  About

Previously in Love and Beyond Part 2

Gloria walked over to a panel on the wall and started pressing numbers. Many places on the wall opened up and torches came out and a door opened four places on the floor flipped to reveal slight holes in it. She walked into the room that the door that had opened and walked out with two bags. She opened the longer of the bag and said, “By the grace of the wind, I call upon the God Hades to honor him with my dance so that he may hear the beating of my heart. Fill the desire within.” She pulled out a long spear that was two double-bladed swords. She turned the center of the shaft of the spear and it changed to two swords. She walked to the left bottom corner of the square and placed one sword in the opening. Then she walked to the top right corner and placed the other sword in it. She walked over to the bag and pulled two swords out and walked over to one of the torches and said, “Let the flames of passion open his eyes to the fires of desire within my heart. May he find pleasure within the beauty of my dance and body. Hear me, Hades, God of the Underworld.” She struck the two swords together and sparks ignited the torch. After the torches were lit, she walked back and placed the swords in the opening. Then she said, “Bobby, press seven nine two eight on the selector. Then stand outside the square.” He did as she asked him to do. Gloria lay down on the floor. As the song “Silent Running” started to play, she arched her back. Bobby could feel a strange presence in the air. The floor glowed and the walls also began to glow. The torches illuminated the room and the flames matched the color of the glow that came from the walls and floor. Bobby looked at Gloria and thought she was so beautiful. When the dance was over, the torches went out as the floor stopped glowing. She walked over to Bobby. “Do you remember what I said and what I did to start the ritual?” He nodded. “Good. I am going to call upon your magic and begin the casting. He must know us both. I will dance for you.” Bobby felt strange as he walked over and repeated everything that Gloria had done. Then he went to the music selector and pressed the numbers for the song to start. As Gloria lay on the floor, she said, “This time, stand by the left bottom corner inside the square.”

“I thought pentagrams were made within circles?”

Gloria said as she called upon his magic. “The elements are the only things that can reach the underworld. I do not have the time to train you for the other elements, so we are calling upon the four winds. Your magic is strange to me. Please stand in silence. If I make a mistake, we both die.” Bobby stood in silence as he watched her dance the same dance again exactly as she did the first time. This time when she finished, the torches remained lit as Bobby removed the swords. Gloria stepped out of the square as a powerful magical presence could be felt. She looked at Bobby. “Time to pay the piper. I do not think it would be wise if you are here with me when Hades appears. Go to Nicole before the week is up; you will be among the cursed. I could feel it is time for the completion.”

Bobby looked at her. “Hades, what will he be coming for?” As he was speaking, a bed appeared in the square where the swords made.

“Never call upon a god or goddess, Bobby, unless you have no other choice. Leave and leave now. Come back tomorrow and we will start working on the dance,” she said with a voice of regret. Bobby walked away fast. Gloria’s heart raced as she saw him appear beside him where the hounds of hell that were growling and snarling at her.

In a safe, a book that was glowing without any words upon it busted into flames and the words Sheamalight Existence Memory Series Book 3 Moredune City Fire Return of the Gargoyles appeared on it. The flames on the torches began to glow a bright orange-red and the hounds started to whimper as the roar of a dragon shook the four walls.

That weekend in San Francisco, Gloria walked into a restaurant and dance hall. She walked in and past the hostess to a wall filled with pictures. William sat at a table watching her. She slowly walked, looking at all of the pictures with tears in her eyes. Old friends of her youth that had departed. Some much too soon. She stopped, letting a sob out as she looked at the Latino couple. She touched the picture. As she looked at just how handsome Antonio was and how beautiful Juanita was, she took her hand and wiped the tears from her eyes. She opened her purse and pulled out an envelope. She opened the envelope and pulled out a picture of her and Stanley standing on the beach at his house in Mississippi. She pulled some tape from her purse and taped the picture to the wall. She dropped her purse, kissed Stanley’s picture, then she kissed Antonio and Juanita. “Tonight, a White Dancer will join you, my friends. I hope I am good enough to do what I am going to try to do. I love you all.” She dropped her purse on the floor and walked away.

That night, Gruban walked out on the stage, holding Gloria Natasha Thomas. Beside him was Gloria. Natasha was holding her hand. Behind them were Cody, Catrina, and Rachel. Several men were carrying chairs.
The contest was the largest one in the history of the state. Over six hundred dance couples entered. As the started walking out with the chairs, the dancers on stage pulled their numbers off. The ones that were still in the contest but not on stage started walking across the stage pulling off the numbers and dropping them on the floor. Gloria was seated in the seat along with Cody, Catrina, and Rachel. Gruban stood looking at the judges. The only thing he could say was “Last dance for Stanley Thomas, Gloria Parker.”

