Deceptive (The Houston Defiance MC Series Book 6) Page 16

by K E Osborn

“Texas, what are you talking about?”

He spins to face me dead on with concern etched deep in his features. “Phantom, you’re family to me. You’re not just another club member, you are like my actual brother, more like a blood brother. I care about you and what happens to you.”

  “I feel the same, man.”

“So, I have to tell you my thoughts.”

“Is this part of your therapy or something?”

He scowls at me like that deeply offends him. “No, asshole, this is me trying to protect you.”

  “From what?”

He scrubs at his face like he’s having trouble saying whatever he is trying to. “From the moment Billie arrived, shit’s been fucking weird. We’ve had our secret locations and deliveries intercepted by someone we don’t know. Something happened the day we ran into her.”

I let out a loud scoff. “That’s a little convenient, don’t you think? Blame Billie when there are so many other explanations?”

“Tell me another explanation, Phantom? Give me something!”

Screwing up my face, I scowl at him. “You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”

“She showed up at the hospital. Ran some story we can’t validate. We took her in, just like that. You don’t think that’s suspicious? Because I sure as hell do.”

Throwing my hands in the air, I scoff. “Her background checks out. You’re wrong, Texas. Way off fucking base!”

“Then why am I not the only one who thinks there’s something off about her, huh?”

“The fuck are you talking about?”

Texas exhales, rubbing his hand over his bald head. “This isn’t just me, Phantom. This isn’t just some fly-by-night assumption here. Something is wrong. Something feels strange.”

“Texas, I don’t know what your game is here—”

“There’s no fucking game, Phantom. I’m just looking out for you.”

“Then be my brother and fucking support me, not shoot me down. Fuck!”

Texas groans, turning in frustration, then snaps back around to face me, anger clear in his eyes. “Will you wake up to yourself? Stop thinking with your fucking cock and see the bigger picture here—”

“Don’t fucking talk to me like I’m some horny college boy, Texas.”

“Aren’t you acting like one, though? Pull your head out of your ass and see what’s right in front of you!”

“And what is that, huh? A woman who needs our help, and my best friend is being a dick about it?”

Texas snorts out a laugh. “You’re fucking on crack! Her room is bugged, you dickhead! You think I’m the only paranoid one? Zero ordered fucking tracking, you idiot!”

My eyes widen, my ears begin to pound with the racing of my heart. My vision clouds over as my mouth goes dry. Adrenaline surges through me like nothing I’ve felt before.

  I feel twitchy.

  A man on the edge.

Like I have tunnel vision, and right now the rage surging through me could rival the heat of the sun.

I turn, he tries to follow me, but I spin back, shoving him away from me. His eyes widen when everyone notices the altercation. “Don’t! Don’t fucking follow me, asshole!” I storm off, making my way toward Zero, my wrath fully invested now on my president.

The man who is supposed to have my back.

The man who is supposed to protect us all.

The brother who is supposed to be my family.

He’s already looking my way. Texas and I made a big enough scene for everyone to start noticing.

Zero stands as I approach, and I grit my teeth as I try to hold my shit together enough not to punch him out. I have to remember he is still my fucking superior, my damn president.

“Phantom, talk to me,” Zero states.

I let out a mocking laugh. “Talk to you? That’s rich, Pres. Because it seems like your ability to talk to me is kinda moot somehow.”

Zero cranes his neck to the side and gestures for the chapel. “You wanna take this somewhere private?”

“I wanna know why the fuck you’re listening in on Billie? Why the fuck do you think it’s appropriate to listen in on my private time with her?”

Zero reaches out to grip my shoulder, and I shrug away from his grip. He nods his head like he realizes why I am so fucking angry. “Phantom, it’s my job to make sure the clubhouse is safe—”

“From me? From your fucking brother? Because that’s who your prying ears are listening in on too, Pres. You don’t fucking trust me? Is that what this has come down to now?”

  “It’s not about you, Phantom.”

