Twelve Lords Page 62

  "Your trainer?"

Moving as she nodded, Yokiyo leaned against him, that instant safe feeling coming over her. "It is just that since I got pregnant and I stopped training, it is like he is always there. He always had an odd look in his eyes but it always seemed harmless. But the look in his eyes when he looks at me now is different. It is almost like he is a wild animal looking at me like I am nothing more than a piece of meat he wants to devour."

Growling, Kiyoshi glared out the window. "For how long?"

"Well he insisted that he keep near constant contact the last time I trained with him before I got pregnant. Umarus and Yoite put a quick stop to that. But since then I see him in the shadows watching. When he realizes that Yoite or Umarus see him as well he slinks off." Taking a shaky breath she closed her eyes. "He actually scares me. Right now."

"Then he is gone. Umarus will do it today." Rubbing her back he growled as he narrowed out the window. "I will not have someone here that causes this fear in you."

"Thank you." Then just as suddenly as her bad mood changed, it was back to her chipper self as she kissed his cheek then leaned away from him before she threw her legs over his head and off the side of the bed with a smile. "Oh by the way, when you went to go and get Takahashi your father and I had a little talk about what it will take for him to fully accept me."

"What?" Blinking at her, Kiyoshi was just a little in shock at the moment. First that his father actually spoke to her, but this roller coaster of emotions that she was on daily was about to drive him insane. It had to be because she was pregnant.

Laughing as she moved to her mirror to braid her hair, Yokiyo winked at him as he came up behind her. "He came in just a few minutes after you left and said that he didn't like seeing how upset he being a jerk was making Imae and your mother. So we made the same sort of deal that you and I did at first. That we will play nice when Imae and your mother are around."

A glare in his eyes, Kiyoshi sighed. "How exactly is that accepting you?"

"I asked him that after we made the deal. What it would take for him to do just that." She then looked down as she laid her hands on her stomach. "He told me the only way for that to happen is if our pup is a full blooded demon. Then he would accept me fully."

Growling as he wrapped his arms around her as she turned to him, Kiyoshi turned to the side toward where his parents would still be right now. "The fool. He knows that can't happen. There was no point in saying it."

Another giggle as she tiptoed and kissed his cheek, Yokiyo stepped from his arms and went to her closet to get dressed. "You never know. After all I am a miko and pure if in everything I do. You a demon and demonic in everything you do, even if you don't act like it all the time."

Crossing his arms, Kiyoshi growled. "Where is the point to this conversation?"

Turning as she slipped into her hakama and then her haori, Yokiyo winked at him again. "Because by all rights we have already defied the odds with me getting pregnant with your child. Especially after only two weeks since our first time together. I know that it won't happen, but it would be hilarious if we did defy the odds again and our pup was born full demon. Wouldn't it?"

  "It would but…"

Moving to him, Yokiyo touched his mouth with her finger as she laughed again with a sigh. "I know that. Our child, son or daughter will be a half demon. And if we have a boy, he will be the heir to the South. I know but it would be awesome if it did." She then leaned up kissed him. "But I am going to go and meet your mother and Takara in the dining hall. We have just a few last minute things that need to be done and then my clothes."

"Alright." But then he growled as he gripped her waist and dipped his head searing her mouth. Pulling her flush against him as she melted in his arms, her hands gripping his clothes over his chest. "Not yet." Then let out another growl as he used his speed and had her beneath him as he bore down on her mouth in the middle of their bed.

Running his tongue across her lips, they both moaned as he plunged his tongue in her mouth to mingle with each other. His hand sliding up her side to mold a breast under his hand as he pushed her legs apart with one of his.

While she knew that Sorae and Takara were waiting on her, Yokiyo just couldn't tell him no when he kissed her like that. With a small moan she slid her hands up and twined them around his neck as she urgently kissed him back.

However the moment was broken when there was a small, quiet little knock on the door. Growling as he refused to budge, Yokiyo dipped his head and nipped at his mate's neck. Only to growl again when she giggled then stopped him as she pointed toward the door. Looking at the door he blinked as he tensed. "Imae?"

"Mama. Father. Can I come in?"

The nervousness in her voice, and how quiet and low it was, both Yokiyo and Kiyoshi instantly forgot what they were getting ready to do. Rushing to the door they found Imae standing there nearly in tears as Yoite stood just behind her growling as he glared down the hall way. "What happened?"

With tears now spilling from her eyes, Imae lunged forward and latched onto his legs as she cried. "You won't let it happen will you? Father it won't happen right?" Then she buried her face in his leg as she sobbed.

Watching as Yokiyo pulled her into her arms to settle her down, Kiyoshi growled as he turned to Yoite. "What the hell happened?"

"Motoichi My Lord. He sent dog demons that are loyal to him. They showed up just before dawn and are under guard. Though when you see them one will be limping. In ear shot of My Lady, they openly said what they were not only going to do to Lady Yokiyo but her as well."

