Daddy Ever After Page 6

by Measha Stone

Meeting Hunter had been the only solid event in the last three months that she could have held onto as real. Except, she’d seen the loyalty in his expression when he talked to his uncle.

And of course, he’d be loyal to him. He was family. He was Hunter’s boss. Who was she? A good little girl who played nice for him? A solid fuck?

Ugh, she’d been so fucking stupid.

She needed to get out of town. Scraping up what money Peter had given her from her last pay, she’d bought a ticket. She had no friends or family to help her, she was on her own. And she would do fine. She’d find a new job, one that didn’t require her lifting her skirt up and taking a spanking. And she’d find a new home.

And maybe she’d find a new man.

One who could possess her as easily as Hunter had in such a short time?

She shook her head. She was still a fucking fool.

“I’m pretty sure little girls aren’t allowed to run away from their daddies.” A deep voice settled over her. Her spine stiffened.

“Hunter.” She bowed her head, not from submission, but from shame. How could she look him in the eye after what an idiot she’d been?

“Turn around, Jaelynn.” His command seeped into her.

She expected to see a firm jaw, angry dark eyes, similar to when she’d first met him.

“You’re leaving?” He looked down at her bags. “It was so pointless? Our weekend together?” She detected hurt in his tone, saw it cross his features.

“I was so stupid. Your uncle, the Annex, all of it was wrong.” She took a steady breath. Crying wouldn’t help her now.

  “And me?”

“You?” She raised her chin. At the very least, he deserved the truth, even if it meant embarrassing herself. “You showed me what I really want. How much I could really submit to a man—to you.”

“And now you’ll just find someone else?” His voice hardened.

  “No. I mean, I—”

“I meant it when I said I’d never let you go. It wasn’t just words mumbled during a quick fuck. I meant it. It’s true you’ll never get to avenge your parents, it’s true my uncle will go on without having to pay for what he did to you. And if looking at me every day makes that truth too painful to bear, then I’ll let you get on that bus.” He looked away. “But you won’t be alone. I won’t just let you ride off. I’ll know where you are. I’ll be watching. I’ll be taking care of you.”

She sucked in a breath. “You can’t—”

“I can and I will. Because I fucking meant what I said, Jaelynn. Did you?” he demanded, closing the space between them, his insecurity rolling off of him. He opened himself to her; she could reject him, cut him down, and walk away. He might watch from a distance, but he’d never get to have her.

  “My parents—”

  “Nothing will bring them back.”

“You work for him. You work for the man responsible.”

“Yes, I do. For now. When he retires, it all goes to me. But if throwing all that away keeps you here, then that’s what I’ll do.”

A tear slipped from her eye. He’d give up everything for her?

“You’d do that? You’d choose me? That’s crazy,” she said in a whisper.

“Well, that’s what you do to me. You make me crazy.” He grabbed her hands. “Now, you can either come home with me and accept your punishment for being such a naughty girl, or you can get on the bus and always wonder what it would have been like. Being my little girl, my wife, my life.”

  She swallowed hard.

“You really are a crazy bastard.” She laughed.

“Your fault entirely.” He didn’t smile, he didn’t blink.

  She hadn’t answered him yet.

“I don’t want to see him. I never want to talk to him or see him,” she said firmly.

“You won’t have to. I’ll deal with it.” He nodded.

“And you can’t give it all up. Well, maybe the bad stuff?”

  He quirked an eyebrow.

“How much of a punishment are we talking?” She tilted her head.

“Oh, one hell of a spanking, several long corner time sessions, and a fucking you’ll never forget.” His hands gripped her harder, a smile teased at the corners of his mouth.

“A nice spanking, one corner time, and a fucking I’ll never forget,” she countered.

He growled. “You don’t negotiate your punishment.” He let her go and grabbed her bags.

“Okay, two corner time sessions,” she added when he gave her a nudge to get going toward his car that was idling a few spots away from the station.

“Keep it up and you’ll be sporting a bare red ass around the house for a week,” he promised and handed the bags to Damien waiting at the car. She noticed the soft look of relief on his expression. Maybe he wasn’t so pissed that she’d out-maneuvered him again.

“I think that should happen regardless,” Damien grumbled while tossing her bags in the car.

Hunter pinched her ass and opened her door. “He has a point. Red bare ass for a week. Anything else you’d like to negotiate?” He leaned down, completely invading her space.

“You really want me forever?” she asked, not blinking.

He kissed her. Not just a welcome home kiss. But a kiss that stopped her heart, made her toes curl, and sucked the air from her chest. She didn’t exist without him.

  He owned her.

“And ever,” he muttered against her lips.

“My daddy ever after?” She smiled.

“Yes, baby girl. Now get in the car before I start your spanking right here in the street.”

“Yes, Daddy.” She climbed into the car.

He really was her daddy ever after.

