“I know you already miss the children at the orphanage,” Bryan said.
Sienna ran her fingers through his hair and said, “Yes, I do already miss them. After we have this baby, though, I will have my hands full with two kids. That will be like a full-time ministry.”
They chatted about the memorable times they’d had in Lima and their eagerness to finally go back home. With Trisha and Audrey’s help, they had already purchased a four-bedroom house in Rosefield. She couldn’t wait to settle in with Bryan and Ethan and start planning the nursery for their coming baby. She said to Ethan, “You will have so much fun growing up with your cousins.”
Ethan, who had his eyes closed, briefly opened them and then shut his eyes again, and Sienna smiled in amusement. She looked up when the same voice that had announced their flight would be delayed announced that it was time for them to board their flight to Boise. Everyone around them stood up. Bryan lifted Ethan into his arms and carried his hand luggage in his left hand.
Sienna stood up and they boarded their flight together.
After they had buckled their seatbelts with Ethan sitting on Bryan’s lap, Sienna took a deep breath and said, “America, here we come!”
Throughout the long flight back to the States, Sienna chatted with Bryan while trying to soothe Ethan. From time to time, Bryan carried him until he grew restless again and wanted to roam the aisles of the airplane. Sienna grabbed him whenever he tried to do so and forced him to sit down on her lap again.
After their second meal, Sienna dozed off. She dreamt about Rosefield and her sisters. Her eyes suddenly flew open when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Bryan was smiling at her. Ethan was in his arms, struggling to escape.
“We have landed, Sienna,” Bryan said.
She lifted her brows, surprised. “We’re already in the United States?”
“Yep!”
She beamed, excited. Soon, she would see her sisters again.
The short plane ride from Boise to Rosefield was uneventful, except that her excitement grew once they landed. At the airport, after she and Bryan had collected their luggage, they made their way to arrivals. She saw Audrey and Trisha waiting for them from a distance. Dropping the bag she was holding, she flew to her sisters with her arms open wide, and they fell into each other’s arms.
Audrey stepped back slightly and beamed. “Welcome back, little sister.”
Trisha grinned and hugged Sienna again. “I am so glad you are finally back home where you belong.”
Bryan and Ethan finally caught up and Audrey and Trisha gave Bryan a big hug. Audrey lifted Ethan into her arms and said to him, “You are such a big boy now.”
He had a confused look on his face as he pointed at Audrey’s belly, which was now huge, and then pointed at Sienna’s as well. He said. “Baby in there and in there.”
“Yes,” Sienna smiled at him. “Two babies, Ethan. You’re about to be an older brother and also get another cousin.”
Trisha giggled and shook her head. “No, not two babies. Three.”
Sienna covered her mouth with her hand and said, “Oh, Trisha! You’re pregnant. I didn’t know.” She reached out and hugged her sister. “Congratulations, dear.”
Trisha laughed; her face radiant. “I wanted to surprise you,” she said.
Sienna wrapped her arms around Audrey and Trisha. “So, three sisters are pregnant at the same time. How cool is that?”
“Pretty cool,” Audrey said. She put her hand on her belly and smiled. “I can’t wait for this boy to come.” She looked at Sienna and Trisha. “And for your babies to be born as well. Our children will not lack for playmates, I’m telling you.”
“Wasn’t that always our dream as kids?” Sienna said. “For all our children to grow up together and be as close as we are.”
“Yes,” Trisha said, smiling. “Remember we had that silly dream when we were children that we would all be pregnant at the same time.”
“Yes, I remember that,” Sienna chuckled. “We gave up that silly dream when we grew up. But here we are now! Our silly, childish dream came true after all. God does have a sense of humor.”
“He does,” Audrey said. “He’s blessed us with so much and we have the greatest blessing now.”
Sienna turned to look at Bryan and smiled. “Yes, we do.” God had truly given her the greatest blessings anyone could ever have; a husband whom she loved dearly, a precious child, and another on the way. She said, “We’ve been blessed with so much love and abundance.”
“What do you girls think about starting a foundation of some sort in honor of Mom and Dad?” Audrey asked.
“That’s a great idea,” Trisha answered.
“Yes,” Sienna said. “I would love to go back to the women’s camp soon and maybe help them out with whatever they need.”
“I would love that, too,” Trisha said.
They put their arms around each other again and made their way out of the airport. Bryan walked in front of them with Ethan.
“So, what shall we call the foundation?”
“How about The Sisters of Rosefield?” Sienna suggested.
“Umm... I don’t know,” Audrey answered. “Maybe, but we will think of more names when we get home.”
“Whose home?” Sienna asked, smiling.
Audrey shrugged. “What does it matter? We are sisters. My home is your home, yours is mine.” She looked at Trisha and smiled. “Yours too, Trish.”
Trisha shook her head and said, “Umm… I don’t know. Frank will not be super comfortable with you two living at our house. He will probably grow tired and throw you out within days.”
Sienna and Audrey laughed.
They all reached Trisha’s car and Sienna got into the back seat. Trisha entered the driver’s seat and Audrey got into the passenger’s seat beside her.
Sienna turned to look at her sisters, her heart beating with excitement. She could see on their faces how excited they were. They were all finally together again, as it should be.
Bryan and Ethan got into the back seat with her, and she put her arm around them. She looked at her husband and son, and then at her sisters in the front seat. And then a huge smile broke out on her face. She couldn’t stop smiling as they drove to Trisha’s, thrilled beyond words that she was about to start another chapter of her life with the people who meant the most to her, in the town that she loved.
