  “And you?” Maddox asked Diesel.

“I’ve got a few replies,” Diesel smirked.

Diesel had gone through the process that made his discharge official, and had shortly afterwards sent out feelers to become a consultant for a tactical unit in the private sector or a bodyguard in a security firm. He’d heard back from both, so he was taking his time to make the decision.

Linking his fingers with Diesel’s, Triton leaned back against his lover’s chest. Fraser and Rachael were presenting the food, and people crowded around the table.

Diesel’s arm slipped around his waist and drew him close but farther away from the crowd of people.

Triton found himself tucked against the wall of the hallway. Large fingers combed through his hair and stroked along his scalp before cupping the back of his head. With a tug, his head was raised and Diesel’s lips brushed over his mouth. Triton wrapped his arms tightly around Diesel’s neck.

“I love you,” Diesel growled against his lips.

“I love you,” he breathed, feeling happier than he could ever remember being.

  “Ready for the opening?”

Triton darted a smile upward. “Yes!” Excitement raced through his stomach.

He was opening his own salon. Diesel had helped him apply for the loan and they, along with Fraser, were going into business together. Fraser had permanently moved to Fern, Oregon, a month ago and was currently renting a little apartment near the center of town.

With Doc Vince’s help, Triton continued to deal with his past. With the encouragement of his family back at the Triple R and Diesel’s support, Triton began to believe in himself. He now knew he was a man worthy of good things and love.

“Where’d you go?” Diesel rasped against his temple.

“Daydreaming of how happy I am.” Triton smiled, lifting his face.

Diesel’s answering smile lit up his heart.

  The End.
