Laughing, I turn around, grab my long-strapped bag, and hoist it over my shoulder. He rearranges his cock in his jeans which makes me smile and steps back from the door. “I like those leather pants on you, by the way, totally nailing this bounty-hunter vibe.”
“You think?” I ask, waggling my ass in his direction.
“Jesus, Billie, I’ll meet you at my bike, you fucking temptress.”
Letting out a snicker, he turns and walks off as I grab my keys and head for the door. As I step over to his bike, he’s already sitting waiting for me. Moving in behind him, I wrap my arms tightly around his waist, feeling like I’m home. “Where are we going?”
He turns the engine over, revving it a couple of times. “You’ll just have to wait and see.”
“You spoil me.”
He turns, the grin he’s sporting lights his eyes. “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
Phantom revs the bike again for good measure, then he takes off, hammering down the quiet street. My neighbors complain all the time about Phantom’s bike, but honestly, I couldn’t care one little bit because he’s my ride or die. And I can’t imagine my life without him in it.
My pink hair whips back as I cling tightly, the vibration of the engine making me feel more alive than I have in my entire life. There’s something freeing about holding onto the man you love while he has control of a beast like this—something so strong and all alpha male.
As we head out onto the open road, we leave the cars for dust, and I love the feeling of being free, of being wild, of having no clue where our destination is. I’m completely open to Phantom right now, and the emotion flows through me, so I shoot my hands up, letting them fly out with the wind. My legs gripping hold of Phantom to make sure I don’t fall off. Phantom’s torso vibrates with what I can only assume is a chuckle as the wind wraps around me, making me feel like I’m flying.
I am finally where I’m meant to be.
Is everything perfect?
No.
We can’t be together at the club.
I’m still not a member of the Houston Defiance MC, but I believe in my soul that day will come.
I have to believe it will.
I know that time will come.
Phantom’s hand slides down, caressing my thigh as we ride, the gesture soothing and sweet. I love the vibe of this ride. So carefree. We love being together—if only it were that easy.
He turns off down a dirt track, and we head toward a giant field, but there’s a ton of cars parked out front. Tents and stalls and all kinds of shit are set up in the field.
What on earth is this?
But it’s when he turns off the bike that the heavy thumping bass instantly clicks in.
Excitement rushes through me, and I jump off the bike, my head snapping to the entrance. “Phantom, is this?”
“A music festival? Sure is!”
Rushing forward, I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him to me in a tight embrace. His arms slide around my waist as he plants a kiss on my neck. “Told you I’d bring you to one, one day.”
Leaning back, my eyes well. “Thank you… I mean it… you took a chance on me. At the hospital when I screwed everything up, you stood by me when you shouldn’t have, and I don’t deserve you.”
He slides off his bike, his eyes meeting mine. His hand moves to caress my cheek. “This has been glossed over a few times, and we’ve never actually said it, but Billie… I love you. I can’t help that, and I won’t walk away from it. No matter how fucked up our situation is or how hard it gets, I’m in this… with you.”
Blinking away the tears forming in my eyes, my bottom lip trembles. “I love you, too… so much… I think I have almost from the start. That’s why this was so hard. Why I fought it every step of the way. Why I tried everything I could to help Defiance in the end… for you, for them. I tried a few times to tell you and even tried to talk to Cherry, but every single time I was interrupted.”
His eyes drop from mine. “I get that, and I know.” His eyes move back to mine. “After everything, and the past couple of months… the way you have blossomed without Rage… it’s incredible to watch. But…” he exhales, “… Zero is steadfast on his ban on you from the club.” My eyes fall, filling with sadness. “For now anyway.”
It devastates me, but I understand. “I will keep waiting,” I tell him honestly.
Phantom pulls me in for a tight embrace and plants a tender kiss on my lips. The detonation that always ignites surges right through me as he slows the kiss and pulls back. “You ready to rock out?”
“Did you just say rock out?”
