The Witch Tamer, Book 1 Page 18

  "I'm OK."

In the car also she'd took me to a spot where she can sit on me and do a quickie. While she's bouncing up and down I told her the income today.

"What?! You made that much?! Already? Wait, you just started this only less than a month ago right? How are you getting so good so fast?" she's shocked while still in the throes of passion.

After that she came hard on me. "I l-love you Jay! I was so worried also," she decried.

How much of that is the mind control, I wonder? She seems to really like that I'm making enough in a day to probably be within reach of a good life for real.

(I did reset the Charm and Seduce skills before going to bed on her just in case, but I'm wondering if I don't actually need them, since they both seem to last more than a day.)

"I'm glad to see you also, hon," I told her with an a tight hug that makes it hard for both of us to breathe. She is squeezing me so hard.

This is wonderful to not be alone.

There's something to the idea of what families are about. I like this. I want this feeling between me and her as a man and a woman to keep growing.

  Thank goodness for mind control!

I want to get the other girl to like me more on her own before using charm and seduce. I hope this is possible, but it seems there has been progress.

  Chapter 13

  FBI office

Magitek Crimes Investigation Unit (At another location)

A big boss is in the room briefing the other team members.

"So you understand don't you? We have to get them. Everyone seems to have this feel that this Williams family is dangerous. We believe them to be some kind of crime lords for some underground system. But nobody can prove it. And we have yet to be able to penetrate any such underground system, though we'd caught underlings talking about it. Further, we never find the bodies also, but the pattern is there that anyone who crosses with them disappears. We also believe this underground system to somehow involve the magitek and mana systems, but that could be drugs or other products," the lead said.

Around him more than 3 teams of four people each were going through their briefings.

"So I'm going to give you team assignments and you can work on them. If you have any questions now is the time to bring them up. Each team will be working on a separate person in the family, since following the parents doesn't do any good," the lead said.

"Team 1 will be Johnson, Savage, Rykoff, and Alvarez. Team 2 will be Wester, Holt, Baxter, and Lazier. Team 3 I'll have you discuss and stay after to explain it. Your project will be different," the lead boss stated.

"Sir, question. I don't understand why we're not following the parents in this magitek cartel," one said.

"We talked about this already. The parents are just too sneaky. And if we ever had to really do anything people with magitek are pretty dangerous. How are we supposed to deal with that?" Alvarez told him before the lead guy did.

"We'll have our SWAT and other contract mages handle that. You won't be dealing with that. But if you find yourself in a position with one of them that looks dangerous, for now back off until we can get assists and reinforcements to help you. Anything else?"

"What did the most recent financial audit turn up? Anything?" One guy with glasses and a beard asked.

The boss sighed. "Nothing new. There was some kind of odd investment that we found, broken down in 3 payments trace to the same source and clearly hidden, adding up to 140,000 USD total. But we still can't identify what its for after it goes to a shell company. It did lead to a dead end also," a finance guy in the room that wasn't in the 3 teams said.

"Isn't that chump change compared to how much money they have in their company?" another asked.

"Yes it is...don't remind us. Its already tempting enough as it is keeping people from being aware of their wealth," the boss answered.

  "Anything else?"

Nobody is asking openly. But that might just be the morale in the room being low.

"So team 1 will be following and tracking Ryan's activities. Team 2 will be following Diego's activities. Team 3 is following..."

"The daughter right?" One guy guessed.

  "No."

"No? But she's a good lead!"

"I'm told to leave her alone by the higher ups. They won't explain why and I don't like it. It looks fishy but not worth risking my pension when they tell me someone is hands off. Instead you will try to recruit Jay and try to turn him against his family. You could also look at other targets to turn, but only look at recent recruits, because anyone that's been in the company for any lengthy period of time won't be receptive and will tip us off. I want the gloves off on this one. I don't care how you turn him but you better have something," the lead guy said. "Dismissed, all but team 3," he added.

When team 3 was left in the room they finally got to size each other up.

As this was like a new operation and had brought in resources from all over.

"Sir, why is our team half women? We need more guys, especially if there's an altercation of some kind. Magitek is so hard to fight against," one guy said stressed out, in team 3.

"That's because the four man team of team 3 has to have 2 women that can act as lures," he said.

