“But why are you doing it?”
“Because you said to support her.”
I grabbed him by the collar of the shirt and pulled him to me. “Support her legs and back, dumbass.”
“Oh!” He glanced sheepishly at Isa. “Okay, baby. I got this.”
“No, I got this. You’re useless!” Isa yelled.
“Hunter!” Sinner ran in the room. “Cara’s ready to push, but Ali’s with Lucy and Kate’s with Vanessa.”
“Okay, just like you did with Freckles. It’s easy. Get Cap to help you.”
“I can’t do this!”
“What the hell do you mean?” I yelled at him. “You said that you could do it! You said you knew what you were doing.”
“I do, but only from the back. Cap did all the hard work. I just held Maggie as she pushed.”
“You stupid fuck! Go get Cap. He’s going to have to do it.”
“I need you. I can’t let him see my wife’s vagina!”
“I have a baby coming right now.” I lifted the sheet over Isa’s belly and showed Sinner the baby crowning. “Do you see the head crowning?”
Sinner closed his eyes and scrambled backwards, falling over a chair and smacking his head on a dresser. “Why the hell did you do that? I didn’t need to see that!”
“Get the fuck out of here,” I yelled at Sinner as I got in position to deliver. Sinner ran out of the room and Isa started pushing. Gabe stood next to Isa and held her hand. When Isa started pushing, Gabe’s face turned bright red.
“You have no idea how bad this hurts!” Isa yelled.
“I do, babe. I know what you’re going through. When I delivered, I tried to think of happy thoughts. Just keep picturing the baby coming down the birth canal. Think of the first time you see that goopy face and those little fingers and toes. Try not to think of your vagina ripping in two. That’ll make the pain worse, trust me.”
“One more push, Isa!” I wiped the baby down as he slid out. His airways were clear and he let out a healthy scream. “Congratulations, you have a son.”
“I have a boy,” Gabe said in fascination. “I did that. That’s my y chromosome right there. Yeah, baby!” He ran out of the room, running down the hall and screaming. When he came back in, I had his son cleaned up and laying on his mom’s chest.
“What are you going to name him?”
“Grayson,” Isa smiled.
“What?” Gabe asked. “No, we need a manly name. Grayson is so girly.”
I ran out of the room, wanting to get to Lucy before she had our kid. When I got to the room, my experience flew out the window and the nervous dad inside took over. I ran to her side and watched as she delivered our kid.
“What is it?” I said anxiously.
“A girl,” Ali smiled. She handed her over and I about passed out. She was so freaking beautiful that all my protective instincts took over. This was going to be bad. How the hell was I going to deal with this? I had a little girl that would soon be subject to another man’s dick.
I handed her over to Lucy and stormed out of the room and over to Isa’s room. “You keep your son’s dick in his pants. I better not catch him anywhere near my little girl.”
“Me? You keep your daughter away from my son. I’ve seen the way you and Lucy fuck. If anyone’s going to do the pursuing, it’s going to be your daughter.”
“Are you calling my daughter a whore?”
“If the shoe fits,” Gabe said angrily. I was blinded by rage and charged, ramming him into the window. If it wasn’t bullet-resistant, we would have gone through the window. Gabe threw me off him and kicked me in the stomach. Picking up a table, I smashed it over his head and watched in victory as he crumpled to the ground with blood gushing from his head. I turned to go chew out Knight. His son was already three months old and in prime condition to start wooing my daughter.

Sinner
I ran into Vanessa’s room and grabbed Cazzo by the shirt. “You have to help me, man. Cara’s gonna have the baby and you’re the only one that can help.”
“I can’t help. I’m having a baby!”
“You can take Kate’s place and she can come deliver my baby.”
“I don’t know the first thing about birthing a baby.”
I glanced over at Kate and frowned. “It doesn’t look that hard. Hey, Kate!” She turned to me with a raised eyebrow. “Show Cazzo what to do so I can have you deliver my baby.”
“You’ve already done this,” Kate said. “Here, I’ll give you a refresher course.”
She lifted the sheet before I had time to process what she was saying. A large vagina was staring at me and I fucking lost it. I slammed my eyes closed and ran from the room, slamming right into the door frame. Cazzo dragged me to my feet and slammed me against the wall.
“What the fuck is your problem?”
“People keep showing me vaginas! Why would someone do that to me?”
“Get your shit together. Your woman needs you.” Cazzo slapped me on the back and shoved me out the door. I stumbled to Cara’s room and stood sweating outside. I couldn’t go in there. I couldn’t actually see clearly anymore since I had bruises over both eyes.
“What are you doing out here?” Cap asked.
“Kate said I have to do it, but I can’t. I can’t even see!”
“Go get Rocco. I’m sure he knows what to do.”
“Yes!”
I ran into Cara’s room to check on her. She was breathing hard through a contraction and sweat was pouring from her face. “Mark, you need to get over here and deliver this baby now.”
“Me?”
“Yes, you! Who else is going to do it? You have to check and see if it’s time to push.”
I bent over awkwardly and glanced down under the sheet.
“Um, okay. I see hair, so I guess that means it’s time to push, right?”
“You don’t know?” Cara shrieked.
“I thought you knew!”
“Why would I know?” Cara shouted at me.
“Because you’ve done this before!” I shouted.
“I do the pushing, not the delivering!”
“Shit, don’t move. I’ll go find Rocco.”
I took off down the stairs and ran through the house like a wild man, calling for Rocco until I finally found him down in the game room. “What the hell are you doing down here? There are women upstairs that are having babies!”
I dragged him out of the room and up the stairs. He followed behind willingly, but I kept my hand on his shirt just in case he decided to try and run.