“Hell, yeah, I did. Let’s go, get our groove on.”
I snort out a laugh. “God, what are you? A boomer?”
He glares at me. “Hold your tongue, Billie, or I’ll have to bite it off.”
“Promise?” I wink.
He groans, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and starts dragging me toward the entry. “You’re gonna keep me on my toes, I can see it coming a mile away.”
“Oh yeah, you’re in for a wild ride.”
“And we all know how much I like riding things,” he quips in return.
Giggling, we walk toward the entrance, and I turn to him. “Thank you.”
“For my killer one-liners?”
“For bringing me here.”
He taps my ass playfully. “C’mon, we got a festival to get to.”
It’s been a long day, the festival was great, and I had the absolute best time with Phantom. We ate copious amounts of terribly unhealthy food. I danced until it was hard to breathe while Phantom stood back and watched me like a creeper. I didn’t mind, though, his eyes on me always make me feel like I am the most beautiful girl around. However, I did manage to get him to sing along to the music, and we sang at the top of our lungs in between making out—we made out so much my lips are swollen and puffy. I think if we could have found a place to effectively ‘get a room,’ we would have at one point.
We were having so much fun, I never knew I could have as good of a time as this. My life has always been dictated to me. Tonight, I was free, able to just feel alive, and it was so fucking nice to be able to share it all with Phantom. Not wanting any of it to end, I pushed at it until I could hardly keep my eyes open anymore, and we both decided it was time to head back home.
Making our way into my apartment, I’m already pulling off my boots as we walk in. My feet are killing me from standing up for so long today and dancing up a storm. Phantom chuckles when I collapse onto the sofa, letting out an exhausted exhale. He flops down beside me, and I slide into his side needing to be near him.
“That was so much fun. You’re officially my favorite boyfriend.”
He laughs. “Your favorite? How many do you have?”
I shrug. “Well, there’s the guy at the burger joint, he was my favorite for a while. He always gives me extra nuggets, so that immediately gives him extra cred.”
“Ah-huh, understandable.”
“Then there’s the guy at the gym. You know… the one with the eight-pack?”
“Eight?” Phantom states with raised eyebrows.
“Yeah, he’s real pretty, so he’s in contention. Gotta love the pretty ones.”
“Mm-hmm…”
“Then there’s—”
“Okay, that’s enough!” Phantom states categorically, pulling my legs out from under me, making me fall flat on the sofa. I let out a little squeal when he slides in over the top of me—the move sexy as sin. I bite down on my bottom lip as his mouth moves down to my neck, his lips grazing my skin. My eyes shut, and my breath shudders. “But do any of them do this?” he whispers into my ear, then bites down on my lobe, gripping it in his teeth and sucking on it. His free hand, sliding up to my breast and squeezing at the same time.
I let out a moan as my hips inadvertently rock forward into his growing erection. “Uh-uh,” I mumble incoherently.
“I didn’t think so. So tell me, Billie. I’m not you
r favorite… I am your only, aren’t I?” His teeth drag along the skin on my neck, his tongue sliding out, teasing my goosebump-laden flesh as I begin to pant.
“You’re my only.” I’m so breathless, I can hardly get the words out.
“Who do you belong to?” He grunts, thrusting his hard cock against my aching pussy, the leather pants are far too much interference between us.
“You… only you.”
His lips trail along my jaw in hard, rough kisses. I pant, practically heaving with want while he moves in, his eyes locking with mine, his electric blues staring with so much lust. “Don’t you forget it!” His lips slam to mine.
Hungry.
Needy.
Desperate.
Full of desire.
As his tongue goes rogue against mine, he kisses me deep, and every inch of me wants him like I have never wanted him before. He suddenly pulls back, taking me with him when he falls back onto the sofa in a sitting position, and I move on top, straddling him.
His hands slide up under my top, sweeping against my back as our lips collide again, his fingers instantly linking with my bra. He unclips it with ease, then his hands move to the front of my button-up shirt, and he rips it apart with force. Buttons fly everywhere while I grind down on his hard cock beneath me. All the move does is make me hotter for him.
