Jameson's Addiction

Page 16

by Glenna Maynard

“The judge issued an emergency hearing tomorrow morning, and I’m going to be there to make sure that bitch has to submit to the DNA testing. I want to put this shit behind us. I’m done with her games. I want her out of our lives. And I don’t even have to tape the final show for Nashville Star. I fulfilled my end of the contract. My guy found a loophole that allows me to miss one show and have a guest judge fill in, so I executed that right. I’m done, and now I am all yours.”

“All mine.” She moves to my lap straddling me. “I like the sound of that.” Her arms circle my neck and she kisses my lips. All the stress and drama fades away with her kiss. Peyton is all I need to feel at peace.

I wrap my fist up in her hair and tug roughly. “I’ve missed you, Fancy.”

“Then show me,” she demands lifting her shirt up and revealing her breasts that I love so much. Her dusty rose nipples are hard as glass. Laying her down on the bed, I get up to shut the bedroom door. I gaze at her laying there in nothing but a pair of black lace panties and wondering how in the hell I ever got so lucky to be given a second chance with this angel.

“Why don’t you show me.” I grin. Peyton seductively sucks on her finger then trails it down her torso between the valley of her breasts stopping only once inside her panties. My eyes fill with hunger as I watch her touch herself. My girl is so beautiful. A few months ago, I never dreamed this would be possible. That I’d have her back in my life and starting to build a future together.

The mattress dips as I move onto the bed. Peyton goes up on her knees and smiles at me. “Welcome home, Jameson.” Then she bends down and takes me in her mouth. Fuck her lips are like velvet pillows, soft and full. Made for loving me.

Ruby Jane is back at the house with Austin while Peyton and I show up for court. I still don’t know how I feel about Austin taking up with my little sister, but I know he’s a good dude, and he knows if he hurts her, I won’t hesitate to kick his ass to the ends of the Earth. There is a media circus outside of the courthouse as my lawyer escorts Peyton and me inside. Cameras are flashing and questions are being hurled at us from every direction. We block them all out and keep walking looking straight ahead. I am so ready for this nightmare with Viola to end. I don’t know if the she devil is here, but if she doesn’t show then we will all know she is full of shit. We take our seats in the back of the courtroom to wait for our case to be called. I look around the room, but Viola is nowhere to be seen.

Peyton squeezes my hand in hers. I know she is anxious for this to end as well. Steven called as we were going out the door and says he has the video edits ready. He’s just waiting for Peyton to give him the go ahead. The doors open and in struts Viola in a tight orange dress with her tits pushed up to her damn chin. She’s caressing her ever growing baby bump and has the audacity to smile at me. She takes her seat on the opposite side of the room next to her attorney, Carol Weilman. A woman known in Hollywood for being a real shark in child support cases. I’m not worried though. I know this baby isn’t mine.

Peyton lets out an exasperated breath and I lean into her. “Don’t worry. We’re going to win this and then we can go on with our lives and the media will move on to their next victim.”

“I know. I just hate even looking at her. She was so fake when we were on the show. She could have just told me outright, but she kept having these cryptic conversations with me like I was supposed to know what she was hinting at.”

“She loves attention and games. Don’t waste your energy, babe.”

Finally, we are called up front and just as the judge is looking over the case my attorney asks to approach the bench, and much to my surprise a photographer has come forward to make a counter paternity claim stating he is the father of her baby. With this news, Viola confesses to sleeping with the guy, but says she thought the baby was mine due to the dates of conception her OBGYN gave her. I don’t buy her bullshit story. Even though she now says she was mistaken when faced with the facts, I still want the DNA test. I want the world to know without a doubt that this child isn’t mine. The judge grants my request and in another two weeks we will get the results in.

After court I take Peyton by Steven’s to review the music video. It’s fucking genius. Seeing her all dressed up with that old school look in red satin is turning me on. My girl is going to be a star. I want to be selfish and tell her not to release the video, but she’s always wanted this. I had my turn and now it’s hers.

We get back to the house and my sister and Austin left us a note that they went out for lunch. I crumple up the note and toss it in the trash, but then I smile, because if Austin is serious about my sister, he’s the one who will have to deal with Thea and Rodney.

“What are you smirking about?” Peyton pesters, leaning up to give me a quick peck on the mouth.

“I’m just happy, Fancy. Really fucking happy.”

“Do you know something I don’t?” She looks at me quizzically.

“What I know is that in a few weeks we will be rid of Viola and your album will be dropping. I already know it will be a hit.”

