“It’s seemingly fine.”
“So, if we had Iota particles you could make it work?”
Aly’s eyes darted toward the trans-space actuator. “I guess so.”
Not having any clue how they’d do it, Jason gave his engineer the only logical instruction. “Then find me Iota particles.”

Marissa’s eye opened to a haze of blurry color. She took a moment to add it all up but quickly realized she was no longer in Doctor Erkens’s medical practice.
I’m back on the Argo.
She’d figured she was in the infirmary. Then remembered what Jason had told her. “Don’t worry, Doctor Tai will sort all this out.”
A familiar noise approached her. It was Tai’s mobility chair. “Did you say something?” the doctor asked.
Marissa shook her head. “Ignore me.”
Tai smiled and waved a medical scanner over her. “You’re coming along nicely.”
Kione stepped into the infirmary looking a hell of a lot healthier than when she’d seen him last at the colony.
“Does that mean I’m cured?” Marissa tried to sit up, but Tai’s gentle touch kept her firmly in bed.
She nodded. “Cured and back aboard the Argo. We left the planet a few days ago.”
Marissa breathed a sigh of relief. She never wanted to step foot on that world again. “How long until I can get out of here?”
“Another two days at least. Unfortunately, you won’t recover as quickly as Kione.”
Marissa put her head back on the pillow and closed her eyes. “I think I can manage that.”
“Kione, can you give us a few minutes?” Tai moved closer to Marissa, and her friend exited the infirmary, leaving them alone. “There’s something I need to tell you.”
Marissa rolled onto her side. “What is it, Doctor?”
“When we returned to the ship, I did all the scans I wasn’t able to back on the Scorpius Colony.” She paused. “I picked up an irregularity.”
Marissa raised an eyebrow. “What kind of irregularity?”
“It’s nothing bad. Quite the contrary.” She handed Marissa her medical scanner. “You’re four weeks pregnant.”
Marissa’s heart skipped a beat, and she did the math in her head. Could it be?
She peered at the screen at the small sign of life developing inside her.
Oh no…

Author’s Notes
Thank you all for joining me for what was the seventh book in the Frontier’s Reach series. We’ve entered the next phase of the journey, returning to deep space. This was a little different from the last few stories, which centered on and around Earth. It was great fun kicking off the newest arc of the adventure, taking the crew into truly unexplored territory. I can’t wait to show you where our characters go from here.
June has been an incredibly hectic, but productive month. It needed to with a short vacation planned for the start of July. By burning the midnight oil, I’ve kept on track with my plan to produce a Frontier’s Reach book every four weeks. In early August, Book 8 titled The Iota Enigma will be live for download.
As always, a massive thank you for all the feedback. I appreciate the reviews and ratings over at Amazon and Goodreads. There’s nothing better than fans loving one’s stories.
To keep up to date, please sign up to my Reader’s Club where you can find out everything Frontier’s Reach related before anyone else.
Until next time…