“Then trust me when I tell you, you need to get those fucking bugs out of her room. Trust me enough to know when I’m making a judgment call on someone.”

Zero rubs at his beard, his eyes shifting to Neon, and he nods. “Take them out, Neon.” Neon hesitates, and Zero grunts. “Now, Neon.”

Neon takes off, heading for the stairs without saying a word.

  Fuck them all!

  Goddammit!

The fact my club has done this to me behind my back. The fact they were listening in on my time with Billie eats at my very core.

  I’m fucking raging.

  Goddamn furious.

“I would have never thought you would disrespect me like this, Zero.” I turn to head outside to try and work off some of this pent-up frustration.

“Phantom…” Zero calls out, but I just keep on walking toward the gym.

Billie’s eyes light in curiosity as I walk outside to see her sitting in a chair reading a book. Thank fuck she wasn’t inside to hear that shit.

Making my way over to the boxing bag, I yank off my cut and place it on the bench, then pull my shirt over my head, throwing it to the ground. Billie looks up, her eyes are wide, taking in my irate state. Not hesitating, I hoof it up to the boxing bag and slam my clenched fist into it before I follow it with the other. My knuckles burn against the leather while I pound into it continuously, needing to get my frustrations out.

Texas has never spoken to me like that.

He’s right, we’ve been through so much together.

I thought he had my back.

He’s found his happiness with Ash. So why would he try to stop me from finding my happiness with Billie?

And Zero, ordering a bug to spy on Billie, and inadvertently me? What the fuck!

Letting out a frustrated growl, I slam even harder, making the bag sway dramatically. I hit it with so much force it swings uncontrolled as I begin to lose myself in this fight.

Suddenly, Billie rushes over, sliding in behind me, her hands running along my biceps trying to soothe me. Her touch has the desired effect, and I stop my attack, letting out a heavy exhale as I stand panting for breath. She wraps herself around me from behind, simply holding me, letting me know she’s there.

That’s all I need right now.

“You wanna talk about it?” she whispers softly.

My chest heaves while I’m trying to calm down, and I blurt out, “Texas thinks you’re bad for me… that you’re bad for the club.”

She’s quiet for a moment, just processing, but then she slides in and up underneath my arm moving to my front. Her turquoise eyes hit mine like a blast of fresh air. “And what do you think?”

My red, swollen hand moves in, sliding a strand of her green hair away from her face. “I think you’re the best thing to ever happen to me.”

Her warm smile lights up the gym, then her head presses to my chest. “You’re the best thing to ever happen to me too.”

Wrapping my arms around her, holding her to me, I take in a few deep breaths and rest my chin on the top of her head. “You’d never betray me, would you, Billie?”

Her breathing quickens, her head snapping up to me, her eyes instantly glistening with tears. “Never,” she states.

  No hesitation.

  No waver in her voice.

  I can trust her.

Bringing my hand to the back of her head, I th
read my fingers through her hair and tighten. She gasps as I pull her head back slightly to expose her neck. “Good, because if you betrayed me or the club, that would be a big issue.”

She breathes heavily as I lean in kissing her neck, my lips trailing harsh kisses down her skin while her fingers claw into my back. “I’ll never hurt you intentionally, or if I have control over it, Phantom.” Her voice is a breathy whisper as I run my teeth along her jaw.

“Good. Goddammit! Keep it that way.” I slam my lips against hers, my tongue diving into her mouth as I claim her as mine.

She whimpers against my lips. She’s needy, desperate for me, her nails clenching into the flesh of my back. My hands run down to her ass, and I lift, walking her over to the weight bench. Her tongue collides with mine as we kiss frantically. My cock is rock-fucking-hard when I place her legs back down to the ground and pull back. “Turn around,” I demand.

A slow smirk lights her lips, and she turns, looking over her shoulder at me. I press down on her back, making her hands fall to the weight bench, causing her ass to pop out in front of me. My hands slide to her shorts, and I move in popping the button, then yank them down forcefully, along with her panties without a second’s hesitation. The fact that anyone could walk out here at any second is only heightening the arousal for me right now, and I don’t give two fucks what people think.

