The thing Cutter had spat out was his own tongue. Or what was left of it. And Razz could tell his own tongue wasn’t going to last much longer, either. The ultimate mockery: having cursed them with this living death, the Collector had now taken away their ability to curse him back.
Turning away from the sliver of rapidly decaying flesh, Razz hurried to catch up with his partner. All the time in the world, Cutter had said.
Only that wasn’t exactly what the Collector had promised. What he’d actually said was all the time in eternity.
They could only hope that it wouldn’t come to that.
