  Acknowledgments

First, you are still reading at this point, so first I will beg you to leave a review. Amazon or Goodreads would be awesome. At the very least, you could force me to contemplate my existence by criticizing every one of the above words. Or, you could motivate other folks to read my writing, and therefore encourage me to further neglect my family and continue to write!

Speaking of, I certainly must thank my incredibly supportive wife Katie for continuing to accept me despite my penchant for spending the evenings in writing. She is an awesome sounding board, great editor, and a generally swell person. My beta readers, friends all, also deserve a great, heartfelt thanks. Bill, Adam, Rita, Anthony, Dominque, Kristina, and Morgan, I managed to survive all of your concentrated criticism. Please stop nagging me to write the third book. I’ll get there…

I am uber thankful for my editor, Jennifer Collins, for two reasons. First, she does a kickass job editing. Second, she is incredibly supportive and makes me feel like a decent writer. My art team can turn my terrible scribblings into beautifully-realized painting. Rene Aigner, the cover artist, and Dave O’Meara, the map man and designer, I’m lucky to have the two of you.

When I started this journey, I was largely on my own. There was a lot of guesswork and a lot of idiocy. Thankfully, I stumbled into a great community of supportive authors and readers. I have to start by thanking Mark Lawrence and all of the fantastic bloggers from the Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off. If it weren’t for all of you, I never would have felt comfortable actually talking about writing, nor connecting with all of the great people in the community.

Speaking of bloggers (yes, I was), I’ve stumbled across a horde of online influencers who were kind enough to take interest in my writing. First, Petrik from Novel Notions is probably the nicest guy in the world, but also a fantastic, skilled, and honest reviewer. Thanks for the review, interview, and cover reveal for Wisdom Lost! Nikki from TheBookDragon is a killer and dedicated reviewer who also helped repair my bruised and broken ego by comparing me to the gods among fantasy authors. Matt from Darkside Reads is probably my first real fan, and he actually pays attention to me on Twitter! And Alexia from Bookworm Daydreamer was amazing, and was my first blog reviewer. Certainly, there are more, but I’d rather forgot people and get some angry emails.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the Grimdark Readers and Authors Facebook group for being so awesome, as well as a great place full of dark, twisted people who like reading this stuff.
