As usual, I’ve taken a few liberties while writing this story. But then, it wouldn’t be fiction otherwise. There is a president of Colombia, but I used a made-up name and in no way does my character represent the true Colombian president. The characters in this story are completely made up and are not based off real-life people.
I tried to make it clear there would be triggers for those who have suffered abuse. I would never want to cause pain to anyone in any way, so I hope you didn’t find the story to be too dark for your reading pleasure. For those who believe that Luciana would have never accepted Spider so easily due to her past, or truly wanted him, you’d be surprised how different people cope with the things they’ve suffered. While one rape survivor may never want human touch again, another will own their sexuality and need the feeling of being in charge of who touches them. There’s no right or wrong way for a person to heal from a traumatic experience, and no two people are ever alike.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. It’s hard to believe the first Harley Wylde book released in the fall of 2016, and now Spider makes #24. Starting the Dixie Reapers series in late 2017 (first published in early 2018), was probably the best thing I’ve ever done. I really love that world and the characters, and that series has inspired the Devil’s Boneyard and now the Hades Abyss series.
As much as I love to write, I would likely continue to write even if I never sold a book, but it’s you who makes writing worthwhile. Knowing that my books have a home, and might give someone a few hours of enjoyment, is reason enough to keep going.
