Nick took the ring out of the box and slipped it on Dani’s finger, before standing and hauling her up against him.
He kissed the top of her head and glanced up to see Ray standing in the doorway, bar rag in hand. The old man nodded and smiled before disappearing back inside the bar.
At the table, Michael gave him a thumbs up. Meanwhile, Jess was taking a tissue out of her purse to wipe the tears cascading down her cheeks.
On second thought, this was probably the perfect place to do this. With friends and family—and the damn reality show that had brought them together playing in the background.
Funny how things worked out sometimes.