She frowns. “Not if the label hates the direction that I want to move in.”

“They’d be crazy to ignore the genius of it. And if they do then fuck’em. I’ll pay them off and produce your music myself. We’ll make our own damn label. Back in Nashville. We could build our own studio on the property I bought. It’s big enough.”

  “You’re serious about this?”

“I’ve been thinking it’s time for a change. I want to make music and babies with you, Peyton.”

“Music and babies.” She smirks, repeating me.

“You got a problem with that?”

“Nope.” She pops the P, and I stalk toward her moving her down the hallway to the bedroom. “What are you doing?”

“Getting a start on making babies.” I grab the back of her neck and bring my mouth down on hers. “You want to make a baby with me?”

“Oh, are you asking for my consent this time?”

“Nope,” I mock her, popping the P. I shove the strap of her dress down her arm and kiss along her shoulder blade and up her throat, nipping at her sun kissed skin. “I am starting to love you in dresses, Fancy. I love dirtying you up in them.”

“Guess I had better stock up then.”

“It’d be a good idea,” I growl and then I rip the front trying to get to her breasts.

  “It has a zipper.”

“I know.” I smile and capture her nipple in my mouth as I hoist her legs around my waist and push her up against the wall.

  Chapter 34

  Nashville Gawker

And they say the truth will set you free. A spokesman for my favorite reformed bad boy, Jameson Lewis has just confirmed that the paternity results are in. Viola Cortella is not his baby momma. This new is just in after Jameson and his gorgeous girlfriend, Peyton, announced on social media that they are starting their own recording label together in their hometown of Nashville. That’s right Music City, Peyson is coming home. I wish the happy coupe the best and as for Viola Cortella, I hope she leaves their names out of her lying mouth.

Sources close to Jameson Lewis tell me that not only did she lie about him being the father, but she is the one who was cheating on him with her real baby daddy up and coming fashion photographer Danny Jank. Remember you heard it here first. I will be following up on this story as it develops.

  Chapter 35

  Nashville Gawker

It’s your favorite gossip queen back with more news. I hear wedding bells are in the near future for Jameson Lewis and Peyton Mathews. That’s right ladies he is officially off the market and marrying who he refers to as the love of his life. I don’t know what Peyton has done to the former bad boy, but she has turned him into a true southern sweet potato. And I for one cannot get enough of the sweet things he has to say about his lady love. Rumor has it that his longtime bandmate and best friend is not only his best man in the ceremony, but Austin may be tying
the knot soon himself. He was photographed this morning window shopping for a ring for his current flame Ruby Jane Lewis. Yes, little sister of Jameson Lewis. Word is they met on the set of Peyton Mathews’ first video and it was love at first sight. Love is in the air people. Love is in the air. I am watching my inbox waiting for my invitation to this royal rock ‘n roll wedding. I just want to know if Cupid can help a girl out and let me catch the bouquet?

  Epilogue

  Peyton

“Come on, it’s about to air,” Ruby Jane shouts from the media room.

I waddle my way from the kitchen with a bowl of popcorn. I hand the bowl off to Thea and ease onto the couch with the help of my husband. Everyone is here for the premier of a reality show I reluctantly signed off on with Jameson. It’s called celebrity weddings. We were approached for a full season of our own show, but I’ve had enough reality TV to last me a lifetime.

I prefer to live privately. Well as much as the paparazzi will allow us these days but no more cameras are following me around anytime in the near future. Jameson kisses my temple and turns up the volume on the big screen. Nana and Pappy will watch it tomorrow they are already turned in for the night, they live in our guesthouse. All it took for Pappy to agree to give up his house was Jameson mentioning a private fishing pond. Austin and Ruby Jane are still going strong after two years. I think this Christmas he is going to propose. It took my man a while, but he is finally okay with their relationship. Once he saw that things were serious between them, he was actually happy about the coupling.

As soon as the episode starts, Harlow starts crying through the baby monitor. Her first birthday is coming up soon. I didn’t plan on getting pregnant again so soon after her birth but when she was three months old my doctor confirmed that we were expecting our second child. We won’t know the sex until the birth. We both agreed we wanted this one to be a surprise, but I think Jameson is secretly hoping for a son.

“I got her,” my father announces, getting up from his seat. Since he divorced from Barb, he has been like a completely different man. He’s always smiling and happy. He still hasn’t found his one, but he sure enjoys the single life and being a Grampy.

“Oh my God, this is it,” Ruby Jane gushes.

