The Duke's Fated Love Page 21

by Emily Bow

He cried out mine as his body released, and he collapsed against me, his warm weight anchoring me until he rolled to his side. I lay there boneless as he rose and took care of us and then we were beneath the sheets, his arm over my waist as if he’d never let me go.

Nothing could feel this good. I had been so right about us. My breathing calmed, and I stretched.

His eyelids were lowered, and a smile played over his lips. He looked happy.

One more mystery to solve. I eased away, and his arm tightened.

I reached over the side of the bed and touched my discarded dress, pulling the blue silk with my fingers until I could reach the pocket. I tugged the key out and rolled over to face Thorn. “Tell me about the key.” I sounded embarrassingly breathless and smitten.

“I’m a duke, you know.” He grinned, his voice deep and lazy. “I have other castles for you to explore.”

I handed him the key back.

  He frowned.

“I never needed a castle.” I kissed him sweetly. “Don’t get me wrong, I love the castle.”

His grin returned, and he kissed my bare shoulder, and then used his tongue on it in a charming circle.

I shivered at the sensation. “But I never needed a castle. I never longed for stone walls. Not like I need and long for you.”

He rewarded me with a slow, lingering kiss.

“All I wanted from England is you.”

Thorn found my left hand and kissed my ring finger. “Then we have that in common. All I want from America is you.”

  The End.
