I'll Do Anything (The Challenge Night Series Book 1) Page 8

by K. L Mann

Lorenzo’s cock is shoved its full length into me and I wince and bite my lip. His veins create a texture I’ve only dreamt about, it’s unmatched by any lover I’ve ever kept.

The fullness I feel makes my body swoon.

“Oh my god.” I moan and tip my head back searching for relief.

Lorenzo’s cock is punishing me rapidly and harder than pleasure should be allowed to escape through. The counter is the perfect height for this and I’m loving every painful second of being fucked viciously.

Every few strokes, he hits the very back of my pussy and I jerk away from it. It’s an automated response, I can’t help it.

“Apologize.” He rasps, fucking me harder.

“Screw you, I’m not saying sorry for anything.” I moan, fucking him back by pushing into him.

“Apologize for what you said, or you won’t get to come. I'll stop right now, Katherine.” He threatens with a smirk.

“You wouldn’t.” I yelp, feeling his hands dig deeper into my skin.

Lorenzo slows his pace, nearly pulling out of me.

“Okay!” I grumble. “I’m sorry for yelling and calling you an ass, but I’m not sorry for being late. Don’t stop, please.” I beg pathetically, just like he wants.

His pace returns to lethal as he grins and bites my neck. I yelp but relish in it.

“Are you going to come for me now, Kate?” Lorenzo taunts, licking up my neck, slamming his cock into me ruthlessly.

“Lorenzo” I moan. “Lorenzo please, I’m going to come, please don’t stop.” Just as I beg his thumb starts to rub my clit and I’m lost. “Fuck yes!”

I grind myself against his rapid thrusts like a madwoman and pleasure shoots through my whole body. My moans don’t end and they don’t quiet down until I hear him grunt and feel his pool of heat melt with mine.

I grab the back of his neck and pull him into me, not wanting the pleasure to end. We’re both breathing out of our noses and fighting with our mouths. I get a few more kisses in before we’re interrupted.

  “Ehm.”

I stop grinding on his cock, mortified at who might have seen me moments ago. Lorenzo's cock is still inside of me and I’m barely shielded by his body from the door.

“Wedding planner is at the gate, you have less than five minutes.” Gio’s voice sounds distant.

  Maybe he’s not looking.

“Call Caterina to clean up the kitchen. We’ll be right out.” Lorenzo commands.

“Is he gone?” I whisper, embarrassed.

  “Yes.”

“I don’t want to stop.” I pant, pulling him into me further by his hips.

“You can’t take anymore, and we have guests. There’s a bathroom right next to the pantry door. Clean up.” Lorenzo’s voice returns to his stern tone.

He pulls out of me and my body protests. My body and my mind are two different people. My mind doesn’t like Lorenzo nearly as much.

He quickly hands me my dress and lifts me off of the counter. I do what I’m told not wanting to be caught undressed, again.

My face is surprisingly well intact and my hair only needs a few touch-ups. I force myself to pee and clean my lady business up before throwing my dress back on. When I stand up, I can feel the soreness creeping in. My legs feel wobbly but I’m determined to appear unfazed. I’m out of the bathroom in what felt like two minutes.

I find a woman with a straight black, long bob haircut cleaning up the mess Lorenzo made. She smiles at me as I pass by. Gio, Lorenzo and a woman I assume is the wedding planner are standing in the foyer.

She must have just come inside.

She looks like Elsa Hosk’s twin. Blonde long wavy hair is pouring around her face and chest. She’s wearing a short black dress that hugs her waist but flows around her thighs. The long sleeves are sort of puffy and she’s wearing a pair of Jimmy Choo’s.

The woman is standing too close to Lorenzo but as Gio sees me coming, Lorenzo meets me in my path to him.

“There you are.” He says casually. He reaches behind my head and pulls my forehead to his lips.

I smile at him like I’m perfectly content.

“Sorry for the delay, these curls don’t always want to corporate.” I lie.

“Katherine, this is Elizabeth, she's going to handle all of the details for our day.” Lorenzo takes my hand and brings me closer to our wedding planner.