  "Why?"

"We don't know what kind of girls Jay likes. We need both of them to make an attempt at trying to recruit him as a 'boyfriend' or boy toy. By inserting one of you into his life, we hope to gain access to the house and unlock new information outlets that we didn't have before," the boss said.

The two women on the team frowned. "I don't like it," the one said.

"I don't like it either," the second said.

"But you volunteered. Both of you said you'd be willing to go the extra mile to get in the special operations division. So you are saying that was all a lie?" the lead said.

The two women looked at each other.

"We...did say that. But we thought you meant going under cover, or extra stake outs," the one said.

"Well what did you think going under cover meant?" he asked.

"Well..." one of them looked at the other.

"We thought it would be easy money," one said embarrassed.

  The other guys chuckled.

"Ain't such thing as easy money, babe."

"True...I get it now. But its too late. I guess I'll probably be transferred huh?" she replied.

"What about you?" they turned to the other girl.

"I've done undercover before. This is different," one said squeamishly.

"How did you think we'd get information if not under cover?" another agent asked.

  Both of them looked down.

"Well I can't deprive you of a job. Its fine, you don't have to do this. But I am disappointed that you misled us," the boss said, wishing he could make them.

"Good, because like hell I'll..." the second woman stopped when the boss had a 3D image of Jay Williams up on the board.

"Is that really him?" the first woman asked.

  "Yes it is."

"That's sad boss. He looks kind of innocent and nice even," the one guy said.

"He turned 18 a few days ago also, which means the family is going to try to get their hooks into him now. Historically that's when they did so in the past," the boss reminded them.

"The truth is I'm already dating someone. So I can't do it. But he's...wow like, handsome," the one girl said.

"I just ended a relationship. My mind isn't really into it," the second woman said sadly and looking a bit jaded and grieved without wanting to.

"Well we need someone to try to befriend him. And we know he likes women only. I'll just have to look at other resources," the lead said.

  "Dismissed."

After the meeting, he'd transfer out the two liars, preferably to some po dunk place deserving of them.

  ...

  Jay point of view

  Tuesday afternoon

  Finally finished school.

Like usual, Melanie is waiting in th
e parking lot in her truck with the AC turned up to counter the afternoon heat.

"OK, let's go," I got into the right front passenger side.

"Jay, um...I have some bad news," Melanie started apologetic.

She looks really dolled up and nice. Its amazing how beautiful she is, and a great figure.

"Come get in the truck," she added.

  "Sure."

As soon as we'd shut the doors (with heavily tinted dark windows), she'd already unzipped her hoodie in the truck, letting me see her breasts. (She's ONLY wearing my hoodie and some shorts with some sneakers on.)

Wow. That's hot when she does that. She's a bit nervous, and looks around to make sure nobody can see us, but doesn't hide her chest and grabs me hard initiating a deep passionate kiss.

"What's up?" I tried to not stare.

"Um, I need help. My mom canceled my gas card. I use it for other expenses and spending cash also. And I only had the little cash I had in the bank that was in my checking out. All her help for me is cut off also," she said worried and frantic.

"Oh babe. I'm so sorry," I hugged her. She genuinely needed it, and is hugging me back while sniffling.

"I-I don't want us to end. She's putting pressure on me to be on her side's faction. But I want to be with you. I l-love you so much," she added.

Mind control is so bad ass. This is amazing that she'd sacrifice for me!

But I will take care of her for it. And I'll turn her to good also, and away from the evil of my clan. I will not let the clan mess her up and turn her into evil! Maybe this is why I've been given such cool skills!

I can use this to turn people good, and pull them out of evil! This kind of thinking is giving me courage right now.

"What should I do?" she asked.

"Just keep on being my woman. We'll live on a budget and have to be careful. But don't worry, this will be practice for when we would have started a family anyway. We'll just take care of each other," I told her.

"Oh Jay! That sounds wonderful!" she added.

"But...can we really do it, live on a budget?" she asked.

"All families do it. Money is overrated. Its just a means of exchange. If we're self sufficient, and stay working, and supporting ourselves we'll be fine. We don't need the others. We can live and be independent, we just need to buy time and hide it from the others. You'll still be beautiful without money. So will our love. And this will give us a chance to work up all kinds of skills. For now we focus on acquiring and building skills and saving up," I coached smoothly.