“Sinner, relax, man. I’ve got this. It’s not the first baby I’ve delivered.”
Rocco walked over to the bed and knelt down at Cara’s feet.
“Whoa, what are you doing?” I asked right before he was about to lift the sheet.
“She’s having a baby.”
“I know, but you’re going down by my wife’s vagina.”
“Well, how exactly did you think your wife was going to have the baby?”
“I know how, asshole, but I didn’t really think about the fact that you’d be so close to her. I don’t like this.”
“Do you want to do it?”
“I didn’t say that,” I said, running a hand over my face.
“Will somebody do something so I can push this baby out of me?”
“How about you trade places with Kate?”
“I can’t trade places when she’s in the middle of delivering a kid.”
“Then go get Ali.”
“She’s delivering a kid too.”
“Hello? Can someone come catch this baby?” Cara shouted.
“Just a minute, Lollipop.” I turned back to Rocco. “Okay, what are our other options?”
“What other options, Sinner? There are more women, but they aren’t trained in delivering babies.”
“I wasn’t trained either.”
“And you’ve never actually delivered a kid,” Rocco added.
>
“Hey!”
I turned to Cara and held up my hand to stop her. “Cara, just hold on. We’re figuring this out.”
Rocco grabbed me by the shoulders and then smacked me across the face. “You just have to suck it up and let me deliver your baby.”
“Not a chance in hell. No one’s seeing my wife’s pussy. Just grab one of the ladies that’s had a kid. They’ve been through it. They’ll figure it out.”
“It doesn’t work like that.”
“Says who?”
“Mark Sinn, get your ass over here now!”
I turned to Cara and practically dropped to my knees in shock. She was leaning over the edge of the bed and holding the baby’s head as she pushed it out. Rocco rushed over to her and I watched as blood and some goopy shit fell over the baby and onto the floor. I spun around and puked everywhere. When I was finished, I flopped back in a chair, staring at the ceiling.
“Uh, I don’t feel so good.”
Something hit my face and I flew backwards out of the chair.
“Asshole,” I heard Cara mutter.
CHAPTER THIRTY
Chance
“Morgan, I love Payton, but there is no way I want a kid anytime soon. Did you hear how loud all those babies were on the plane?”
“That’s because the pressure hurts their little ears.”
“I don’t give a shit what the reason was. I can’t stand any more babies anytime soon.”
We pulled into the lot of Reed Security and I grimaced at the destruction. I hadn’t been around when it burned down, so I was seeing it for the first time. It was hard to see everything around me in tatters. I didn’t have a home to go home to, no place to call my own.
“So, where are we going to stay now that we’re home?”
“I guess we’ll stay in the panic room. There’s plenty of room for us down there until I can rebuild.”
“Are you sure you want us staying with you?”
I pulled her into my arms and kissed her hard. “I need my girls next to me all the time. Now that I have you, I’m not letting you go.”
She smiled against my lips, but then Payton slipped between us and pushed us apart. “Hey, you guys are leaving me out!”
I swung her up in my arms and carried her on my shoulders as we walked toward the wreckage of the building.
“Hey, Sniper.” I turned and glared at Cap. I didn’t ever want to be called that again now that I associated it with Chief.
“What the fuck do you want?”
“Logan Walker is expecting your call. He’s set aside a team to start construction on your house right away.”
I took the card that Cap handed me and nodded in thanks. “I’ll give him a call first thing tomorrow.”
“You’re welcome to stay here as long as you need to.”
“Or you can come stay with me,” Jackson said as he walked up with Raegan.
“I think you have a full house as it is.”
“Sure, but we always have the basement.”
“Just stay away from the door next to the panic room,” Raegan said, eyeing Jackson from the side. I tried to figure out what she was getting at, but before I could ask, Morgan cut in.
“What’s behind that door?”
“Nothing,” Jackson said quickly. Raegan glared at Jackson, obviously not getting what she wanted out of him.
“I think we’ll just stay here for now.”
“What about your mattress and your hypoallergenic pillows?” Jackson asked me.
“I guess I’ll have to buy some.”
“No, you don’t,” Cap grinned. “Your panic room wasn’t damaged. I had Sean move all your beds and pillows into the panic room here.”
“When did you do that?”
“After we got out to Knight’s house.”
After I had gone missing. He didn’t even doubt that I would be found. This was why everyone at Reed Security was my family. They never gave up on anyone, and as much as they annoyed the shit out of me with constant questions about how I was doing, I always knew they cared, which was more than a lot of people could say.
“I guess I have everything I need then.”
Cazzo and Sinner got out of their SUVs and headed over to us. “Cap, did Knight get the panic room settings updated?”
“What do you need?”
“Car seats. We need the extras in the garage.”
“Let me ask him,” Cap said as he pulled out his phone. Another vehicle pulled in and parked close by. It wasn’t one of ours, and since we had all just been through hell, we all reached for our weapons immediately. A man stepped out of the driver’s side and a teenage girl got out of the passenger side.
“Can I help you?” Cap asked.
“I’m looking for Vanessa Adams.”
Cazzo pulled his weapon immediately and pointed it at him. “Who are you and what the fuck do you want with her?”
Vanessa got out of the SUV and walked over to us, looking curiously at the man.
“Vanessa, get back in the SUV.”
But she didn’t listen. She walked closer and then ran forward, flinging herself into the man’s arms. He looked at her with a familiarity that Cazzo wasn’t comfortable with. He stalked forward and yanked her out of his arms.
“Vanessa, who the fuck is this?”
“This is Daniel Cooper. He’s the man that helped me escape from my father’s house.”
