5:10 p.m. Millbank, London
Sitting on the passenger seat of the black 750cc Africa Twin Ian Birtley pulled out his mobile, accessed the address book and called the first pre-programmed number.
‘Hello, Omar, we're moving into position now,’ he said, snapping the phone shut immediately.
With the phone back inside the pocked of his leathers, Birtley sat up on the saddle and tapped the driver on the arm. The bike sped off along Millbank following the road parallel to the river. The crossing at Lambeth Bridge was closed and Birtley knew why that would be, but they were heading straight ahead anyway, and in no time the driver pulled over by Victoria Tower Gardens. Birtley dismounted and removed the large rucksack from his shoulders. He checked his watch. 5:14. One minute to go.
