by Dawn Sullivan

Shaking her head, Aurora extinguished the fireball and crossed over to her new friend, pulling her into a hug. “It’s good to see you again, Desi.”

The young demoness had been by twice in the past couple of weeks to see her, and it hadn’t taken long for Aurora to figure out that the princess was lonely. She had no friends in that huge palace of hers. Also, she knew Desi was keeping an eye on her. Making sure Darius hadn’t found her or Mist. No matter what her father said, Desi searched for her brother. Her other brothers were also searching for him, but Desi felt as if it were her duty to bring him to justice. Nothing Aurora said could sway her.

Desi smiled shyly, glancing over her shoulder. “I brought someone to meet you, Aurora.”

  “You did?”

The king of demons appeared from the living room, pride in his eyes as he looked at his daughter. “Desdemona has wanted to do something special for you after everything that happened with Gerard and Darius, Aurora.” Aurora saw the pain that entered the man’s eyes at the mention of his son, but it was quickly masked. “I would say she came up with the perfect thing.”

“Oh, Desi, nothing that happened was your fault. You didn’t have to…”

Aurora stopped, her words leaving her as a woman rose from a chair in the living room behind where the king stood. She smiled, her eyes misting over with tears as she took a step toward her. “Aurora. So beautiful. Just like your mother.”

Aurora didn’t have to ask the woman’s name. She knew. Had felt the connection the moment she saw her. “Daniella,” she breathed, and then she was across the room with a sob, her arms around the grandmother she’d never met, but who her mother had loved so much. “Grandmother.”

Daniella cried softly, holding her close. “Yes, sweet child. I am your grandmother.”

  “But, how? I don’t understand? Darius said…”

“Darius lied,” the king told her. “He never found your grandmother. She was safe, hidden from harm until Desi tracked her down.”

“I hated what they did to my mate,” Daniella whispered, “but it was my home. It was where I was happiest. Where I left my heart. I had to return.”

Aurora swallowed hard, holding her grandmother tightly for a long moment before looking over at Desi, smiling through her tears. “Thank you,” she whispered, knowing the other woman heard her when a wide grin covered her face. What an amazing person her new friend was. One she was blessed to have.

Aurora felt Noah’s gaze on her, felt his love through their sacred bond. She raised tear-filled eyes to look at him. He smiled, and she felt the strength of his love pouring off him deep in her soul. Her heart was full.

  Chapter Fifteen

She moved through the forest of trees, all senses on alert. It was quiet. Even the birds seemed to have left the area they were in. It was a game they played, hunting each other. One she was getting good at. Pausing, she raised her head and sniffed, excitement strumming through her when his scent tickled her nose. He was close.

Switching direction, she turned away from where his scent was coming from, slowly making a wide berth around where she perceived him to be. Then, she started closing in behind him. Slowly, stealthily, making sure to keep his scent in front of her like she’d been taught. There! He was just a few feet away, his large head swinging back and forth as if in confusion. Probably trying to figure out why she would be moving in a circle.

Not waiting, knowing she had to act now when he least expected it, she sprang at him on all fours, plowing into him and taking him to the ground. She got him! A low growl vibrated up his throat, and he bared his large teeth at her, wrapping his powerful arms around her.

Aurora shifted, her laughter spilling out around them. One moment, she was in the arms of a bear, the next she was being held tightly against Noah’s skin, slick with sweat. A hand slid up into her hair holding her head still as his lips found hers, hard and demanding. “Mine!” It was a snarl made around his fangs, a claim that she would never deny again.

“Yours,” she breathed, moving her hips slightly, and then sliding down on his rock-hard erection. He groaned as her wet heat enveloped him, arching up into her, again and again. Tearing his mouth from hers, Noah rasped, “I’m never letting you go, my witch.”

“Good,” Aurora whispered, pushing herself up, her hands braced on his chest. “Because I will hunt you down if you try.”

Noah’s eyes darkened even more with desire, and he growled, “My witch,” right before he reared up and found her shoulder with his fangs.

Moaning in pleasure, Aurora felt her own incisors drop, and she found the mate mark she’d left on him just the night before. She sank her fangs deep into the man she loved as she came, satisfaction filling her when she felt him pulsing inside her. “My everything.”

  About the Author

Dawn Sullivan has a wonderful, supportive husband, and three beautiful children. She enjoys spending time with them, which normally involves some baseball, shooting hoops, taking walks, watching movies, and reading.

Her passion for reading began at a very young age and only grew over time. Whether she was bringing home a book from the library or sneaking one of her mother's romance novels to read by the light in the hallway when she was supposed to be sleeping, Dawn always had a book. She reads several different genres and subgenres, but Paranormal Romance and Romantic Suspense are her favorites.

Dawn has always made up stories of her own, and finally decided to start sharing them with others. She hopes everyone enjoys reading them as much as she enjoys writing them.
