Thomas’s voice sounded amused in Ivan’s head. They can’t catch him anyway.
There’s always the first time. Ivan wondered if he should get up, but he was huge in his shifted form, and his pups were too small to let loose to run by themselves.
George’s bigger than they all are combined. Don’t worry about him. Thomas soothed.
George?
George. Thomas sounded so sure. Face it, the possum needed a name.
Crashing sounded again and the pup pack ran back toward the house. It looked like it was every dog for himself this time.
What the… Ivan heard more crashing. The wolf pups were leaning on his legs watching.
The possum appeared in hot pursuit of the pack.
Never mind, Ivan sent to his mate. George can handle his own problems it seems. You may have to save Raff’s pups from the possum.

Giving a sigh of contentment, the huge dragon laid his head down as his little pups went back to playing. Life was good.

The End (for sure this time)
Thank you all for coming with me on the incredible journey the men from Cloverleah have taken us on. The Reluctant Wolf was my first ever fictional story, and these men have been in my heart for six years now. I would have said I was sad to see them go, but I already know they will be popping up in The Gods Made Me Do It series, and a second spin off series I have planned involving the San Antonio and Tulsa packs. So, it’s not so much goodbye, as more “see you later.”
Yes, there will be more books in the Gods series. A number of readers have asked me about it on social media, thank you. Zeus will definitely be getting a mate eventually, and I know Ra wants one too. There are also many other gods we haven’t met yet, so that series will be going for a while.
This may be the end of the Cloverleah journey, but it’s not the end of my time as an author. My wonderfully supportive readers are already asking about when the next City Dragons book will be out, also Sean and Kyle from the Northern States pack (under Lee Oliver), and the next books in the Balance, and Arrowtown series’. I am also partial to writing (almost) standalone books in the Alpha and Omega series, so look for more of those too.
This book wasn’t easy to write. There were many times I brushed away a quiet tear as I typed, not so much because of the content, but because of what this book represents. I can’t say often enough, how thankful I am to all my wonderful readers who’ve supported me on this amazing journey so far. Your reviews, posts, comments, emails, and messages, and sometimes just the sheer excitement you share with me, let’s me know you love these men as much as I do.
