The Idle System Box Set

It took over two months to reach his destination. When he finally did, John went directly to the mountain that he initially dug down from. Along the way, he noticed that most of the surrounding villages had been completely levelled to the ground. There were no signs of anybody living but he didn’t think too much about it.
After arriving at the mountain, he travelled down the hole he dug and went through the deflecting metal into the underground world. He went down and found the cave with the Life Power liquid inside it. He took out a lot of nano metal from which he created an airtight shield around the cave and the umbrella shaped deflecting metal he made the last time he was here. He even made a chair out of the remaining nano metal and took a seat.
There was a sixth tab in the system where the Sleep options were. At the top was a Sleep button which would activate the skill. Below it was a chart of five empty lines into which he could program when the alarm should go off. Even further below that chart was the cultivation skill slot to place the skill of his choice in.
He opened the bottom line and thought about the cultivation technique he would be using. To his surprise, the empty line got filled with all the details of his technique. It even included the details of how he didn’t need to use a breathing technique, the four mind parts that would absorb the Life Power, the three mind parts that would merge the Life Power, and also the conversion of these parts into Toxin Power.
Opening the five empty lines, he thought about the conditions he wanted to be awoken for.
1. If there is a creature with enough strength to threaten my life within my Scan’s reach
2. If anything goes wrong with my cultivation technique
3. When I have enough Life Power or Toxin Power to become a Rank 7 immortal
4. If the Life Power in the area drops by 25% of what it was when I activated Sleep mode
5. If my communication device goes off
After making sure he set everything up correctly, he used his communication device to tell Sarah he was going to use his sleep mode. They took another minute to bid each other their bittersweet goodbyes.
After he finished talking with Sarah, he placed the communication device in his shirt pocket. Taking a deep breath, he looked at the Sleep mode button in the sixth tab, smiled, and pushed it. His vision went blank and his head and arms dropped as he sat in the chair motionlessly.
Sarah sat on the couch. She still had her communicator in her hand from her last call with John. With a sigh, she finally moved.
She put on her nano helmet to change it to her silver skull look and walked towards the shed where she planned on opening her medical practice. It was only an hour away from the grand opening.
There were eight single beds on each side of the walls and her desk was at the back wall in the middle. When seated at her desk, she would be able to see all sixteen patients.
It isn’t a lot, but it’s a start.
As she opened the door to her practice, she wasn’t expecting to see her first patient standing there.
To her surprise, it was a familiar face. She recalled a heavyset woman, someone she’d threatened years ago. The woman was holding a sword in one hand, staring straight into Sarah’s eyes. On her face was a nervous smile.
“I’ve finally found you!” the woman cried out. In a flash of motion, she rushed at Sarah, blade in hand.
Afterword IV
Thank you for reading the fourth book of the series! I hope you’ve enjoyed the story so far.
There are a few things I want to say.
First, please leave a generous review on Amazon or Audible on all the books in this series as that helps me more than you’ll realise and can even motivate me to write that little bit extra.
Second, me and a few friends have set up a website for people who want to read for FREE. Yes, there’s options to donate to support authors who post their work on there, but if you decide not to, then that’s fine.
There’s amateur works, semi-professional works, and even a few professional works on the website, all different genres, too. Chances are they’re going to have at least one novel you’ll enjoy and it’s free!
They have their own discord channel to answer any questions you might have, and even I’m on there quite often so feel free to join.
The website is Moonquill.com so go and enjoy some free reading.
Last but not least, if you enjoy my work then fill in your details on the signup forum (link at the bottom) for email updates from me. The updates will include when the next book is out or if there’s a delay.
I personally hate it when I’m waiting for something to become available only to have no news on when it’ll become available! I would hate to keep you in the dark like that.
Anyway, thanks again for reading.
Hope you enjoyed the story.
Pegaz.