Tightening her hold on her daughter Yokiyo saw red as she felt the rage rolling off of her mate. They were early! They shouldn't have been there for another couple of days! But that didn't mean they were going to change what they were doing with it. Looking into Imae's innocent eyes she sighed as she smiled at her. "Yoite come with me. I need to go and meet Sorae and Takara anyway." Stopping just in the hall, Yokiyo turned and gave Kiyoshi a glare with Imae in hand. "You can deal with them. Just don't kill them yet. I will make an example of them at the presentation."

"Example?" But both Kiyoshi and Yoite flinched when she snapped her aura to life and flicked blue a few seconds das she walk down the hall. Yoite just looked at his Lord then followed after them. In total awe of his new Lady. And he had never seen her this angry, though rightfully so. With a smile as they approached the dining hall, Yoite couldn't help but shake his head. 'I can't help but have a feeling that in a few days time, the world is going see exactly what a pissed off miko can do.'

The smell of purification caused Sorae, Yukani, and Takara to flinch as a very angry Yokiyo stormed into the room with Imae trotting along right next to her. Jumping to her feet as she got closer, Takara bowed as she shook. "My Lady…"

Gasping as she dropped her aura all together, Yokiyo sighed as she sat down in her chair, Imae climbing on her lap. "Sorry Takara. But those dogs that Motoichi sent…."

  "Dogs?"

Looking up at the three sets of shocked eyes Yokiyo nodded. "That's right. He sent two dog demons that are loyal to him. And one of them decided to say what they were here for, and included Imae where she could hear him. Yoite hurt him and Kiyoshi is no doubt hurting him a little more. But hopefully not too much."

Dropping her head as she sighed Sorae shook her head. "I hope he doesn't do anything. Merely stating something even where Imae can here isn't enough to warrant death. And if he kills him unprovoked, it completely shatters the blood act that Motoichi's father, Kurosai, Koraen and Torakus all put into play nearly a thousand years ago."

  "Blood act?"

With a half glare for the miko, Yukani sighed. "When I was just an infant Chirio, Motoichi's father, feared what Motoichi and hismother Yori would do to the North. He banished them and named the son of a member of his army his heir. But not trusting them at all, he also had father and the other Lords at the time….."

"Sign a peace act in blood with each other." Walking
in the room Umarus had a sly smile as he moved to stand next to Yoite. "The one stipulation in it was that if we reacted to one of Motoichi's men without just cause or reason it renders it null and void. But also states that if Motoichi moved to do anything to the East, West, or South, the three of us would join forces and not stop until he was dead." Then he winked at Yokiyo as he smiled. "And those dogs won't be a problem until the presentation."

Looking at him with a glare, Yokiyo growled. "What happened?"

"Let's just say they learned the final half of the lesson Yoite started."

  "Good."

To change the subject, Sorae turned to Yokiyo with a soft smile. "While we were waiting on you, Takara filled me in on everything that you have done for the presentation. I am impressed with what you have done. All you have left to do is get your clothes ready."

Hugging the still upset little girl on her lap, Yokiyo laughed as she winked at Sorae. "We covered that yesterday when Sanzo got here. My first meeting with him was when I was with the seamstress, and she was telling me I couldn't have what I wanted."

  "Really?"

Nodding Yokiyo smiled down at Imae as she stood her up on the floor next to her. "That's right. In fact, she should be done by now what I wanted was very simple to make. She better be done by now at any rate." Standing up she took Imae's hand and then looked up at everyone. "You three are welcome to come with us. I need to go make sure it is right anyway."

Sorae nodded as everyone stood and left the room, she was next to Yokiyo with Imae between them, Yukani behind them and Takara next to Yoite who took up the rear. As they walked through the halls, she looked at Yokiyo with a curious look. "What sort of an outfit are you going to wear? I do hope it is not your miko outfit. Nothing against it, but at the presentation you must look the part of your title, a Lady."

Laughing as she looked over at her, Yokiyo smiled. "Well it is a cross between a formal kimono and a miko outfit."

  "Cross?"

With a sharp nod, Yokiyo looked straight again. "That's right. I know that not only the dogs from the North but others are going to try and come at me during the presentation. I don't want to be bogged down with a thick heavy formal or seven layer kimono. I want to be able to move so I had my own design."

  "But it has….."

Laughing as they turned down the hall toward where the seamstress was, Yokiyo winked at her. "Don't worry. I will look the part of a Lady, but it will also fit my personality and what I am. Imae and I are both wearing the same thing, but in different colors. Wait till you see it."

Her eyebrow twitching, Yokiyo looked at the outfits laid out on the bed as she raged inside. They were all wrong! "This is so not what you were told to make! Nothing near it!"

Her nose on the floor, the seamstress forced herself not to growl at this human before her. With as close as the presentation was, she couldn't just make it herself, and she would mess it up until she had to wear the kimono. "What was it that I did wrong My Lady?"

