“Then what do you intend to do?”
Rebecca smiled at her husband. “Don’t pretend you don’t know.”
“I’m afraid I do,” Zach mumbled, his voice tinged with amusement instead of annoyance. “Does this mean we have to postpone our honeymoon?”
Rebecca shrugged. “Perhaps a little. Only until I know what’s going on.”
“Care for some help?” Zach asked, pulling her into his arms, his chin coming to rest on her shoulder as they both kept watching the front hall and all that transpired there.
“Are you offering to be my accomplice?”
“Always,” he whispered into her ear, his warm breath sending tingles down her spine. “Together; isn’t that what we agreed on?”
“Together.” Smiling, Rebecca snuggled deeper into her husband’s embrace, dying to know what Caroline had managed to hide from her for some time, it would seem.
But no more.
Now, she needed to know, and she would.