I reach out my hand to shake hers.

“Nice to meet you.” I smile and move my body even closer to Lorenzo’s, claiming him subtly. I don’t know why I do it, but I do.

“You as well. I’m very excited for this project but we don’t have much time at all.” She shakes my hand back and smiles big at me. “Shall we get started?”

“Yes, let’s get started.” Lorenzo takes my hand and leads me into a seating room I haven’t been in before.

Gio and Elizabeth follow. Lorenzo sits down on a Victorian style sofa and pulls my hand forcing me to sit with him. There’s a matching sofa parallel to us and a decorative glass table in between. Gio takes a seat off to the side and pulls out a blackberry, leaving us to it.

“So.” Elizabeth pulls an iPad from her bag. “How did you two meet?” She looks up with a smile and then back down ready to type.

Ugh can this be over already? Show him you aren’t fazed from earlier, act Kate!

“Lorenzo and I met in New York where I used to live.” I smile, not knowing what else to say.

“Katherine was working on a project that a friend of mine wanted to invest in. We met at an event for it.” Lorenzo adds smoothly.

“How nice.” Elizabeth smiles again. “So, I know that we have decided on your parents’ estate for the event. Have you decided on a color theme or any type of aesthetic you’d like?”

I might have if I was given any notice about actually having to plan a fucking wedding.

“Honestly I’m not sure. I’ve been so swooped up in the moment of being so madly in love, I haven’t had time to think about it.” Lorenzo's hand tightens on mine. “But I’ve always liked a very elegant theme, maybe white and rose gold colors. We could have white, and different shades of blush-colored flowers with some hints of green in the arrangements.” I add, appeasing his grip on my fingers.

“That sounds very lovely and very possible to do on such short notice.” Elizabeth is typing away but keeping her tone interested. “Lorenzo’s parents have handled catering already, but are you looking for a certain type of cake?”

“Red velvet.” Lorenzo declares. “It’s Katherine’s favorite.” My cheeks flush against my will.

  It is my favorite.

“Perfect. Lorenzo, I have you down for 3 groomsmen. Your brother, Luca and Gio. That’s correct?”

  “Yes.”

“And Katherine, do you have any bridesmaids?”

Shit. How the fuck am I supposed to answer that?

“I’m planning to ask Arianna this week. I’m sure she’ll say yes, but most of my friends are working on projects back home and won’t be able to make it.” Thinking about how lonely I sound makes me feel pathetic.

“We can make that work, don’t worry.” Elizabeth tells me mildly. “And will your father be giving you away?”

  Pain.

“Uhm no. My father passed away.” I don’t know what else to say.

“Oh. I’m so sorry. We can do a non–traditional walk then, if you’re comfortable walking down the aisle on your own.” Elizabeth looks up from her iPad.

“Yes, that’ll be fine.” I pull my hand from Lorenzo’s and set it on his thigh. “As long as this man is at the end, I’ll be able to get there.” I make myself smile at him. He gives me a tight smile in return. I’m acting better than him today and it seems like it is throwing him off.

“Alrighty.” I can see Elizabeth’s eyes roll from the corner of mine. “I think I have everything I need; do you have any other questions or ideas for me?” Lorenzo shakes his head no.

“No, I think it will be perfect.” I sta
nd up and shake her hand again. “Gio will show you out, thank you again.” I motion her to Gio before she can reach her hand to Lorenzo. She takes the hint and follows Gio out of the room.

I sit back down and huff. Lorenzo is still sitting at my side, neither of us speak until we hear the front door close.

“You could have given me more time to prepare for that. I’ve never had to plan a wedding before let alone with no notice.” I grumble and adjust my position.

My soreness is flooding me, turning into pain. I wince, hoping he doesn’t see. He really did a number on me. The pain is beating through me but I still feel starved for more punishment.

  “You did fine.”

“Did I earn more questions then?” I shift again slightly.

“You earned the throbbing pain you're in.”

I stand up in anger to get away from him.

