“How do you feel about a civil ceremony?”

  My lips compress.

“Obviously not,” Hadley says, her eyes twinkling. At least she doesn’t claim I’m pouting. This time.

  “Why do you ask?”

Hadley leans back in her office chair. “First, you’ll never guess who called to book an engagement party.”

  “Becca?”

Hadley rolls her eyes. “She’s skipping that. They’re going all out on the wedding instead.”

“It’s coming up soon, right?” I move a chair over to sit next to her.

  “Five weeks and counting.”

“I switched my shift. I’ll be there.”

Hadley grins at me. I love seeing her face light up about such a minor thing. Her hand squeezing mine reminds me why I want her.

  “My mother called.”

I fight the urge to stiffen, not entirely winning the battle. Thank goodness Hadley’s still got a firm hold on my hand. “What did she want?”

“To hire me to plan my brothers’ engagement party.”

  “Your brother is engaged?”

  “Evidently.”

Hadley keeps her eyes steady, but her lip twitches. “Wait a second. Which brother? We saw them at Jack’s soccer game last week. None of them were even dating anyone.”

  “Yep.”

  “So who’s getting married?”

“According to Mom, all of them.”

I blink, pulling every police training tactic to avoid staring at her with my mouth hanging open.

She grins. “I know. I felt the same. I called Camden.”

“What did he have to say about it?”

“Only that they have some bet going.” Hadley tilts her head, grin spreading. “But he was pretty upset that Mom’s decided to plan an engagement party.”

“I’ll bet.” I kiss her on the nose, then move to her lips. Then it hits me. “Why were you asking about a civil ceremony?”

A blush creeps up her cheeks. Her eyes drop and she bites her lower lip. I give her hip a squeeze. She lets out a puff of air. “I just wanted to start the next year as your wife.”

Yeah, my chest expands at her words. “Fine. We can have a civil service on New Year’s Eve. We’ll make a party of it.”

Hadley wraps her arms around my neck. “Good, because I already booked the venue.”

“Of course you did.” I know I’ve been manipulated into doing exactly what she wants. Truth is, I don’t care at all. I’m getting what I want too.

  Tessa’s Gossip Column

Oh, dear reader, what to say! I witnessed the sweetest proposal ever today.

  Brian Miller and Hadley Mitchell!

Wedding bells are in the air.

I hear Hadley’s wedding bells aren’t the only ones ringing.

Those 3 oh-so-handsome brothers need to settle down and stop breaking hearts.

And let’s not forget about Brian’s twin sister. Brooklyn is smiling far too much these days.

Not to worry, dear reader, I am on the hunt for the truth.

  Thank you from Tessa

Thank you for reading Brian and Hadley’s story. This is the third book centered around Brentwood High’s 10th Reunion. All of these romances are stand-alone with some character cameo appearances. Since I do not always appreciate books that require I read them in order, I work hard to make sure these stories can be read in any order.

As you’ve probably noticed, since you’re reading this section, the stories in this series are shorter romances. I’m an extremely busy mother who rarely gets to read without interruption. I need my lovey-dovey romance stories to be quick. Little kids do not comprehend reading time, like toilet or shower time, should be uninterrupted (and mostly private).

All of the 10th Reunion stories are in Kindle Unlimited. I hope that you enjoyed Brian and Hadley’s story. Click the link below to signup and receive all the gossipy news related to Brentwood and the reunion.