Jameson appears on camera and they show a clip of him singing the song he wrote for our wedding day.

Whenever I look at you all I can picture is forever

I will never stop loving you

You’re the love of my life

Whenever I look at you all I can see is my future

With this ring I vow to love no other but you

  You’re my forever

  The love of my life

  I’ll never stop wanting you

I only want to dance with you

When I look at you all I see is my forever

I only want to make music with you

  You’re my forever and always

I can’t help but cry. I know this man truly loves me and true to his word he has given me a life worthy of a fairytale. I stare into his eyes and he mouths the word, “Forever,” at me then kisses my swollen knuckles. My dad brings Harlow in and plops her down in Jameson’s lap. The sight of them together is the most beautiful thing in the world to me. She has his dimple when she smiles.

  Author’s Note

  Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoyed Peyton and Jameson’s story. This book took me years to write. I started it way back in my early publishing days, 2013 to be exact. I kind of stuck it in a drawer about two years ago and gave up on it. Recently, I came across the file again and sent it to my bestie, Dawn and asked her what she thought and to my surprise she actually liked it. I had approached her about helping me finish the book as my cowriter, because I love writing with her. But I think I was just too close to this story, and it was just too personal for me because the lyrics in this book are my original song lyrics, and I needed to finish what I started my way. Had it not been for Dawn pushing me to continue writing it I may have stuck it in a drawer for another five years, but I am so glad I didn’t. I hope if you enjoyed this book you will consider leaving me a few lines on your retailer or site of choice to let me know your thoughts. I love hearing from you.

He’ll rock more than her heart.

My only goal as soon as I graduate is leaving this small town and everyone in it behind but then he happens. Kai Cooper is broody and mysterious. He’s everything I said I didn’t want. A bad boy musician on the road to stardom. A complication I never saw coming. He’s got secrets that not only rock my heart, they shatter my world, leaving me to pick up the pieces.

Suffocation is the process of asphyxiation.

Asphyxia, derived from the Greek language, meaning without a heartbeat.

Being loved is just like being suffocated.

This is the Suffocation of Katie.

  Chapter 1

Slender, cold fingers pluck one of my earbuds out. “Straight home after school.”

“Yes, mother,” I groan, not bothering to look at her. She kisses the top of my head, and I shrink away from her touch. It’s not that I don’t love my mother. I do. There are just some things that alter your perception of people. Once you know their dirty truth, there is no going back with them. I carry my mother’s guilt—her sins are with me every day…I suppose that makes me a hypocrite, considering I have guilt and sins of my own.

She sticks my bud back in my ear, and I continue to slurp the last of the milk circling the bottom of my cereal bowl. I shiver as I get the last drop. The past year has been rough. The heating in our old house isn’t that great. I taped a trash bag over my bedroom window to try to keep some of the draft away.

We can’t afford my getting sick again. Two years ago, I came down with pneumonia and spent a very dull week in the hospital. My mom, she missed a lot of work, so she could sit at my bedside and paint my toenails pink. I hate pink. I think she did it trying to get a rise out of me, but I begged her to go home. Honestly, I think she was there because my doctor was young and hot. And well…my mother, she n
ever passes up a chance to flirt with a good-looking man, especially one who has money.

No one knows what my home life is like. I lie to everyone. I tell my friends that my mother is only a waitress at the local diner. The lie is much easier than the truth. My mother doesn’t only work the normal nine to five at the diner…she turns tricks on the side. My mother is a glorified prostitute. Classy, right? I hate it.

My mom didn’t grow up dreaming of being a hooker. She said that men were going to take that piece of her regardless. She might as well be paid for it.

She says to me, ‘Katie, I do everything I do, because that’s how much I love you.’

Have you ever had someone love you so much that you feel like you can’t come up for air? That is how much my mother loves me, although I’m the product of rape. Her love is suffocating—being loved is just like being suffocated.

My mother has never told me who my father was or is. I can’t imagine how hard it was for her to make the choice to raise me, but she did. I love her for loving me that much, but some days it is so overwhelming.

Our home is far from fancy, we live on the rougher side of the train tracks. Most of our furniture is hand me downs from friends. I babysit on the weekends for cash to get what I need for school, but it barely covers my supplies. We really can’t afford the rent here, even with government assistance, but mom has a deal worked out with the landlord, or as I call him, the slumlord. What kind of deal do they have? I don’t want to know.

My mother lights up her cigarette, adding to the already stale smell of smoke and liquor. I hate going to school smelling like a bar.