Looking back and forth from her outfit to Imae's then back to the seamstress, Yokiyo stomped up to where they were laid out on the bed and started to pick up layers down to a kimono base. "This for one thing. I told you to take the hakamas that I wear a miko and make them the base. Take the outer layer of a kimono and layer it different lengths and sections on it. Slim in the sleeves and make the obi smaller than normal. And it is about two sizes too small for me."

Moving to the side where Imae's outfit was, she just shook her head. "And this is a full on seven layer kimono. Nothing at all like what not only myself but Kiyoshi told you to make."

"Forgive me My Lady. I did not understand what it was that you wanted exactly."

"Liar. I made it very clear and showed you exactly what I wanted before I left out of here that day. The colors, where I wanted everything. You chose not to do it because of who knows why. It is almost like you were trying to restrict us in movements." She then turned and stormed to the other side of the room where all the colors were still where she put them and didn't looked like they were touched at all! "You can do whatever you want. I have made my own clothes as long as I can remember. I will do it again. What I want is very simple."

Sorae could only blink as she watched the angry miko storm out with Imae at her side. She didn't know what to think about what happened. But the growl bellow her caused her to turn her attention to the seamstress with a slight glare. "What was that?"

Gasping, the seamstress started to shake slightly as she let out a long sigh. "I am sorry Lady Sorae. I truly did try to make it the way that she wanted it to be made."

"Clearly you did not. And I know for a fact that my son would never put Imae in a seven layer kimono like that. I can also assume that his mate will tell him what happened here." She then turned and walked out of the room with Yukani following close behind.

"Mama do you really think she is going to tell Kiyoshi about it do you?"

Stopping and looking back at her daughter, Sorae had an odd look. "Do you have something to do with this Yukani? Something you need to say?"

Nodding as she dropped her head, Yukani sighed. "I heard her talking about how Yokiyo was ordering her to make something that wasn't anywhere near traditional. I just thought that the human didn't want to wear something and told her that she didn't have to do what she told her and make her something traditional. I didn't realize that she would do the same thing for Imae too."

Shaking her head at her daughter as she took a deep breath, Sorae turned her back to her. "You know as well as everyone else does Yukani with her being pregnant that the bond is set. It wouldn't matter if we did kill her Yukani it wouldn't do anything for your brother. I am sure that she is going to tell Kiyoshi exactly what happened. You might want to find him and tell him yourself before that."

Turning her head away from her mother, Yukani growled. "I have nothing to say to him."

"Then you deal with him when he is told about this. Do you really think that old woman won't sing like a bird if it comes down to her life or telling who told her that she didn't have to do what Yokiyo told her to do?" Then she walked on down the hall and toward where she could smell Yokiyo and Imae.

Rolling out all the fabrics on the bed, Yokiyo let out a sigh as she looked over at Imae who drug a chair over to sit next to her. Turning back to the fabrics she crossed her arms. "I can't believe she didn't do what I told her. I think she wanted to make it so we couldn't move."

"But father told her to make what you said." Blinking Imae looked down at the fabric then to her body and finally back to her mother. "Can you really make them for both of us? It is only a few days away?"

Winking at her daughter, Yokiyo laughed as she smiled. "Yes I can make them just fine. We will look the part of a Lady and a Princess but be able to fight too. I will need to measure you a lot, but I know my body so I can do this."

"So what is it going to look like?"

Looking over her shoulder with a smile to Sorae, Yokiyo laughed. "Well it is the same outfit for both of us. Mine is going to reflect me as a miko and be white and light blue."

Stopping next to her as she looked down at the fabric Sorae was a bit confused. "I always heard that mikos wear red?"

Nodding as she laughed as she moved to the closet, Yokiyo took out her light blue miko outfit. "Typically they do. But I am different just like my Mama. Her mother wore red, and it was like she was advertising what she was and she and my grandfather were shipped off to war for the Lord and died. Mama said she would do what she had to for her village, but no one else so she wore light blue. I did the same to be just like her."

AS she moved back toward the bed she smiled down at Imae as she was at her side again with her usual smile in place. "Imae is our daughter, so she is going to be a mix of the both of us. Some white and light blue from me, black and dark blue from her father.

  "I see."

Laughing as she turned back to getting the m
aterial right, Yokiyo never lost her smile. "Would you like to help me make them?"

Nodding with a bright smile, Sorae laughed. "I would love too."

Laying out her miko outfit, Yokiyo nodded as she stood up. "This is what I am going to use for a base of it."

Blinking Sorae gave her another odd look. She knew that the way the humans did things and the way the demons did things were different, and now she was getting a crash course in exactly how different they really are. "Base?"

Nodding as she winked at her, Yokiyo crossed her arms. "That's right. I am going to take this and build off of it." She then turned to Takara and smiled at her. "Takara could you please go to Imae's room and get me one of her training outfits?"

  "Of course My Lady."

Yokiyo then turned to Sorae and explained how she wanted just a small section of each layered over the pants, but also lose and flowing. It would give the effect of a formal kimono that was prim and proper. But they would be able to move, and fast if need be. Giving the full illusion of the seven layer traditional kimono for things like this, but reflecting who they were under it.