“God! You’re so fucking confusing. You’re nice one second and completely indifferent to me the next. What the hell do you want from me? I’m doing everything you ask!”

He stands up and I take a step backwards. His seriously dark demeanor has me startled.

“Why are you playing along with all of this? James is dead, our deal is invalid! Why aren’t you trying to leave?” Lorenzo fists are balled up at his sides as he tries to inch closer.

Every step he makes forward I take one back.

“Where the hell am I supposed to go?” My voice cracks. “My husband is dead; my job is gone and you made me kill Price! I know absolutely nothing about you and how far your reach goes! You expect me to be stupid enough to think I could escape? I haven’t even been in half of the rooms in this place! I have no idea what part of Italy we’re in, and you brought me here without a passport!” I’m breathing frantically now. “I’m doing everything you want and you’re acting like I have some ulterior motive behind accepting whatever fucked up fate I’ve been given. This is the only life I have left!”

He stops inching toward me and pulls his hands to his neck. His head tips back and he seems strained.

  “One question.”

“Are you going to kill me?”

I have way more than one question, but this one came out first. I need reassurance.

“Are you going to do something to get yourself killed?” Lorenzo retorts.

“How can I answer that, when I don’t know the fucking rules.” I lower my voice to stop it from breaking yet again.

“I don’t trust you.” His voice is stern, like a professor telling a student they’ve failed a test.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

“I’m gonna take a wild guess and assume you trust no one completely.” My hands are on my hips now and I’m seconds from trying to walk away again.

“I don’t trust you, but my mother and sister seem to.” He sighs. “If I tell you things, I’ll just have to kill you and wipe your existence into dust if you betray my trust. Are you ready for that? That kind of pressure? If you weren’t already a target by being my fiancé, I wouldn’t even consider telling you a damn thing.”

Lorenzo closes the gap between us but I don’t back away. I feel the wall too close to my back, I have no more room to get away. I don’t even know if I want to get away anymore.

“I don’t have anywhere else to go. I can’t live on eggshells, just talk to me. Please.” I pout.

Lorenzo looks into my eyes like he’s searching for the trust he can’t seem to give me.

“Boss, we’ve got a problem.” Luca is at the door; his face doesn’t look good.

“Che cos'è?” Lorenzo doesn’t move but his eyes leave mind and he looks to Luca.

I don’t know what he asks him. I look too and Luca glances at me then back to Lorenzo.

  “Il brutto.”

  I think that means bad.

The next few moments feel like a flash. Gio is pulling me up to my room. Lorenzo goes with Luca without telling me anything. My opportunity has passed and now I’m being thrown into more chaos.

  My head spins with frustration.

“You’re hurting my arm.” I protest as Gio is taking me up a flight of stairs too quickly.

He doesn’t say anything. I’ve never used the stairs since being here and the journey to my room is faster than it would have been in the elevator.

Gio pushes my doors open and pulls me inside. The doors are shut behind him loudly. He seems so serious, not angry or happy or even upset. He’s laser focused, like he’s a highly trained soldier at war.

I pull my arm away from him and rub where his fingers squeezed too tightly. The pain soothes quickly.

Gio stays in my room with me.

  “You’re not going with them?”

“No.” Gio pulls a gun from the back of his pants and I jump instinctively. He’s not pointing it at me though, he does a quick press check. “I’m not gonna shoot you Kate.” He scoffs. “If I’m not on guard and something happens to you today Lorenzo will skin me alive. Literally.”

“Yeah, cause he cares so much.” I retort sarcastically. “How long are we going to be up here?” I complain.

  “I don’t know.”

Gio takes a chair from my closet and sets it by the side of my bedroom doors and sits in it. His gun is still in his hand and his blackberry is in his other. The gun is beautiful, silver and I’m pretty sure it’s a 1911.

“I’m going to change.” I murmur and start to peel off my stupidly long boots.

“Don’t wear anything you can’t run in.”

  What?

“Please tell me that was a joke.”

Gio doesn’t tell me it’s a joke. He doesn’t say anything. He stays on his phone and keeps his eyes off of me. I hate all of these secrets; I hate Gio right now.