He pushes the now ripped shirt over my shoulders and off, followed by the bra. Phantom’s lips leave mine, trailing down my collarbone pressing firmly along my skin toward my nipple. He pulls it in between his teeth, sucking on it with brutal need, which in turn makes my clit throb so hard I let out a moan.
My fingers run through his hair while holding his head to my chest, needing the friction. He circles his tongue ring over my sensitive nipple, and I let out a long moan. He pulls it back in, sucking hard.
My hands slide their way down between us, my fingers working frantically with his jeans, undoing the button and zipper.
Phantom slides my nipple out of his mouth with a pop, then hoists me off his lap. His hands come out, gripping the hem of my leather pants, and we work together to pull them down and off me. He then slides his jeans down enough to free his thick, hard cock. Licking my lips, my eyes focus on the huge length. I want to drop to my knees and take him in my mouth, so I start to make the move, but Phantom stops me. “Don’t you even think about it. I’m not wasting my load in your mouth. We’re fucking, so hop on and ride me like you mean it!”
His hands reach out, pulling me down, and my knees drop either side of his thighs as I shuffle into position. He pulls his cock up in line with my pussy and works it up and down my slickened folds. I’m already so wet for him, and he knows it.
“Fuck me, Phantom.” I wrap my arms around his neck and slide down on his length.
We both moan out in our pleasure. His fingers dig into my hips, pulling me deeper onto him. His hips thrust up into me at the same time, making the angle exactly what I need. “Damn, I needed this.”
We pant for a few seconds, both just trying to gain some equilibrium before my eyes lock with his, and something happens. The air around us shifts as we stare at each other. We begin to move together, and unlike the times before when we’ve been rough, hard, and dirty, we’re taking this at a slower pace.
The intense connection pulls us through. Something neither of us expected when we started, but the way the air is alive and buzzing, electro-charging with energy and excitement that’s so thrilling, it’s like we’re discovering a whole new side to our relationship. We know we can be rough. We know we can fuck. Hard. We do it so well, but this slower, more intimate sex is pretty fucking good too.
His eyes delve deep into mine, and as he rocks with me, his hands slide up my bare back, holding me to him. It’s like our bodies are connecting on a different level I didn’t think existed. This is so much greater, and I fucking love it.
He thrusts deeper, his hips rocking up into me, just how I like, the slow torturous rhythm driving me utterly crazy as I lean in kissing him.
Having all these sensations firing off at once makes my skin break out into goosebumps. My back arches in delight, as my muscles begin to quiver. The intensity of my climax builds while I kiss Phantom. Lights flash behind my eyes, dancing in a beautiful array of illuminations as I bask in the glow of the explosion that erupts. It hits me like a supernova as I moan into Phantom’s mouth.
He continues to kiss me, jerking a little beneath me, his muscles tensing like he’s getting close too. He breaks the kiss, and I fall against his chest just needing to breathe, but I keep riding him to get him there. Phantom’s hands move to my hips, pulling me on and off him. His mouth connects with my shoulder, his teeth sinking into my flesh as he comes hard with a long, drawn-out growl. The sting of his teeth on my flesh teamed with the feeling of his thick cock throbbing inside me at the same time he comes, almost brings me to climax again as both our bodies relax into each other’s arms.
Pressed against Phantom’s chest, I breathe heavily, trying to come down from the natural high of the moment.
Fucking him is always amazing, but this time it felt different.
Like we are closer now than we’ve ever been.
We may have this huge barrier, a massive wall between us, stopping us from truly being together like a real couple, we’re somehow making do. We’re happy with whatever we can get. With each other, it’s enough.
Phantom is unusually quiet while he lays back, running his fingers through my hair. He’s thinking, and I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing.
My head shifts up, and I look at him. “You okay?”
