Edison, with his online license, presided, but we had written our own vows. We faced one another and held hands.
“I, George, take you, Bennett, to be my husband. I promise to remember how lucky we are to have found one another again. I will always be grateful for the blessings of our children and do my very best to be there when any of you need me. I love you.” I slid the ring on his finger.
“I, Bennett, take you, George, to be my husband. I promise to love you and our children and to never make the fates regret bringing us back together. I live for your smiles and kisses, and the best part of every day is when you get home and we are all together. I promise never to let you make waffles again without supervision. I love you.” He slid my ring on while I tried not to burst into laughter, and a murmur of confusion went through the crowd.
We’d come very close to not having the wedding, due to a small waffle iron fire the night before. Now we’d have to tell everyone about that. My cheeks flamed, but I grabbed him and bent to take his lips while Edison protested, “I didn’t say you could kiss yet! I guess I now pronounce you husbands.” He lowered his voice. “I want to know about the waffles.”
When we finally stopped kissing, we looked at each other and smiled. Because...how much more happiness could there be in life.
And I’d never seen it coming.
Chapter Nineteen
George
I wish I could say we had a rollicking honeymoon of nonstop sex, but just like the shower, the wedding was tiring for my blossoming omega and maybe even me. It was wonderful, with dancing and eating and just being with our friends, but at the end we fell into bed and I tucked him close against my body, spooning him, my hands pressed to the mound that was our babe. Sometimes that was every bit as satisfying.
Okay. It was a different kind of satisfying.
But by the next day, we were back to our usual selves and, with the blessings of his doctor—with whom I checked at every appointment—we made love nearly every night. And as the months passed, we made accommodations for his changing shape and size. I even bought a book entitled, Lovemaking During Pregnancy—How to Keep Things A’Rocking and Rolling. Hokey title for sure, but the images and explanations were invaluable in, well, keeping things a’rocking. Well into his eighth month. But he was dragging by then, and so did our rocking and...well, you get it. We cuddled, I gave him massages, and we talked late into the night.
Before we knew it, we were almost there. In fact, we were there. “Anytime now,” announced the doctor. “Plan on your appointment for next week, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if next time I see you is in the hospital, getting ready to meet your son. Excited?”
Bennett groaned. “More than you imagine. My back aches, my ankles are bigger than basketballs, and I pee every five minutes.” He was exaggerating, but not by as much as I’d like. “Anything we can do to speed things along?”
“Well, you can eat spicy foods...exercise is good. It’s always good, but at this stage it can help stimulate labor. Oh, and sex. Some of my patients report it’s more than an old husbands’ tale.”
I’d heard this, too, but Bennett looked down at his bump and up at the doctor. “I haven’t seen my dick in a while. If I wasn’t peeing constantly, I wouldn’t know it was there…”
The doctor smirked. “Then maybe your alpha can help you find it.” He winked at me. “You up for the challenge?”
“I think I can do that.”
A tear trickled down Bennett’s cheek and I dropped to one knee beside his chair. “What’s wrong? Does something hurt? Is it labor?”
He swiped it away. “I wouldn’t be crying for that. No. It’s just...I’m so swollen and wretched and whiny and ugly. No wonder you don’t want to have sex with me.”
Oh dear gods.
“Bennett...I do want to. So much. I —”
“Gentlemen, I’m going to leave you alone to work this out.” The doctor slipped out the door. “See you soon.”
I stood and helped my omega to his feet. “I am so sorry you think that. I just thought you were too uncomfortable to want to anymore. Let’s go home where I can show you just how sexy I think that baby-bearing body is.”
We strolled out through the lobby and waved to the receptionist, but all I could think about was getting him home and getting him naked. I’d been fighting temptation to jack off in the shower lately, every image in my mind, him. But he was so achy, moving so slow...I’d very mistakenly assumed he wanted massage more than sex.
As we walked into our home, he stopped and gave me a serious stare. “That book of yours? What does it say about late-pregnancy sex?”
I shrugged, embarrassed and a little ashamed. “I haven’t looked at the last couple of chapters.”
“Then let’s do that!” Bennett moved toward the stairs with more energy than I’d seen from him so far. “Is it still on the nightstand?”
“Yeah.” My dick was starting to get hard. “Did you want to read?”
He gave me such a hot look over his shoulder, my cock rocketed to 100 percent hard. “Let’s just look at the pictures.”
“Oh yeah, let’s do that.”
We were naked on the bed in under a minute, the helpful volume open to the last chapter, entitled, “When the Doctor Says You Can Help Things Along: During the Final Weeks.”
A series of photographs of an alpha and omega engaging in sex in the spoon position filled the pages. Bennett grinned. “Well, we’ve been close...now let’s make it so.”
So horny I was about to explode, I still made an effort to be a good guy. “Sure you don’t just want a blow job? I think your coming is the idea, for labor, anyway.”
He rolled onto his side and thrust that sexy ass toward me. “Just fuck me already. I’m ready for you, alpha.”