  Epilogue

“You have to stop pissing off Damien just for the sake of pissing him off.” Hunter leaned back in his chair, glaring at her from behind his desk.

Jae stood, hands folded primly in front of her, trying her best to look repentant. She wasn’t of course, but her husband didn’t need to know that.

He’d made good on his promise to keep her forever and ever. After leaving the bus terminal, he’d driven her home. His home, and now hers, where he cleaned her up and loved her until she promised to go down to city hall with him. After a month of being his wife, she was finally settling in to living beneath his authority and wrapped up in his love.

But Damien took more getting used to. The man insisted on telling on her for every little infraction. If she skipped a nap, which she still thought to be silly, he told on her. If she forgot her cell phone when she went out for a while, he snitched. It was only natural that she’d try to get him back for his disloyalty at some point.

“I already said I was sorry,” she pointed out, feeling Damien’s presence just outside the office door. He probably hung around to hear her squeals when Hunter dragged her over her his knee.

“Why can’t you cut him some slack?” Hunter asked, amusement dancing on the edge of his words.

“Cut him slack?” Jae asked with shock. “Are you serious? The man is constantly hovering over me, ready to tell on me for the slightest thing!”

Hunter nodded. “I know. That’s his job.”

“To babysit me?” Her eyes widened to a painful degree. “I’m not a child.”

“His job is to keep you safe when I’m not around. That means hovering a little. He has a thing for obedience, something he and I have in common, Jae.” He sent her a pointed look.

“He’s listening.” She jerked a thumb at the door.

“No, he’s not.” Hunter shook his head and sighed. “He left for the afternoon.”

“He just wanted you to spank me.” She puffed. All of Hunters caring and hard looks had worked to soften her into the little girl he loved her being.

Hunter laughed. “So, he told you to climb up into the attic and hide for an entire afternoon. Scaring both him and me into thinking you’d run off again, or worse?”

She hadn’t meant to hide for t
he whole afternoon, but she found boxes of old family photos. Hours had passed while she flipped through the photographs of Hunter as a child growing up before she heard his deep voice bellowing for her from beneath her.

“I just wanted to be alone for a little bit,” she explained honestly.

“I can understand that.” Hunter pushed up from his desk and walked around it, to where she stood. “But you were still a very naughty girl, weren’t you?” he asked, pushing her thick curls back over her shoulder and chucking her chin until she met his gaze.

“I promised I’d never run away again, and I won’t,” she said. Real guilt of having that worry still weigh on him seeped into her core.

“I know.” He nodded. “But you didn’t answer me.” He ran his fingertip along the shell of her ear.

She lowered her gaze. “Hiding in the attic isn’t against any rules that you’ve given me.” She pointed out.

“True.” He ran his hand down the length of her back to the hem of her dress. “But, I called you and called you and you didn’t come.” He pulled the back of her dress up, tucking it into the belt at her waist.

“I didn’t hear you.” She smiled up at him. The little sparkle in his eyes when he looked down at her, eased away her fear that he was actually upset with her. She enjoyed his touches, and his spankings, but she would never like his punishments.

“Hmmm.” He leaned down and took her earlobe between his teeth. “Maybe I should put in an intercom system, so you can always hear me call for you.”

“Mmmhhhmm, that might work.” She said then broke into a full moan when he bit down on her neck.

“For now, bend over my desk.” With a gentle shove between her shoulder blades, he pushed her into position.

She placed her forearms on the desk and rose up to her toes, looking over her shoulder to find his eyes. No matter what the situation was, if he was upset with her, or pleased with her, she needed the comfort of his eyes on her.

“That’s it, good girl.” He said, pealing her white cotton panties down her thighs and leaving them at her knees.

His hands cupped her ass cheeks, kneading them and pulling them apart until she shifted her position. He released her to unbuckle his belt, making her ass clench in anticipation.

She didn’t hear the familiar zip of leather running along fabric as he pulled off the belt, so she looked once more over her shoulder. His grin told her everything.

“I think we should just forget panties all together from now on.” He said, shoving hers down to her ankles. “Step out and spread your legs wider.”

She moved her feet out of the panties and repositioned herself for him. He wasn’t asking her, he wasn’t going to take his time warming her up for him, he was going to take what was his. There would be no apology for his aggression. No regret for manhandling her. And she wouldn’t want it any other way.

He poised behind her, the tip of his cock pressed to her entrance.

“Tell me again, Jaelynn.” He said, pushing the very tip of his dick past her opening.

  “I’ll never leave you.”

He thrust hard until his balls smacked her pussy. She cried out at the fullness, the sudden intrusion, but she didn’t try to wiggle away. This is who they were.

“And why is that?” he asked, his voice raw from holding his control.

“Because I belong here. To you.” She said, throwing her head back when he pulled away slightly, not wanting him to go too far.

“And?” He slid further inside her, the slow pace would drive her mad, and he knew it. It was his weapon, his way of making her obey him even if she didn’t want to.