I make quick work of my jeans, and they drop to the ground, freeing my cock. I grab it in my palm, pumping a couple of times, and slide it up against her already slickened folds. “You’re wet for me already… good girl.”

  “Phantom,” she pleads needily.

“Hold on, Billie. This is going to be fast and fucking hard.”

She grips hold of the seat, and I grab hold of her hips, probably leaving a bruise as I thrust up inside of her without hesitation.

We both moan out in pleasure, her tight pussy enveloping me completely.

  “Fuck!”

Her head turns, looking over her shoulder at me. Her eyes are lit up with lust so intense it burns right through me. I pull back and thrust into her again, causing the weight bench to shift a little on the concrete.

She moans when I quicken the pace.

  I need this fast.

  I can’t hold back anymore.

Pummeling inside her, my hand moves to her hair. Tightening my fist in the green locks, I pull her head back as I push up inside her, and she gasps.

My girl likes it when I’m a little rough.

“Phantom,” she pants. “More, I need it rougher.”

A low growl reverbs through my chest as I yank her hair, pulling her up, holding with enough force to keep her back arched and head back far enough she can almost see me. My free hand grabs her throat with enough pressure to hold her in place, and my other hand moves from her hair to reach down, circling on her clit. I clench my fingers around her throat while rocking my hips into her. She presses back as we stand, fucking like animals in the damn gym.

She fights for her breaths as I choke her just the way she likes. Her hands find their way to my thighs, keeping me close, her ass grinding on my cock making me so fucking worked up.

Her body shudders, her skin slickening with sweat as her breathing hitches. She’s close, her muscles tense, and with one last circle on her clit, she screams out my name like a strangled cry, so loud everyone inside is going to know what’s going on out here, but I simply don’t care as her pussy tightens around my cock.

A tingle starts at the base of my spine letting me know I’m close, so I let my grip around her neck go as I thrust her forward again. She has to brace her arms on the weight bench to keep her balance as I slam into her with everything I have, gripping her hips with bruise-worthy force. She peeks over her shoulder, giving me a sly wink. I grin, pulling my hand back, slapping her on her perfect, round ass. She jolts from the sting, clenching her pussy tight in reaction. It’s enough, it’s all I need, as my balls tighten—the tingle shooting from the tips of my toes to my balls. The pressure builds, and I don’t have time to pull out before my cock tenses, and I explode inside her with a long, drawn-out moan. “Fuuuck!”

Panting for breath I just can’t seem to catch, I pull her up to me, her back now pressed to my front. Her fingers gently trace circles up my arms as I hold her from behind, still deep inside of her. “I let myself go…” I plant a tender kiss on her shoulder, letting out a long breath. “I shouldn’t have done that.”

She turns, pulling me out of her, and spins in my arms. “What do you mean? That was… fucking epic.”

Glancing down, my cock has a small amount of my seed still on the tip, and I shake my head. “I came inside you.”

Billie shrugs. “I’m sure Cherry can get me something from the pharmacy. She is a pharmacist, remember?”

“Still, I shouldn’t have been so reckless.”

Her hand comes up, gently stroking my cheek. “Somehow, it makes me feel closer to you… I’m not going to ask what happened, but if you want to talk, I am always here,” she whispers.

Wrapping my arms tighter around her, I slam my lips to hers because she’s right, I feel so damn close to her.

All the shit Texas said can’t be true.

Billie is so fucking good for me.

Right here, in this moment, she might be too good to be true, but I want to hold onto her for as long as I can.

Because she makes me a better man.

And honestly, how can anyone who does that amount of good possibly be bad?

  PHANTOM

  March

Texas and I are on the outs. I just can’t seem to shake the fact he’s not on my side after everything we have been through.

He has a problem with Billie.

I don’t know what his issue is.

Honestly, I don’t want to know.

I’m happy, and so is she.

