“All right. Thanks for letting me push you around a little bit tonight,” Mrs. Shaw said and smiled.

  Trish smiled too. “Sure.”

“I’ll walk you to your car,” David said and patted Trish’s knee.

  Mrs. Shaw grinned at them.

  Chapter 30

Trish woke up to Darlene singing Jingle Bells in her bedroom. “Oh, for goodness sakes!” Trish groaned and turned over.

The clock said 8:30. “I need to get a lock put on that upstairs’ door. Aren’t you a little old to act like an excited kid on Christmas morning?”

“It’s not my fault you stayed out all night with David,” Darlene chimed as she twirled around the room.

“I wasn’t out all night. I was home by 10:30. It just started snowing. You guys were in bed already. And – I was at a Christmas party.”

“With David,” Darlene teased and plopped down on the bed next to Trish.

“Yes. Mrs. Shaw insisted I come to her party. However, I am glad that I went. I had fun.”

“And you got to see David,” Darlene chimed.

“Yes. Okay, it was great to spend Christmas Eve with David.”

“Tell me all about it. Did he steal a kiss while you were there? He seems to have a habit of that. Who was at the party?”

“Later,” Trish groaned as she sat up. “I’ll tell you later. Grab that envelope on my dresser before I forget about it.”

Darlene hopped up and went to the dresser. She picked up the envelope with the green bow on it. “What is this?”

  “Your Christmas gift.”

“Your gift to me is under the tree upstairs.”

“This is another one. I didn’t want you to open it in front of your dad.”

Darlene opened the envelope. She pulled out a piece of paper and read it aloud. “A one-hundred-dollar gift certificate to Debra’s Lingerie.”

“Yes, use it,” Trish said and ran her hand through her hair to separate the tangles.

“You know better than anybody that I don’t have use for lingerie. Who do I have to wear it for?” Darlene pouted.

“Yourself. Get some things that you can wear under your clothes. Even though no one will see them, you’ll know it’s there. A woman has more confidence when she is wearing something sexy under her clothes. If anything, it’ll give those granny panties of yours a break.”

Darlene shook her head. “For you I’ll try.”

  “Good.”

“Now, get dressed so we can have breakfast and open gifts. The parade starts at 11:30, and I want a good spot.”

“Ugh, Darlene, I really don’t want to stand in three inches of snow and twenty-degree weather to watch that cheesy parade. I can’t believe we liked it when we were kids,” Trish said with a frown.

“It’s not cheesy anymore. Not since ECTV started sponsoring it. They televise it.”

“Oh goodie,” Trish said as she dragged herself out of bed.

  ******

After Trish, Mr. Jacobs, and Darlene came back from the Christmas Parade, Trish fell asleep on the sofa upstairs. She woke up to Mr. Jacobs loudly snoring in the chair. She twisted her mouth in aggravation as she looked over at him. He had woken her up from a tantalizing dream about David.

In the dream, she was lying on her back on a bed. Her hair sprawled across a pillow. She watched him as he took his shirt and tie off. As he was unbuckling his pants, she heard snorting sounds, that’s when she opened her eyes and her dream ended.

It made sense that she dreamed of David since she was thinking about him before she fell asleep. She even thought of him during the Christmas parade - which she had to admit wasn’t that bad. She looked at her watch, it was two o’clock. David should be going house to house with his mother by now. Trish cursed herself for not taking Mrs. Shaw up on her invitation for dinner. She wanted to spend time with David; to learn more about him and his family. A woman shouldn’t be separated from the man she loved at Christmas. It was practically sacrilegious. Her eyes widened. Love.

She slowly sat up. “Oh, my God,” she said as she swung her legs to the floor.

Mr. Jacobs snorted a few times and continued snoring.

“I’m…I’m..in love with David,” she whispered.

