“And a weak stomach,” Mackenzie says with her hand wrapped around her waist. “If it wasn’t for Emmie, I wouldn’t have eaten a thing. She did all the research for me and helped get my morning sickness under control.”
Hux takes a breath. “We need a do-over honeymoon. You up for heading to the Big Bear Resort for the weekend?”
“As long as you cater to me hand and foot,” she says.
“Deal.” Hux doesn’t hesitate before landing another kiss to her lips.
Sherlock barks and Fish mewls as two familiar faces stride this way, and one of them happens to be both cute and furry.
Fish jumps out of my arms and beats us to them.
“Morgan,” I say as Jasper and I meet her halfway. “Hey there, Acorn.” I bend over and give him a hearty embrace, and once I let go, both Sherlock and Fish take over. “I’m so glad you decided to show up.”
“I had to.” Morgan shrugs. “You did a lot for me, Bizzy. You both did.” She looks up at Jasper. “Congratulations, Detective. I hear the department gave you honors for helping bring down the drug king of Edison.”
Jasper flexes a smile. “And I swiftly turned that honor over to my wife and to you.” He nods. “Thank you for helping with that.”
She nods as her expression grows sober. “I just wish I had gone to you first, instead of asking my sister to switch places.”
“Don’t go there,” I tell her. “There’s no point in playing what if.”
“I know.” She takes a breath. “Congratulations on the grand reopening, Bizzy. I’m glad things are working out for you. And please don’t be a stranger. Come out to the Haunted Book Barn. I’d be thrilled to see your face. Who knows? You might even see a ghost.” And who would have guessed it would be the ghost of my own sister. I’m not saying a word. I’m still freaked out that I’m the one seeing her. No, this is definitely something I’ll have to get used to. And to think Mabel was telling the truth all along that she was seeing our mother’s ghost. At least now I know why.
I nod her way. “Oh, Morgan. I think I know why, too.”
She gives a few quick blinks of confusion and I quickly tell her all about the transmundane, about my telesensual abilities, and what I suspect are her abilities, too.
“I think you’re supersensual,” I say, looking into her lavender eyes. “And I think your sister was, too.”
A choking sound comes from her as she looks from Jasper to me.
“You’re right.” She swallows hard. “My mother, I saw her, too, and she told Mabel and me about it. I guess that was her lot in life, and my sister’s, and for some reason, it’s mine now, too. I’m not going to tell anyone, though. They’ll think I lost my mind. Heck, I’m still not convinced I haven’t.”
“Jasper and I won’t say a word,” I tell her. “And it’s wise you don’t either. Are you going to be okay by yourself out in Glimmerspell?”
“Aside from Mabel and my mother, I won’t be alone. My Aunt Billie, who is very much still living, is moving out to Glimmerspell with her daughter.” She wrinkles her nose. “Nasty divorce.”
“Sorry to hear it, but I’m glad you’ll have family around. I’ll stop by next week and check up on you.” I pull her into a firm embrace. “I’m so glad our paths crossed. I’d like to think this was the reason.”
“I’m sure it was.” She wipes the tears from her eyes. “I think I’ll hit the refreshment table. Those snowballs were calling out to me as soon as I stepped into the room.” She takes off with a wave as Fish, Sherlock, and Acorn romp around in her direction, thrilled to be reunited.
I spin into Jasper’s arms and pull him close. “It’s all over, and yet it’s a new beginning. The inn is thriving, and I only see things going up from here.”
“And that’s exactly why we’re celebrating.” He lands a heated kiss to my lips. “I believe page ninety-three of our favorite new book outlines exactly how to do that. As soon as this shindig is over, we’re page ninety-threeing it all over that cottage.”
I bite down on a smile. “Why wait until page ninety-three when page thirty-seven specifically says that spontaneity rules the roost? Come to think of it, I may have left a very important stack of non-existent papers back at the cottage. How about if we steal away and go get them right now?”
“Right now?” A wicked gleam takes over his eyes right before he takes me by the hand and navigates us out of the room. “I knew I married a brilliant woman.”
We hit that cottage and I show him exactly how brilliant I can be.
The killer is behind bars, the inn is bustling, there’s a new day on the horizon, and even a book club to look forward to.
The Grim Readers will be meeting up here at the inn in just a couple of weeks, and I don’t see a single thing that can go wrong with that.
Mostly.

My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and so is my baby. It’s time for my birthing classes to begin but something earth-shattering has happened to someone I love most and I can’t seem to focus on anything else—that is until something goes very wrong at the Love Your Selfie Soiree thrown by Cormack and Cressida and someone ends up dead. Now I have two things to keep me up at night, long before the baby ever arrives. Love is in the air and so is murder.

An impending divorce. A hot homicide detective. And spontaneous time travel.
Midlife in Glimmerspell is proving to be magical.
If I thought the first half of my life was a bumpy ride, I’d better buckle up because I’m about to go over the hill and off the rails.
After catching my husband in bed with another woman, I gave him the heave-ho, put our house on the market, and moved away to an enchanting little town for a brand new start. What I didn’t count on was the fact that enchanting little town might just be—enchanted.
Glimmerspell is rumored to be home to vampires, werewolves, and fae, but those are just simply gimmicks to lure tourists to their snowy little town—aren’t they?
Nevertheless, I’ve got a job at the Haunted Book Barn where my niece films her infamous video blog—Murder, Mayhem, and Baking. She’s somehow wrangled me into helping out with whipping up the sweet treats, and in the middle of filming an episode a hot flash strikes and I’m transported to another time, place, and another day entirely.
If I thought the first half of my life was a bumpy ride, I’d better buckle up because I’m about to go over the hill and off the rails.
Midlife in Glimmerspell can be a real killer.

Snowball Cookies
Hello, it’s me, Bizzy Baker Wilder! These Snowball cookies are not only out of this world, but they are easy-peasy to make! If you’re looking for something sweet to eat while curling up by the fire with a good book then you’ve just met your cookie. I recommend doubling your ingredients because not only do these have a tendency to disappear, but they are bound to become your go-to wintertime snack!
Ingredients
2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup softened unsalted butter
½ cup powdered sugar
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup Pecans, toasted and finely chopped
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°
Line two cookie sheet pans with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl cream together softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. A stand mixer works well for this!
In a separate bowl combine sifted flour and salt. Slowly add dry ingredients to creamed butter mixture. Add finely chopped pecans and mix until well blended. *If dough is too dry add 1 -2 teaspoons water.
Form dough into walnut-size balls and line cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Enjoy!