  I’m scared and I don’t like it.

Frustrated, I pull off my dress over my head with my back to Gio before shutting my closet door fully behind me. I pull off my accessories minus my ring and pull on a pair of black athletic leggings. I switch into a pale blue sports bra and throw a long sleeve workout shirt that’s tight around my breasts but loose around my arms. It’s a grey-blue color so I decide on a grey pair of air max 270’s to match after throwing on a regular pair of black socks.

I finish changing and leave my closet grumpy. I just want to put on a pair of pajamas and drink myself to sleep. Gio hasn’t moved from his chair.

I flop on to my bed, face up.

“You saw us earlier. In the kitchen.”

  I hear him sigh, painfully.

“Yeah.” Another huff escapes him. “I’m lucky he didn’t stab me for it.”

I eye him, looking for clues about how much he really saw. He gives nothing away.

“Did you see me then?” I ask, not looking at him any longer. I’m too afraid he’ll look back.

Gio doesn’t reply, and I don’t know if he looks at me. I don’t know whether that means yes or not.

“Do you get to tell me what’s going on? Or am I supposed to sit here and come up with my own theories?” I change the subject to erase the thick tension in the air.

I know I’m being rude to Gio even though it’s not his fault, still I don’t care enough to stop.

“You'll be fine. The property is secure, this is an extra precaution.”

Gio is still looking at his phone instead of at me.

“What about Lorenzo, will he be fine?” I ask.

I don’t know which answer I want from him.

Gio chuckles. This time, he looks at me to reply.

“He’ll be more than fine. No one can take il demonio down, not permanently.”

  The demon?

  Chapter 10: Demonio

Two hours pass, Gio and I don’t talk, I stare at my ceiling and wait the entire time. In a way, it wasn’t so bad. I kept my mind occupied thinking about old manuscripts from books. Trying to recount the plot, like I’m reading in my head. Only a few flashbacks peaked through my efforts to shut them out.

I hear doors opening and then Gio’s phone rings. It on
ly rings once, he picks it up quickly. He’s speaking Italian and I can’t understand what he’s saying. I force myself to sit up and watch him. My back is sore from laying down in strange positions out of boredom.

My alarm clock says it’s almost 5pm and I’m thirsty. My mouth is dry and I’m completely bored out of my mind. I want to do anything other than sit here longer.

  Gio hangs up his phone.

“They’re back.” He holsters his gun and opens my bedroom door.

  Freedom at last.

I jump out of my bed and follow him; he lets me. We take the stairs and find Luca talking in Italian, surrounded by a bunch of men in black suits. His lip is bleeding and his hair is a mess. I stare at them all as we pass by. My stomach flutters with nerves.

I follow Gio toward the kitchen.

Lorenzo is pouring himself a drink at the island counter. He looks different, darker. His fists are cut up and arms are splattered with blood. Lorenzo commands Gio to do something in Italian and we’re left alone after he nods in understanding.

“What happened to you?” I don’t move closer; his eyes are fixed on me and they’re black.

“Business. It’s taken care of now.” He sips his scotch faster than he normally does.

“Is all of the blood yours?” I wonder out loud.

  “No.”

I slowly walk over to inspect his hands.

He lets me look at them reluctantly. They feel cold and rough to the touch, making me shiver. There are only a few little cuts on them, meaning almost none of the blood coating his arms is his.

“You should probably get these cleaned up.”

He doesn’t respond, he’s just watching me.

After a few moments, I tug on his hands to move them into the kitchen sink. I let the water run warm before putting his hands under the stream. He lets me wash off his arms and hands. I can feel him staring at me the entire time but I don’t look back at him. There’s too much blood to scrub off. I use my fingers to rub out the red stains from his skin, and lather them with soap.

After a few minutes his arms are clean and the small cuts on his fists look more like scratches. Only small little lines of red blood seep out of them. I use a paper towel to pat his hands dry. He’s still watching me, it’s too quiet and his breathing is the only sound filling the air.