Now that she knew this, Trish wondered what she was going to do about it. She couldn’t tell him. What if he didn’t feel the same? She’d be humiliated. At the same time, she couldn’t keep it a secret forever. Darlene had picked up on Trish’s feelings before she had. “Oh boy,” she whispered and stood up.

Darlene wouldn’t tell, yet other people could figure it out. It would be written all over her face eventually. She would have to be careful. If she spent more time with David, maybe his attraction to her would grow into love.

She thought of the dream she just had. With a little luck, it could become reality. She wanted him. Today. Tonight. Now. She walked to the desk next to the stairs and dug into her purse. She pulled out her cell phone and address book. Trish walked up the stairs and stopped on the landing. She turned and sat down at the top of the stairs.

She quickly opened the address book. Trish found the number she wanted and opened her phone. She dialed and prayed as it rang that he’d pick up.

  *******

Ted was watching TV with his father, Uncle Edgar, and Kelly, when his cell phone rang. He dug in his pants pocket and answered it. “This is Shaw.”

“Teddy, it’s Trish. Are you alone?” She sounded a bit desperate, and she was whispering.

“Uh, hold on a minute,” Teddy said and took the phone away from his ear. He stood up and started walking away.

“Where are you going?” Uncle Edgar asked.

“I need some privacy,” Ted said.

“Yeah, Teddy can’t talk to his girlfriend with us listening,” Kelly said with a smirk.

Ted smirked back at her and winked. He left the living room and went upstairs. Ted quickly went into his childhood bedroom and closed the door. “You still there?”

  “Yes.”

“What’s up, Trish?” he asked as his muscles tensed. Was she in some sort of trouble?

“I know this is short notice, but I need your help with a project,” she said shyly.

Ted cocked his eyebrow up. “Project? What is it?”

“First, how upset would your mother be if David missed the Christmas evening activities?”

A slow smile spread across Ted’s face. His muscles relaxed. He sat down on the bed. “Oh, I’m sure she’ll be fine with it if it was for a good reason,” Ted said with playfulness in his voice.

“Good. Here’s what I want to do.”

  Chapter 31

He lounged in an armchair next to the window. David was having a drink as he tried reading a book about international law. It wasn’t working. He couldn’t keep his mind off Trish. He wondered what she was doing. Did she get what she wanted for Christmas? He thought about the gift he had bought her. It was at his apartment. He didn’t have the nerve to give it to her because he thought it might frighten her. David didn’t want to scare her off because he expressed too much too soon. The gift was pretty expensive.

David looked up when the phone rang. His mother answered it.

David looked back down at his book. He heard his mother talking, but he wasn’t really paying attention until she called his name.

“David, it’s Ted. He needs your help,” his mother said with a straight face.

David quickly closed his book and stood up. He strode to his mother and took the phone from her.

  “Ted,” David said.

“David, you’re not going to believe this. I stepped out for a couple hours, you know, to visit one of my lady friends. On my way back, a weird sound started coming from the engine. By the time I pulled over the car completely died on me!”

“You just got that SUV.” David said with astonishment.

“I know! Luckily, I was only a few blocks away from your apartment. I walked there and let myself in with the spare key you ga
ve me. I hope that was all right. I couldn’t stay in the car I would have frozen to death.”

“It’s fine. I’m glad you were so close.”

“You mind picking me up. Mom will have a fit if I miss Christmas dinner.”

  “Sure, I’m leaving now.”

“Great, maybe we can share a quiet drink here before we head back. I already have a head start on you.”

“Figures. See you in fifteen minutes,” David said and hung up. He looked at his mother who had a wide-eyed look.

“He told you he broke down?” David asked.

  She shook her head.

“Don’t worry, Mom. I’m going to pick him up now, and we’ll both be back in time for Christmas dinner. He kissed his mother on the forehead and left the living room.”

Elizabeth watched her son leave the room as a slow smile spread across her face. Richard came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Is everything all right? David went out of here in a hurry.”

“Everything is wonderful. Our son thinks he’s picking his brother up because his car broke down, but it didn’t. David is going to get a surprise when he gets to his destination.”