A judge stood and said, “Granted.” The stage was filled with dancers. Many brought roses to Gloria, Catrina, Rachel, and Cody. When it was over, the dancers started walking off stage.

Bobby pulled his coat, shirt, and undershirt off. He walked out on the floor wearing nothing but shoes and pants. Gloria was still in her seat. Most of the older dancers knew what they were about to do.

A dance from the Dennarr. Never had been done before. Catch the Fallen was part of that dance. Gloria was one of the few left alive that knew the moves but never attempted it in its entirety. Bobby knelt down one knee on the floor, one foot flat on the floor. Gruban stood and watched. Bobby held out his hand. Gloria stood and walked over. The floor started to glow as she started circling. “Nine spins, Bobby. Four alone. My body has to be facing the sky on the beginning of the fifth spin. Four alone, five together. You complete that and every move after has to be precise or the one that makes the mistake will die soon after the mistake. The other will not live a day after the one that dies. Or so said the legend. Only one has made it past the first part.”

She circled him three times, touching his face every time. Gruban said, “Love makes the world go around. Three times for he must catch her.”

Gloria spun and started to fall. Bobby knelt back and caught her. Gruban said, “Four spins alone Love. She has got to go high.” Bobby had one hand in the center of her back one just under her butt. He came up with all his strength Gloria went up in the air. Gruban said, “L O V E.” Her body was facing upwards when Bobby grabbed her lifting her up slightly Gruban said, “L I V E S. For love lives. They did it. They are now dancing the tide. They do this and…”

Sam said flatly, “They will die. They are not dance mates. Every move must be precise. She touched him once when she isn’t supposed to. She is dead, and he will be dead before two days is up. The same for him. They watched seven minutes into the dance. Sam said, “Gloria made a mistake; she touched him.” He looked down and said, “If that was Stanley, they could have done it with ease. They were our last hope. Then a new hope was born with Britney. No one now takes their place.”

Gloria felt a sharp pain in her chest. Bobby grabbed her. She touched his face and said, “I love you; I hope it works.” Then another sharp pain to her chest and she stopped breathing. Her body started to fall Bobby caught her and he started doing CPR an ambulance was called. The paramedics started working with her. She was loaded into the ambulance and they started towards the hospital.

Bobby and Nicole were in the car behind the ambulance. A man running from the police ran a red light and just missed the ambulance and hit the car he was in broad-side. The car started flipping. Bobby was thrown from the car. His body went numb and a sharp pain covered his body just after he stopped rolling. He saw the car burst into flames and then everything went black. Ashley skidded to a stop. The man that was running from the cops started limping away and she shot him nine times.

The next afternoon, Bobby woke up. Ashley said softly into Bluetooth as his eyes opened up, “He is awake, JD.”

He turned his head and said, “Nicole.”

Ashley said with a sad voice, “Was still in the car?”

Bobby looked up at the ceiling and said, “Gloria.”

“Pronounced dead upon arrival. Bobby, I am so sorry.”

“Why can’t I feel anything, but I have a headache.”

She stood over him and kissed him and said, “I never will forget the night we stayed together, Bobby.” Tears came to her eyes. “They will pay, I promise you that. You are the sexiest man I have ever seen.”

JD walked in the room. “Ash, you don’t want to see this. Leave.”

Ashley looked at him. “Thank you, Bobby. Tell them all I said thank you.”

She walked out of the room.

JD sighed. “I found out who was responsible for this. When I leave here, I will take care of the one that started all of this. Then I am going after Mason. I will find him, son. That I promise. You are paralyzed from the neck down, son.”

Bobby swallowed hard, his voice was filled with fear. “Tell Mom and Dad I love them. See that Gruban and Natasha get the kids and tell them Mommy and Daddy will always be watching over them.”

He closed his eyes. “The dream came true after all. I am the last one.” He started crying and he said, “I wish I was like you, Uncle Jake. Not able to love because this is worse than death. I love you, Uncle Jake.”

