“Nah.” Tallius put the truck in gear and headed slowly for the gate.

Outside the walls of the Fortress, they watched a massive black wolf chasing a tiny gray wolf across the skyline.

With a chuckle, Tallius reached over and squeezed Mira’s thigh. “She’s gonna have her hands full with that one. But she’s got him hooked already, I can tell.”

“Really?” Mira scrunched up her nose in disbelief. “How can you tell? He looks like he wants to kill her.”

Turning to grin at her, he said, “Believe me, I know. She’s gonna be good. Don’t worry about her. Matese couldn’t hurt her if his fucking life depended on it.” Bending, he dropped a kiss on her nose. “But enough with them. Tonight’s about you.”

  “Yeah?”

“Yeah. Tonight, I’m gonna make you fall so fucking hard.”

Wrapping her arms around his thick bicep, Mira rested her chin on his shoulder and beamed up at him. “So fucking hard.”

Staring at her, Tallius’s eyes flashed a near white before his pupils exploded and his eyes blacked out with his wolf. Having that effect on him and his animal had her head dizzy with power, but it was nothing compared to the love that swelled her heart so fully she swore there wasn’t even any room inside her for air. He was going to try to make her fall in love tonight, but silly wolf, she was already there.
