“When I became your benefactor, I became theirs, too. I have a good teacher in you,” he said.

“We will achieve so much together.” She smiled, kissed him on the lips, and went to greet the young girls.

Aaron’s father came and slapped him on the back in congratulations. “I never thought I’d see you married, son.”

“It’s important to have an heir. You were married by my age and already had two,” he said teasingly, repeating his father’s words back to him.

“I told you to let the boy find his own wife,” the dowager duchess said to the duke. “Just look how well he’s done.”

His father looked at Crystal, who was chatting with her students. “You found a fine one indeed. She’s strong and knows her own mind.”

“Aye, marriage suits me just fine now.” Aaron knew it was a turnaround in his beliefs, but he’d never realized how important the commitment of marriage was until he’d fallen in love.

“You make a verra good pair. One is full of ideas, the other finds a practical answer, and both of you are good and kind,” his stepmother said. “You are innovators, and I know you will do great things together.”

Aaron gazed at Crystal, delight filling his whole body. “Aye, I believe we will.”

  Chapter Twenty-Eight

Crystal held out her arms as her new husband came toward her, divesting himself of his banyan as he approached the bed. She sat there in her beautiful silk wedding shift and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him in close. “I never thought that marriage would make me so happy,” she murmured.

She rested her head on his chest for a moment, running her fingers down over his abdomen, which rippled with muscles. It was so true. She’d had no idea a person could be this content in life.

Aaron gave her a smug smile. “My lady, you have married me, the catch of Scotland. How can you be anything but ecstatic?”

“Do you plan to be this conceited the whole of our marriage?” she asked wryly.

He began to fiddle with the buttons of her chemise, gave up after the first few, and pulled it up over her head. “You have brought me to my knees once, and I’m sure you’ll do it again if I prove unbearable. However, I’m not of a nature to be cruel.”

“Unless pushed to the limit by your father,” she said.

“I had to live my own life, find my own bride. I plan to love you my whole life.”

She looked at him, from his handsome, strong face down his athletic frame to his impressive cockstand, and lust took over. She took it in her hands and put her mouth over the head, licking and savoring the taste of him.

“Don’t you want to kiss me first?” he wheezed out, surprise on his face as she stroked and sucked him with awe.

She pulled off him. “No, I’ve kissed you before, and I’ve longed to touch your cock. It’s so impressive.”

“I knew I married the right woman. The moment you spoke of desire, I imagined moments like this.” His eyes closed as he rocked his hips to the motion of her lips.

She cupped his balls, glad she no longer had to worry about pregnancy. What a joy now that she was free to love Aaron the way she wanted, without being troubled by what people thought.

God, she loved his scent, the way his body undulated as she took him. He moaned with a soft hiss of breath as she moved down his cock, treating it like a prized possession. Her whole body craved to have him inside her, thrusting in deep, to have the weight of him move over her, sliding in and out.

“Enough,” he panted, “or I shall come.” He pulled away from her.

She lay back and beckoned him to her. “I want you inside me.”

He frowned at this. “But you won’t be ready.”

“Ready? I’ve wanted you from the moment I saw you and thought I could never have you, not without shame and worry.”

He knelt between her legs and lay atop her, supporting his weight on one elbow. “What very shameful thoughts you have, wife. May they continue our whole marriage. I shall never grow tired of hearing about your desire.” He kissed her throat and cupped her breast, his mouth moving down to her nipple.

“You were right about me when you said I spoke about desire from the heart.”

“It was as if you spoke directly to me and there was no one else in the room.” His tongue feathered over one nipple and then the other.

She groaned as a deep pulling sensation made her grind up into him. She could imagine him parting her and filling her, his cock hard and sure.

He reached down, took it in his hand, and rubbed it along her slit.

When it touched the top of her seam, she bucked and groaned out loud.

  “You like that, don’t you?”

She could only nod as he did it again and again until an intensity built in the base of her spine and raced upward, exploding in her head so that she cried out in pleasure.

He smiled, then slid his cock inside her in one even motion, leaving her gasping. The weight of him pressed her into the mattress. She looked up at him, blinking. “There’s no sharp pain this time.”

“It will get easier as your body learns to welcome me.”

“I— I—” She didn’t know what to say as he began to move slowly inside her. At first it was uncomfortable, but when he brought his mouth down on hers and kissed her, the discomfort subsided.

She rolled her hips, cautiously at first, testing to see if the discomfort would return, but she was so slippery he moved inside her with ease.

She clenched her muscles, and he moaned against her mouth. “Does it feel better now, my love?”

“Yes. It’s wonderful. Better than I could ever have imagined.”

When he started to move with a faster rhythm, she wanted to match him and found herself meeting each thrust with one of her own. He made her feel loved and cherished, yet free to seek her own way, too.

This was what it was to be a wife. How naive she’d been not to know such wonder existed inside marriage. She trusted Aaron to let her live her life and continue with the work she wanted to do. This was perfection.

And how clever she was not to cave in to her father’s demands but to wait and find this exciting man instead.

He glided in and out of her, faster and faster. She clutched his shoulders, her fingernails digging into his skin as the pressure inside her started to build again.

He broke for a moment and swept a pillow to tuck under her hips so that she was wide open and raised to meet his thrusts.

She felt her orgasm come with such a rush, it consumed her whole being, leaving her shuddering and gasping.

He followed close behind, plunging himself in deep before his whole body stiffened and his seed spilled into her.

He collapsed on top of her, panting.

She patted his shoulder. “Move aside, Aaron. I cannae breathe.”

“Sorry.” He slid out of her, rolling onto his back and breathing deeply. After a moment, he moved onto his side and placed his arm around her. “Are you all right?” he asked, his face a picture of concern.

She turned on her side, too, and looked into his eyes. “I am the happiest I’ve ever been in my life because I am with you. Nothing will ever be better than this.”

He smiled into her eyes. “I promise you, this day is the start of many others that will be filled with love and joy because I have you, my lady of desire.”