“And you belong to me,” she sucked in a long breath when his hands gripped her hips and he drove into her harder and harder with each stroke.

There were no more words, no more innuendoes or feelings expressed. Just raw, animalistic actions that echoed throughout his office. He claimed her, the same way he did every day, with every look, every kiss, every touch. Completely, and without hesitation.

And they lived mostly happily ever after.

  “Not again.”

Ellie Stevens stepped off the bus and into the thick humid air of the city to find a group of people milling around the entrance to The Café, her father’s coffee shop. She pushed her sunglasses up the bridge of her nose and made her way through the crowd.

“It’s locked again, Ellie,” Jason, their full-time cashier, informed her as she reached for the handle of the door. The lights were still on, and the We’re Open sign hadn’t been turned off.

Which meant her father was inside.

And, if the door was locked, he wasn’t alone.

“It’ll be just a minute.” Ellie pulled her saddlebag forward, unzipped the leather pouch, and dug out her spare key.

“I’m not sure you should go in there. Those guys work for Ash Titon,” Jason said.

“Who?” Ellie asked, finding the key among the array of colored pencils littering her purse.

“Just—maybe wait is all I’m saying.”

“Jason, the customers aren’t going to wait around.” She slid her key into the lock and turned the bolt, feeling the door give way. “I’ll just go hurry them up. Dad probably just couldn’t fit everyone in his office.”

More than likely, he was begging for more time. A scene she’d been accustomed to growing up, but one that annoyed her as an adult.

“I’ll be out in a minute and let everyone in.” She opened the door enough to squeeze through and locked it behind her. If her father shooed the customers out, it meant he was either in dire negotiations for more time to repay a debt, or the goons cornering him wanted privacy.

She doubted either side would be happy with her presence.

“I swear, I’ll get the cash. I promise.” Her father’s broken plea tore at her.

Coffee cups and dessert plates littered the floor where tables had been knocked over. The pastry case was unharmed, but all the countertop displays lay scattered on the floor.

She heard a grunt and knew the sound for what it was. Her father taking a fist to his belly. No matter how many times she’d heard him being roughed up by his creditors, it still turned her stomach.

Ignoring the mess, she ran through the small café to the back room, where she found her father pinned against the wall by two overgrown goons. A third man stood before him, rubbing his knuckles. As though he hadn’t already grown callouses from the previous beatings he dished out.

“You’ve said that twice before, and yet, no money. Ash is tired of waiting. You’re months behind, and your interest has compiled to the point you won’t be able to repay in the timeline agreed.”

Her neck tingled, signaling her heart to beat faster. Months behind? How much interest? What the hell had her father gotten himself into this time? And who the hell was Ash?

Her father usually dealt with a man name Javier, not Ash. Had he started going to two different men to help cover his gambling debts? Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul?

“Wait. Stop.” Ellie stepped into the scene, grabbing hold of the arm ready to deliver another blow to her father.

“Ellie? No.” Her father groaned at seeing her, but she ignored him. He didn’t want her involved. She got that. He wouldn’t want her hurt. No matter how many times he’d put them at risk, the café at risk, their home at risk with his gambling, he never wanted her involved. But he also never saw how his actions dragged her into the fray every time.

Every time she had to sell another piece
of her mother’s jewelry to pay off a two-bit loan shark, or had to take a second job on the weekends in order to pay the rent on their apartment, she was involved. How could she not get involved? He was her father. It had been just the two of them for so long, she could hardly remember anyone else there to take care of her. And no matter his faults, his weaknesses, he loved her.

The goon shook her off his arm and turned to her, licking his lips like some sort of hungry, rabid dog. He was nicely dressed, and clean-shaven. Compared to the usual hired fists who came knocking on their door, he could be considered attractive.

“Ellie? Is this your daughter?” He jerked a thumb at her, while questioning her father.

“Ellie, just leave.” Her father struggled, but he was no match for the two apes holding him. At nearly sixty, and after surviving a heart attack, even with a forceful struggle, he presented no real challenge.

“How much does he owe?” She tugged at her saddlebag, but took a step away from him. He towered her.

The man laughed, more of a snicker, and it came out forced. “You don’t have it in your little bag, sweetie.”

  “How much?” she demanded.

“One hundred and fifty thousand.” The man’s eyes narrowed. “Before interest.”

Before interest? What could her father have needed with that kind of money? She didn’t glance at him, knowing she’d see a pitying expression if she did.

“Do you have it in your little bag?” he asked, pointing to where she gripped the zipper.

“N-no. But we’ll get it,” she promised him. The café would be lost. Her mother’s dream gone. “We just need a little time.”

“He’s out of time.” He nodded to the men holding him, and they dragged her father toward the rear door leading to the alley.

“No!” She lunged at them, but the big goon with the too-black hair and condescending smile shoved her with one hand.

“No need for you to come. You don’t need to see this.”