His kind eyes meet mine, and he smiles. “I want you to know and to hear this…”
“Okay?” I sit up a little taller.
His hands run up and down my arms soothingly. “What you did will never be forgotten in my eyes… but I can forgive and move on. The fact you’ve fought so damn hard to prove yourself to me and the club means everything to me.”
My eyes flood with tears as he wipes a strand of hair behind my ear.
“You killed your brother for me. Sacrificed your family to save mine. That shows the depths of feelings you held and still hold for me. I’ve said this, but I love you, and I think before all this shit even happened, I loved you… I just needed a minute to remember why.”
A slow tear falls down my face, and he wipes it away with his thumb. “I’m going to work my ass off to get back in the good graces of the club. Do whatever I need to for Zero to see I won’t do anything to cause trouble for Defiance.”
Phantom exhales. “What if they don’t ever let you back in? I love you, Billie. I want to be able to claim you, and I can’t do that. I love the club, but maybe I’m gonna have to choose.”
My eyes widen, and I shake my head adamantly. “No! I will never make you choose. If it comes down to that, then you choose the club. The club comes first! They are your family.”
He clenches his eyes shut like he’s having trouble dealing with this dilemma in his mind as he scrubs at his face. I hate seeing him cut up about this, so I do the only thing I think of. Detaching from him, I wince when he pulls out of me, and I spin around reaching into my pants for my cell and dial the number I need.
“What are you doing?”
I wave him off, placing the cell on speaker while it rings, then Cherry answers. “Billie? I… ahh… didn’t think I would ever hear from you again.”
Phantom glowers at me like he thinks I have lost my damn mind, but I ignore him and carry on with my plan. “I know, and I’m sorry I haven’t reached out before now. I wasn’t sure if the whole no-coming-to-the-club thing also meant no contact with the people there other than Phantom.”
Cherry is quiet, but there is movement. It’s like she’s trying to find somewhere private to talk. “Is everything okay? Is Phantom all right?”
“That’s actually what I wanted to talk to you about. I’m here with Phantom now, and we’ve just had an interesting discussion.”
&nb
sp; Phantom throws his hands in the air in frustration, and I ignore him again and continue, “Phantom is saying he’s doubting his place at the club. I don’t want that. If he does anything stupid like this because of me, please make sure he doesn’t leave the club. I don’t want to cause any more trouble. You people are his family, his only family, and he can’t leave the club!”
Phantom groans, scrubbing at his face like he’s irritated with me.
Cherry exhales. “I’ve seen how miserable Phantom is over this when he’s at the club without you. I also know how you’re trying to make this right, Billie. I was the first to leap to your condemnation when all this shit went down, but I understand how fear can be a motivator. How if Zero was the one being held hostage that I might have done the same thing. So, I tell you what… I will talk to Zero, see if I can get him ease up on his stance toward you, Billie. See if he will let you back in the club.”
Phantom’s eyes widen like he’s in some sort of shock as excitement rolls through me. “Thank you, Cherry. You don’t know what that would mean to us. I also understand if it doesn’t work, but your help is more than what we could ask for.”
“I want you both to be happy, and right now, the club is stopping that. Yes, there is a reason for the trust issues, and it won’t be an overnight fix, but the only way we’re going to work on that is by seeing you, Billie.”
“Couldn’t agree more,” Phantom states.
“Did Billie make this phone call without you knowing?”
Phantom groans. “Yeah. She dialed, and before I knew it, you were on the phone. Sorry, Cherry.”
“I’m glad you called, Billie. And Phantom… if you’re ever doubting your place here at the club again, I need you to step up and tell us. Zero will be disappointed to know that his actions have caused a brother to feel like he doesn’t belong.”
Phantom grimaces. “I don’t think we should tell Zero.”
Cherry exhales. “On the contrary, Phantom, if you want Billie to get her place back in the clubhouse, I think this is exactly what Zero needs to hear.”
I turn to Phantom, and he nods. “I’ll be home later. I will talk to him then.”