Not a complete idiot, I worked my dick between his cheeks, finding him as slick as ever, and wondering how I could have laid here night after night and not at least tried to see if he was interested. “With our next child, we’re going to communicate better.” I thrust inside, shuddering in instant pleasure.
He moaned. “Can we just get this one out before you talk about putting another in?” He rocked back against me, already panting. “Although the mechanics are almost worth the ankles.”
I reached around to grasp his dick and stroke it, reacquainting myself with the ridges and bumps and swollen head. He’d needed me as much as I’d needed him. My heart swelled with love for him.
We fell into the rhythm that had been ours since the very first time. He was hot and tight and slick. I was hard and tense and lost in him. Nuzzling his neck, I murmured every word of love I could think of and some I knew made no sense. But it didn’t matter. He understood what I meant. And I hope he understood how much I wanted him, how sexy I found him, not just when he was his lean self, but now when he was swollen with my child.
We’d both been without for too long because just I couldn’t hold back. A dozen strokes in, he trembled and spurted in my hand, and I followed, pouring my cum into his body. I hadn’t even dropped to lie next to him when he cried out and gripped his belly.
“Oh gods, it works.”
Chapter Twenty
Bennett
“Are you sure? George kept asking while he got our bags, while I quickly showered then again while we got into the car, and now as we exited off the highway and turned into the hospital parking lot.
“If you ask me again, my love, I’m going to scream and not from the pain,” I ground out, trying hard to balance my frustration with my nervousness. Yeah, I was nervous, too, even though I wanted to pretend I was the super dad and had done this plenty of times. Truth was, I did this once and Parker came out in less than three pushes. Also, that was almost ten years ago.
“Sorry. We are here. Let’s go have ourselves a baby. Are you sure Liam was fine with taking Parker?”
We’d dropped Parker off with Liam before coming to the hospital. We gave him the choice and he chose to come after the birth but wanted us to call as s
oon as his brother was born.
I waited in the car while George ran in and said something to the woman at the front counter. Whatever he’d said, probably something about his omega about to pop out a babe, it spurred her into action and she came running out, pushing a wheelchair.
George helped me out of the car and into the chair, and the rest was one big blur of pain and counting and breathing and screaming. At one point, I looked at George who had lost all the color from his face while I lay in the bed, legs up, trying to push.
“I see the head. Let’s get this baby born,” the doctor said, and one hard and long push later, a little person, red and yelling was put on my chest.
“You did it,” George said with a tone of awe.
“I told you I could,” I joked as he leaned down to kiss me.
“He’s perfect. We never decided on a name,” my alpha said, barely allowing the nurses to take our babe to clean him up. He stood by me through the process, his hand in mine, but his gaze firmly on our son.
When they handed him back to us, clean and now quiet, George cleared his throat as he touched our son’s nose. “I think we should name him Daniel.”
“Daniel?” That wasn’t one of the names we’d discussed, but somehow it fit when I said it out loud. “That works. Daniel George.”
He nodded and a tear fell down his face. This time he was here for the whole thing. “I have to call Parker.”
He called our other son and told him the news then spoke to Liam who promised to bring Parker up as soon as possible.
Our son took to nursing like a champ, and soon we both fell asleep. My eyes closed while I watched George hold our babe in the recliner next to my bed.
The weeks after the birth were calm and quiet. Daniel was a dream baby compared to Parker, and I supposed most of that was because of me. With Parker, I’d been a nervous wreck. I missed George and was terrified of being a single father and screwing everything up and, in turn, pushed some of that anxiety onto Parker, I thought.
Parker took to being a big brother as though he was born for the job. He changed diapers and asked questions about everything. In the mornings before he went to school, he would go into the nursery and speak in hushed tones to Daniel about school and his friends and how he would see him in the afternoon. And as soon as our elder son got home, he would plop down on the recliner and hold Daniel and tell him about his day.
My papa instinct was right to move him here. Our whole lives had changed.
I heard a click behind me as I watched Parker hold Daniel and turned to see George taking a picture of them. The man took more pictures than a photographer.
“Look at my little men,” he said, putting his phone away and wrapping his arms around my middle. My tummy was still squishy from the pregnancy, but George didn’t seem to mind. Though I wasn’t completely healed, we’d been intimate in other ways.
“I was thinking,” I whispered, not wanting Parker to hear just yet.
“What?” George said, kissing my neck.
“How about a little weekend getaway before I get back to working from home and the real chaos begins?”
George’s hands trailed down to my hips and pulled me against his groin. “That sounds nice. How about the mountains. Clean air, quiet. Parker and I can go fishing and at night, you and I can play.”
I smiled at the thought. We needed some time away, and Parker had never been to the mountains.
“That sounds perfect. I’m glad I moved here and found you.”
He chuckled and nibbled on my neck and then ear, sending shivers down my spine. “I’m glad you found me, too. Now look what we have.”
As I looked at Parker now reading a book to Daniel who could care less except he loved for his brother to talk to him, I knew our family was whole.