“Oh? And what is the surprise?”

“The best Christmas gift he’s gotten in a long time.”

  *******

David was thankful that the plow trunks had done a good job clearing the roads. He was able to get to his apartment building within normal time. He knew Ted was knocking the drinks back because he sounded pretty angry about his car. Not that David blamed him. He just bought it last year.

David walked to his front door and tried the knob before he used his key. It was locked, so David pulled out his key and opened it. He walked in and closed the door behind him. David started to take his coat off. “Ted?” he called.

David threw his coat on the couch as he smelled food coming from the kitchen. He walked towards the smell. “What are you cooking, Ted? You know Mom’s got a four-course meal she’s been dying to serve all month,” he said as he walked into an empty kitchen.

David’s eyebrow arched. He looked at the table. There were fresh rolls and a casserole dish with macaroni and cheese. Then, he looked over to the counter. There was a white crockpot. He walked over to it and lifted the lid. It was a roast with carrots and potatoes around it. David slowly put the lid back and turned around. “What is going on?” he mumbled.

Walking out of the kitchen he called Ted’s name again. He thought he heard a female giggling - from his bedroom. David turned. His bedroom door was slightly open, and a faint light shined throw the crack.

He strode to the bedroom. “Ted, if you got a woman in here, I’m going to-” He stopped when he pushed the door open.

Trish was propped up against a couple of pillows on his bed. Her right leg was crossed over her left. She wore a red teddy and her fox fur coat draped off her shoulders. Her makeup was flawless, and her hair was curled at the ends – grazing her shoulders. One arm was propped up against a pillow beside her. The other arm lay across her stomach. Trish had a big smile on her face. She raised her hand and waved hello as her fingers moved back and forth. The covers were pulled down to the end of the bed. The room was lit with one white candle on the dresser across the room and another white candle that was on the table a few feet away.

His lips parted and his mouth watered. It was everything he could do to not drop to his knees.

  *******

He just stood there gaping at her. Had she gone too far? She did enter his home without his permission and set up camp. “I hope you don’t mind that I made myself…comfortable while I waited for you,” she said and started fingering the pillow next to her.

“No,” he whispered. “I don’t mind at all. How... how… did you-”

“Get in? Teddy let me in.”

  “He knew,” David stuttered.

“Yes. I wanted to see you, but I wanted it to be a surprise. I called Teddy, and he was very helpful,” she said nervously.

David took a few steps towards her. “Remind me to thank him.”

Her face beamed. She was afraid he was angry. “Are you hungry? The pot roast needs to cook for another hour, but there are strawberries on the nightstand. That should be a good appetizer.”

He was next to the bed, now. David didn’t take his eyes off of her. His eyes darkened as he loosened his tie. “Actually, I’m more interested in dessert.” David sat down next to her on the bed. He reached up and caressed the side of her face, and she leaned into his palm.

“This isn’t a dream is it? You’re in my apartment… in my bed… wearing next to nothing.”

“No, it’s not a dream. I’m here,” she whispered.

He leaned in and kissed her softly. She heard him kick off his shoes. He deepened the kiss as he climbed on the bed with her. She rolled over on top off him. David placed his hands on her upper arms and pushed down the fur sleeves to her wrists. She pulled her hands out of them and threw the coat away from the bed.

Their lips parted. Trish untangled the loose knot in David’s tie, and as their faces brushed against each other, she started to unbutton his white shirt. His chest rose and fell as she completed the task. David sat up as she smoothed her hands over his chest, pushing the shirt off his shoulders. David whipped the shirt the rest of the way off as Trish scooted down. She unbuckled his belt. He hissed when her hand brushed against the bulge in his pants as she unbuttoned and unzipped his dark gray pants. She started pulling at the waist of his pants. Helping her, he lifted his hips.

