Worth the Wait (Very Personal Training Book 2)

by Karla Doyle

After tormenting the shit out of Brian during his hard fall for Cassie, Sam could be in for some serious payback. Could be. If he fell in love.

  LEIGH

An incoming text illuminated Leigh’s phone.

Are you free tonight? I want to make you my famous enchiladas. Then keep you up past your bedtime making you come.

Any thoughts she’d had of guarding her heart dissolved at the sight of Sam’s message. She couldn’t resist his charm. When it came to Sam, she wanted the whole enchilada. For however long it was on the table.

What time do you want me over?

Come now. So I can make you come now. ;)

Her burst of laughter roused the cat from his twelfth—or possibly twentieth—nap of the day. “Sorry,” she said, stroking Smokey’s fur until the fluffy, charcoal feline resumed his curled posture. Still smiling, she tapped another message.

What can I bring? Wine, salad, wholesale club pack of condoms?

No, no, and hell yes. (Kidding—unless you actually bought one, in which case, absolutely hell yes, bring it, you perfect goddess of a woman.) And bring whatever you need for tomorrow morning, because I want you in my bed all night long.

In the race to see which could thrum faster, her heart or her libido, she didn’t know where to place a bet.

  Be there soon.

I can’t wait to see you.

  Okay, her heart won.

Incurring Smokey’s stink-eye, she abandoned the cat on the couch. “You won’t even miss me,” she said, dancing her way out of the room.

Upstairs, she threw what she needed into a bag. Clothes for work tomorrow. Toiletries. A handful of condoms, because there was no such thing as too many with Sam.

  Have you left yet?

A sour churning filled her stomach at the sight of Sam’s message.

No, still at home. Do you need to cancel? Has something come up?

Something has definitely come up, and it needs you to get here, asap.

A photo followed. Sam’s shirtless torso with its ridges of rippling abs, a pair of dark jeans, unzipped and pushed open, his forearm taut as he held a fistful of his thick, hard cock.

Not a dick pic, per se, though she wouldn’t have minded. This picture, though… Yum, yum, give her some. Then give her some more.

She fired off a string of emojis, mostly flames with a couple of lipstick kiss prints and an eggplant, of course. Then added some words, the adult thing to do.

Looks like we’re skipping dinner again and going straight to the bedroom.

I want you outside of the bedroom too.

You can have me in any and every room. Tell me what you want.

She dropped onto her bed, wiggling out of her t-shirt and yoga pants as the little dots repeated their marching pattern inside Sam’s message bubble. Whatever sexy idea he was typing must be a detailed one.

They’d only talked about her fantasies so far. Sam had been more than happy to fulfill every wish. Like the fisting. She’d never told anyone she wanted to try that and he’d made it so insanely hot. Tonight, she’d take a turn. No matter what he said he wanted, she’d give it to him.

God, let it be something filthy dirty. Something she’d never done would be even better.

She trailed her fingertips down her body, inside her panties. The urge to come roared to life as she slid a finger on either side of her clit and squeezed it between them.

Tapping the camera button, she held the phone up and snapped a photo. No face, just her boobs in a white satin demi-bra and her hand in the front of very tiny white panties. This was something she’d never done before—hitting send.

  Holy fuck, that’s hot.

Yes, his appreciation of her pic boosted her higher than her underwire push-up bra. But still. Those damn dots had kept going and going. Four words was all they’d amounted to?

Get your sexy self over here.

So you can finish what I just started?

Hell yes. But not until after we eat dinner. I want to sit across from you and look at your beautiful face, listen to your stories, hear you laugh at my jokes. That’s what I was going to say when you sidetracked me with your sexy selfie. Hurry up and get here.

Sorry, libido, but her heart had jumped into the lead again.

He wanted to cook for her. Look at her. Learn about her and laugh with her. Couple stuff.

She needed to get over the age thing. Really get over it. Accept Sam’s words at their face value instead of second-guessing and overthinking everything.

Being with Sam was amazing. She’d be a fool to let anything—especially herself—get in the way of thoroughly enjoying the amazingness.

If you’re in a hurry to see me, stop distracting me with *your* hot pics. Okay, I’m kidding. Definitely don’t stop. Send as many as you want. (That’s code for ‘send more,’ btw.)

  Lol. See you soon, babe.

  LEIGH

Sam’s condo was in a boxy, gray building near the expressway. One half of the building overlooked six lanes of high-speed traffic. The other half overlooked the parking lot. Neither option was particularly spectacular.

A wolf whistle greeted her as she exited her car.

She tracked the sound to a third-floor balcony. Arms resting on the railing, Sam grinned down at her.

The building might have crappy views, but her view from the guest parking area was spectacular indeed.

She waved at him while walking toward the front door. If she’d been the one on the balcony, she would’ve rushed back into the apartment by now to finish getting things ready and make sure everything was on track for whatever she’d planned.

Not Sam. He held his leisurely position, his gaze never straying as he watched her cross the parking lot. Seriously, the man had sexy-cool perfected.