JD swallowed hard. “This is only the beginning, son. Momma tried to explain it the best she could. I didn’t understand her and she didn’t understand her dream either. I swear, boy, when it matters the most, I won’t let you down. Now I have got to do my part.” Three shots were fired into the center of Bobby’s chest. His body jerked, and his head turned to the side. Blood started to pour out his mouth and blood started rolling down on the sheets. He didn’t hear the shots that killed him. JD stood looking at him as tears came to his eyes. “Love you too, boy. They fucked with the wrong family.” He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. “I am sending bodies home, Daniel. Trust me when I say I didn’t have a choice. Bury the girl next to him. Make it another double casket for him and Gloria. Place Gloria closest to Stanley. I won’t make this funeral. I am going hunting. Call Gina and tell her that her nephew is dead. The whole family is getting a piece of this.”

Stanley stood. Everything he was seeing faded. Francois looked at him and said, “I have shown you all I can, son.” Then he vanished along with Sabrina.

Stanley looked around. The ground was covered in blood. He saw Destiny and she trembled with fear as it looked at the bodies of the three Fates without heads. A man walked towards her, a look of pure hate on his face and rage in his eyes. Destiny started to scream, but before a sound could be made, her head started to fall. Looking at his sword, rage was in his voice as darkness came. “Don’t worry. I am not done yet. You will not be the only ones.” As he vanished, a bright light started to shine and a man walked from the light. He held the same look of hate in his eyes as the man with the black hair had. But his chest glowed. “It is not safe for you. I have called upon the winds of time and I must hide you until the time is right for your presence to be known.”

“The winds of time?” Stanley said with a confused voice.

“I don’t have time to explain; come with me.”

Stanley stood in a hospital room. The clock on the wall was at nine forty. Britney’s hand trembled as she pressed play on the CD player. Stanley reached for her as the song “Night Fever” by the Bee Gees, the first song they ever danced to, played. “Britney!” Stanley called out to her as he vanished into a bright light.

  Chapter 1

  Drugs & Dreams

Britney took Stanley’s hand as the doctor unplugged the machine. Britney was dancing beside him. A strange feeling came over her. It was like her soul was being ripped from her body. Her will to live was stripped out of her as all she ever wanted faded from her life. At nine forty-two, Stanley’s heart monitor stopped beeping. Tears fell from Britney’s eyes.

She stood there as the song played. The doctor walked out of the room. She lay down over him and said, “Stanley, I love you. Don’t leave me, Stanley.”

Ivan placed his hand on her shoulder. “He’s gone.”

“No, he isn’t. He can’t be.”

Ivan gently took her arm. “You shou
ld go. Come.” Stanley lay motionless.

“No, I will not leave him. I will not leave him. Stanley, come back to me!”

Ivan pulled a little stronger. “We need to go.”

Britney held on to Stanley, shouting, “I will never leave him never, never! Stanley, I love you. Stanley, stay with me! I need you, Stanley.”

Ivan started pulled harder. He was stronger than her. She tried to shove him back with one hand as hard as she could as she held on to Stanley and screamed louder. “Oh God, please don’t take him from me! I don’t want to live without him. Oh God, I don’t want to live without him!”

Ivan got her away from him and held her as she leaned forward and grabbed Stanley’s hand, holding on with all she had. At nine fifty, just as his hand was leaving hers, she screamed as loud as she could, “Oh God, I want to die! Oh God, I want to die!”

Stanley’s arm fell and didn’t move. Britney screamed as loud as she could. “God no! God No! I need him! I need him!”

It took nearly all the strength that Ivan had to get her out of the room. Once she was out, a doctor gave her some medication to calm her.

Gloria couldn’t stand. Ivan called Nicole and told her that Stanley was gone. She told Bobby, and when Bobby told Gloria, she passed out. Gloria was weak when they got to the hospital. Cody, Rachel, and Catrina were devastated. Britney could hardly stand. Bobby helped Gloria to Britney and they hugged each other tight.

Gloria wept. “I felt the curse coming to me and it stopped. That was when I knew and then Bobby told me.”

Britney felt empty inside. “I don’t know how to explain it. He heard me, I know he heard me, but something pulled him away.”

Stanley’s body was sent to a funeral home. They picked out a casket for him to be shipped in. Britney had a say in all the arrangements. Gloria made sure she was treated as if she were Stanley’s wife. His body was taken to the airport, placed on the Chandler jet, and flown back to Memphis, Tennessee along with his family and a few close friends. It was getting close to dark when Gloria walked up to Bobby. “I’m going to the funeral home alone. Stay inside the house tonight, Bobby.”