Trish pulled his pants down to his ankles and past his feet and then removed his black socks. Before she could take in his masculine form, David sat up and grabbed her by the shoulders. He pulled her back on top of him. His lips took hers. Sucking and licking, laying claim with his tongue. Trish allowed it for a moment, and then pulled her head away.

“What’s wrong?” he asked dazed and confused.

She smiled. “Nothing. I- I…just want you to let me have my way for a couple of minutes. Lay down,” she whispered and gently pressed his shoulders.

David did what she asked as she softly kissed his chest, letting the tip of her tongue graze his skin. He rubbed her shoulders as Trish kissed her way down to his erection. Taking his magnificent erection in her hand, she stroked it slowly. She softly kissed the tip as she stroked. Then, her tongue sensually licked around the tip. David groaned as his head fell back on the pillows.

The sound of his pleasure warmed her heart and thighs. She wanted nothing more than to please him – to make him feel like he was floating on a cloud. She sat up and shimmed her bountiful breasts outside of the teddy. When she laid back down, she took his organ into her mouth. Her breasts grazed his legs. He groaned again. Her head moved up and down as her tongue licked his shaft. David’s breathing was deep and ragged. She stopped sucking. Trish gently took him in her hand again and guided the tip of him across her nipple. A shot of pleasure rushed through her as her nipple grew taunt. Trish sucked in a breath. She did the same movement on the other nipple.

“Mmmm. I think you’ve had your way long enough,” he said in a ragged breath.

She placed his erection between her breasts and stroked his shaft. “Why? Aren’t you enjoying yourself?” she asked with a wide-eyed innocence.

David smiled. “Yes, but I don’t want it to end this way.”

“This way is nice, I promise,” she said as she continued to stroke.

He sat up and grabbed her shoulders. He smirked. “Another time. For right now, I want to do something better than nice.” David took a hold of her waist and pulled her up on top of him. He rolled her over on her back with ease.

He quickly pulled the red teddy off of her and stood on his knees. David’s eyes traveled up her body. “You’re so beautiful,” he whispered.

Trish shyly turned her head. “Oh, David.”

He lay down on top of her. “Look at me, sweetheart.”

  She turned her head.
/>
“You are the most beautiful thing that has come into my life.” He gave her a quick kiss and moved away.

Before she could wonder why he was moving away from her, the question was quickly answered when he parted her legs. Without hesitation, David dove his face into her womanhood. She gasped. He kissed and licked her button. He inserted his middle finger inside her core as he continued his kiss on her nub.

Trish placed one hand on her chest as her breath caught. David continued his seduction in her center. It felt like it went on forever. The teasing was torture. She couldn’t stand it anymore.

“David, please. Make love to me, now, please,” she groaned.

He slowly raised his head and pulled his finger out of her wetness. David slowly crawled on top of her. “Oh, sweetheart, how can I refuse? Especially, since I’ve wanted you to say that to me for weeks.” He positioned himself between her legs.

David placed one hand on the side of her face as his other hand reached between them. He guided his erection down her soft wetness. She let out a whimper. David found the entry point. Trish inhaled with anticipation. In one depth move, he entered her. She released the breath she was holding. David pushed in a little deeper, and Trish placed her hands on his back. Her hips wiggled with demand. He responded by slowly moving in and out of her.

Her eyes fluttered closed as the sensations below eased the repression she held onto for weeks. Then, David stopped. Her eyes flew opened. He was looking at her. His eyes were dark, and his breath was unsteady. Then, he started pumping again - never taking his eyes away from hers. Every time she started to close her eyes, David would stop.

She met his movements as he went in and out of her. After a few minutes, he gathered Trish into his arms and pulled her off the bed without breaking their connection. David rested her in his lap. She maneuvered her calves to rest under the back of her thighs. David started bouncing on his knees. He was so deep inside her that she thought was going to explode into a million pieces. Trish tightened her grip around him. Her breath quickening with each pump. Their bodies were mashed together like a Greek statue of two lovers.
