  Jesus! That woman! He thought.

Her grandmother hadn’t taken the news of Kat not only meeting her father regularly but also having a relationship with one of the bad guys well. Although he could understand where the older woman was coming from, he did not like seeing Kat’s grief. If her grandmother really loved her, she would find a way to see her without always fighting her own demons, just as the calm grandfather had done.

“Gabriel?” Kat tentatively asked as she watched him from across the doorway. Apparently, she had woken up because he hadn’t been in bed.

That sometimes happened, just like he couldn’t sleep without her by his side anymore. They were that attuned to each other.

He watched her lazily, his eyes drinking in her naked body. She lifted an arm and beckoned him to her, and without hesitation, he started moving in her direction.

Tomorrow would come soon enough. Today he wanted to enjoy her free of guilt… and with all his teeth still intact.

hen I started writing this book with the intention of publishing it, I thought it would be as easy as pie. But on my three-year long (!) journey I realized that I had so much to learn. A book is so much more than just putting words on paper – they have to make sense, too!

After I finished the first draft, I felt like I had run a marathon. But soon I realized it was just the beginning, I was barely past the starting line. On some days I thought I’d never finish. But then I was always reminded by my family and friends that I’m not a quitter. So, thank you all! Especially you, dear husband, without your support I would have never made it this far.

And back to the making sense thing – without my editors, I would have never been able to publish something worth reading.

First, I want to thank all my beta-readers willing to put through my un-edited pages.

I want to thank Cate Hogan for giving me the right ideas and helping me create an engaging plot.

Last but not least, I want to thank Leoneh Charmell for… everything! She isn’t just an amazing editor, she is also a great friend and an incredible human being. She turned this work of fiction from a little brown stone into a shining diamond and she has been a constant source of advice and support.

  Thank you!