Her phone chimed in her bag the moment she stepped into the vestibule.

Buzzing you in now. I’m unit 308. Elevator is straight ahead. Tell me when you’re inside it and the door is closed.

The latch clicked as the buzzer sounded. The foyer was silent, except for the sound of her heels clacking on the tile floor. Inside the elevator, she pressed the third-floor button, then replied to his text.

  On my way up.

Anybody in the elevator with you?

  No.

Unbutton your shirt. I’ll be waiting for you.

Heart pounding a wild beat in her chest, she did as he’d instructed, pushing the final button through its hole as the elevator reached its destination.

The sound of metal gliding over metal reverberated as the doors slid open. As promised, Sam stood on the other side.

A biceps-hugging white t-shirt accented his physique and tanned skin. Hands tucked casually in the pockets of a pair of low-slung jeans, he wore an I’m-going-to-have-you-for-dinner smile. The man was lethally sexy.

His gaze dropped from her face to her boobs and a hungry groan broke the silence in the hallway.

Arching her back to better show off her breasts, she stepped out of the elevator. “Is this what you wanted?”

“For starters.” He liberated the small bag from her shoulder. Slid his hands under her open blouse and pulled her in. “Now I want this.” He crushed his lips against hers, demanding entry.

Always. She’d always open for him. Arms wrapped behind his neck, she pressed against him, as close as possible. She raised her leg, her attempt to climb him like a tree halted by the little cargo skirt she’d worn. Damn it. Desperate for whatever pressure she could get, she twined her calf behind his and angled her hips forward. Not enough. Not nearly enough.

Sam absorbed her frustrated groan, then made it worse by stroking his tongue in and out of her mouth. “Tell me what you want,” he said, when her second needy whimper vibrated around his tongue.

  “To go to your apartment.”

Nipping her bottom lip, he shook his head. “Not good enough.” He coasted his hands southward, to the bottom of her skirt, then beneath it—just enough to graze her thighs with hi
s fingertips. “Tell me exactly what you want.”

“I want to come.” The words had scarcely left her lips when his touch moved higher, stroking the strip of satin between her legs. “And I don’t want to wait until after dinner.”

Chuckling, he walked them away from the elevator, then backed her up against the wall and hiked her skirt up to her waist. “I won’t make you wait, babe.”

  “What are you—”

He answered her unfinished question with his hand. Panties pushed to one side, he stroked her pussy. Teased his fingertips inside her, only to remove them when she spread her legs wider. Kissing her pouting lips, he pressed two fingers against her clit. Rubbed it with perfect, delicious pressure.

  “What if somebody comes?”

“Oh, somebody’s definitely going to come,” he said, using his free hand to fill her with what had to be at least two long, thick fingers.

Her body jerked against the penetration. White-hot need stole her breath, her ability to make words. All she could do was look into his eyes and nod.

“You fucking undo me when you look at me that way.” He brought his mouth down on hers. Fucked her with his tongue while he rubbed her off, hard and unrelenting.

Orgasm slammed through her, blinding her to everything except Sam’s touch and the crashing waves of climax. Wrung out and panting, she slumped against him.

“Keep your head down and hold on to me,” he said, straightening her skirt and scooping her into his arms in one swoop.

“Is she all right?” an unfamiliar female voice asked as Sam carried her down the hall.

“She’s fine. Just got lightheaded and dizzy for a couple minutes.”

“I hope she’s sick, not pregnant,” the voice called after them. “You know this is an adults-only building. It’s in the condominium bylaws. We don’t want to listen to any crying babies.”

“Too bad there’s not a bylaw prohibiting cranky old ladies,” Sam said under his breath.

Leigh snuck a peek at the source of the crankiness and saw a short, scowl-faced old woman with both hands planted on her hips. “Not best friends with your neighbor?”

  “You could say that.”

Balancing her on his knee, he opened his condo door, then took her inside. Safely behind the closed door, he returned her feet to the ground. Then promptly pinned her to the wall and kissed her until his “lightheaded and dizzy” comment became one hundred percent accurate.

Groaning as if physically in pain, he pulled back and leaned on the opposite wall. “Dinner first.”

A little shrug and her sheer, pink blouse slid off her shoulders. Goose bumps rose on her arms. She didn’t need to see her nipples to know they’d hardened to diamond strength inside her bra. “We can go back to dinner.”

“Babe, I’m addicted to you. There’s no going back once I have you naked.”

For a man as young, hot and amazing as Sam to feel that way about her filled her with pure feminine power. She unhooked her bra and let it join her blouse on the floor. “Maybe I don’t want to go back.”

“You’re that scared to eat my cooking?” The playful comment didn’t hide the heat in his gaze.

“I’m not scared of anything with you.” Reaching under her skirt, she removed her panties and dangled them from one finger. “Let me prove it.”

Sam’s eyes darkened. The man was hungry, and it wasn’t for dinner. He pushed off the wall. Hard knocking at the nearby door stopped him before he took one full step toward her.