The club, my family, all seem fine with her.

So, I am fucked off with his antics.

With shit at the club settling down over the last month anyway, his theory of Billie bringing trouble to the club is flawed because it’s all stopped. Whoever was hitting us has ceased their attacks, which gave us the all-clear to travel to the Daytona Bike Week in Florida. It’s an event where a bunch of clubs head out for a fun time. We don’t make it every year, but this year, with all the shit that’s been happening, the club really wants to take a break and spend time with the other clubs who will be there, and that’s what we’re going to do.

We hopped on a plane to Florida, hired us some rides for the week and a motel to stay near the rally, and now we’re making our way down Main Street. The atmosphere is buzzing with clubs from all around the US here to celebrate the biker lifestyle along with NOMADs and civies. It’s an all-around mixture of people. Therefore, we know to be on our best behavior. Well, as best as we can be if we want to have some fun.

While we are here, we’ve arranged to meet some of our brother chapters in the Peabody Auditorium. Our brother chapter from the Royal Bastards in Tampa was able to secure the location for us to have a get-together. We’re also expecting NOLA Defiance and Malice MC from Richmond, VA. It’s interesting how three completely different MC clubs can get along so well.

  It wasn’t always that way.

The Royal Bastards, Defiance, and Malice weren’t always on good terms, but with new lineage comes fresh alliances.

  Our bonds are tight.

  We work well together.

  It’s what brotherhood is about.

Pulling our rides into the auditorium lot, a mass of bikes already line the area. It’s easy to see we’re the last to arrive, and the party has started without us. A couple of bikers stand out back of the auditorium smoking their cigars as they chat, giving us head bobs as we all pull in.

Billie clings to me tight. She’s only been around Houston Defiance, and now she’s about to get a real taste of club life.

  I hope she’s ready.

We slide off my ride, and I turn to her. “You good
?”

She exhales softly. “Let’s do this!”

Wrapping my arm around her shoulders, I pull her to me. As a club, we all walk toward the back door of the auditorium. Hurricane from NOLA Defiance stands there smoking along with Falcon from Malice. They both dip their head at Zero as he walks past them.

“Nice of you to finally make the party, Pres,” Hurricane quips, and Zero flips him the bird.

Hurricane’s eyes divert to Billie. The bastard looks her up and down and lets out a fucking garish wolf-whistle. “She your Old Lady, Phantom?”

Tensing, I shake my head. “No, but she’s not available either.”

Hurricane folds his arms over his chest. “What’s her take on this situation?”

“Her take is… she is not available, just like Phantom said,” Billie snaps, making Hurricane chuckle.

“Shame! Your feistiness makes me want you even more. You change your mind, I’ll be right here.”

“I won’t, but thanks for the confidence boost,” Billie chimes, winking at him.

He slaps his hand to his chest faking a heart attack as we head past him and into the auditorium.

  “That was different,” she states.

  “What do you mean?”

Billie shrugs. “I didn’t expect him to just give up like that.”

I glance over my shoulder, and Hurricane has already moved on and is talking to someone else. “He’s a womanizer for sure, but he knows if a woman is here with a brother, she’s out of bounds. He respects the patch and everything we stand for as a club.”

When we walk in, there’s a NOLA brother up on the stage playing guitar. A bunch of club girls surrounds him as another is getting a lap dance in time to the music. I chuckle while Billie bops her head in time to the tune, not seeming to care about the display on stage. There’s no shock in her at all, not in her eyes or in her actions. That’s a little fucking weird? Someone who hasn’t been around this shit before should have some kind of a reaction. I guess she has seen a bit of this around our club, but we are tame compared to these guys.

The Royal Bastards have made a place for themselves in the darkest part of the auditorium, where the lights are turned off for some reason. I’ve heard stories about their president hating the light. His name is Nycto, and he’s fucking weird, if I’m honest. I’ve only met him once, and that was enough for me. Their club is more on edge than ours. We like to have fun. They like more… I don’t know, darker experiences?