“Your sick friend dropped something from her bag.” More knocking accompanied the same voice from the hallway. Sam’s cranky neighbor.

“Leave it, Mrs. Fewster. I’ll get it later,” Sam said, his heated gaze not straying from Leigh for a single second.

“You can open the door and take it now or I’m throwing it in the trash. I’m not leaving something inappropriate in plain view, for anybody walking by to see.”

Sam’s eyebrows rose. “Guess I’d better open the door and take possession of whatever inappropriate item fell out of your bag.” His lips curved with amusement as he moved toward the door.

“Wait—I have to get my clothes on.”

He nabbed the panties and bra, grinning when she attempted to wrestle them from his fist.

  “Sam, I need those.”

“Jump and get them,” he said, raising his hand higher.

“You just want to see my boobs bounce.”

“Yup. And not ashamed to admit it.”

If he wanted to play dirty, she’d play dirty. Rubbing up against him, she worked her hand inside the front of his shorts and stroked his thick cock. “Please give me my bra.”

“You don’t have a bra. This one’s mine now.”

She grabbed his arm, pulled with all her might, but the damn thing didn’t lower an inch. All it did was make him laugh.

Another knock at the door prompted him to gently shake her loose. “Better get your shirt on.” His gaze dropped to her boobs. “Or don’t. I’m good, either way.”

Scrambling—and mildly fuming—she grabbed the blouse, slipped it on and had fifty percent of the buttons secured by the time Sam opened the door. Which she hid behind.

“Take it.” The woman sounded as if she’d just handed off something repugnant.

“Just obeying the condo bylaws and ensuring you don’t have to listen to any crying babies.” His voice remained friendly, but there was no mistaking the nuance of antagonism. “By the way, you might want to turn up your TV tonight.”

  “Why?”

“Because you know how thin the walls are, and there’s no bylaw against making your girlfriend moan.”

Cranky neighbor lady uttered something in another language, after which Sam laughed and closed the door.

“What did she say?” Leigh asked, as Sam tucked the troublemaking condom packet into his pocket.

  “No clue.”

  “Then why did you laugh?”

“Because she gave me the finger.”

“Wow, I didn’t think people her age used that gesture. Though, you did egg her on with that comment about making your girlfriend moan.”

“It wasn’t a comment for effect, I plan to make good on that promise.” He threaded their fingers together and led her into the main living area, where he faced her while taking ahold of her other hand. “I apologize if I embarrassed you. Mrs. Fewster and I have a history, but I shouldn’t have brought you into the feud.”

“I don’t care about that. And I’m not embarrassed, as long as she didn’t actually see anything that happened near the elevator.”

“She saw nothing, I promise you. I made sure we were out of the range of her security peephole and she didn’t open her door until you were done riding my hand like a rodeo champion.”

“Sam!” Freeing her hands, she swatted him away. “Now, I’m embarrassed. Okay, not really.” She’d never been ashamed of enjoying sex. Having Sam as a partner allowed her to revel in all things sexual. He’d already taken her places she’d only fantasized about, but they still had so much exploring to do.

“Dinner first,” he said, shaking his head when she advanced on him.

“What makes you think I had anything else in mind?”

“I don’t know everything about you yet, but I know that look. Don’t get me wrong, babe, I love that look. But I want to get to know all your other looks too.” He pulled her into his arms. Dropped a kiss on the end of her nose. “Be a good girl for a little while and after dinner, I’ll give my bad girl everything she wants.”

  His bad girl.

Her heart was in so much trouble.

“With a proposition like that and enchiladas, how can I refuse?”

  LEIGH

What Sam’s condo lacked in space, it made up for in style. The credit for that style went to Sam. As she’d learned during her tour, he’d remodeled everything after purchasing the one-bedroom unit, personally choosing every detail. The sleek, glossy white kitchen cabinets with hammered nickel accent
s. The fully tiled walk-in shower that had replaced a standard bathtub. The dove-gray color of the walls, along with every light fixture, picture and piece of décor. All Sam’s picks. He’d even selected the plants on his balcony.

Which were perfect. Just like everything else.

“Dinner,” he said, stepping onto the balcony with a plate in each hand. His gaze landed on her boobs as he sat across from her at the bistro table. “I see there’s a bit of a breeze out here tonight.”

“Funny guy.” Even the slightest shift in position caused the sheer fabric of her blouse to brush her nipples. They’d been standing at attention since he declined to return her bra fifteen minutes ago. “If I said I was cold, would you give me my bra back?”

He shook his head while swallowing a mouthful of beer. Without further comment, he dug into his meal.

The control freak part of her bristled. The other part, the part that couldn’t get enough of Sam’s alpha-male tendencies, told the control freak to get over it and eat her enchilada. And maybe work in a nonchalant stretch once or twice. No harm in tormenting him a little. Payback didn’t have to be a bitch, she could be a party girl too.

“Smells delicious,” she said, gathering a forkful of steaming food.