"Yeah, that's true. You're right. I should have thought about this sooner this way," she thought.

Both our families were obsessed with skill building. That's how you get into magitek. So hearing that we were going to build skills and overcome is perfect. And who wouldn't want cool stats from new skills!

Budgeting and economizing are real skills!

"Its hard to not worry, but I trust you. We won't go hungry right?" she asked, wiping away tears. I guess she'd been pretty rattled by being cut off. But I can help her with it. She'll need encouragement though.

"That won't be an issue. We can work out the gas also. And we won't ever go hungry. We can also acquire meat from the dungeon also, plus buy our food with money I make in the dungeon," I said.

"Oh good. Thanks!" she then hugged me again with another kiss. Damn that feels good.

After a quickie, in a place others wouldn't find us, we resumed driving.

By 4:01 PM we'd already arrived near 'The Tower' entrance. Again, I get dropped off to solo, while she goes home to wait for my call for a pick up. Sometimes Melanie wants to stay with me near the Tower entrance while I wait, but I'm worried about her being grabbed while I'm inside. And I don't dare take her inside yet.

The lines are big today for both going in the dungeon, and for other lines with the many shop stands.

To help with the big lines there's a number ticket machine so that if you need to use the bathroom you don't lose your spot.

(This morning also I'd worked hard to get a 'blind' charge set up on my second flashlight. It was barely ready in time, and what I'd worked on earlier. This means my flashlight with the extended batteries that don't fail, has a 'blind once per day' skill added to it.)

  My ticket says 184.

Ahead of me the guards are calling out the number for the guy who has the ticket number, 154.

(Wow, the wait is enormous today. Lots of people have come out to dungeon hunt.)

The cemented embankments around us for the Los Angeles river are still pretty low today.

I decided to go to the bathroom real quick. The dungeon administration had set up porta potties a few hundred yards down from the bazaar style temporary shop stands that used tents and setup tables or blankets.

But while inside the one, I started to hear a commotion, as I was zipping up my front. I used some alcohol wipes in my pocket, but then heard what sounded like criminal behavior.

  "Kill him," one voice said.

"Look at that asshole. Take his stuff. He's rich. Just the kind of target we want to rob," another gangster voice said.

"No one will notice a missing dungeon adventurer, right at the site of their own dungeon. They'll think kobolds or slimes did it," the first cackled.

Then I heard a pain filled groan as the sounds of someone getting beaten started. The ambush had begun.

I came out of the stall fast with my gear ready. It sounded like these guys were doing some vigilante work on someone they'd ambushed.

When I came out, I see a gang of 3 trying to hit a kid with knuckles. One of them was about to stab the victims with a knife. He was looking for the right angle but had to wait for his buddies to move out of the way.

The kid had been beaten on, and can't get away. They'd already knocked the wind out of him with him on all fours.

  "Hey asshole!" I yelled.

I hit the first one with my gear's enchanted item stun charge, that was trying to reach for some other weapon in his jacket. Then I hit the one with the knife with my enchanted flashlight's blind. And then stunned the third.

I hit the lead guy with my enchanted crowbar hard. Then again and again.

The stun wore off on the second one but the third one is screaming, "I'm blind I can't see! Help!"

  The stuns are repeated.

If I don't hurry, they will kill this kid! I have to work fast to save him, was all that was going through my mind!

Thug number 1 is...let's just say he's not getting up. Ever again.

I hit the stun charge again on gangster number 2.

Then he got hit also. Again, and again.

The third's blind status cured itself finally. But by then, I was hitting him over and over again.

By then, the three of them are dead.

I sat there trying to breathe.

  Shit.

  This sucks.

I wanted to be good. And I didn't like hurting people.

And I did rescue...huh? Where did he go?

The kid that was about to be murdered is gone and had run off somewhere. I guess that's a good thing. I hope he gets away.

But something curious was already starting to happen.

We're suppose to be outside the dungeon. But already the sand is eating the bodies here!

  What?!

Th-this means its expanding more than people realize! This also means the dungeon 'owns' the land surrounding the entrance and not just inside it!

I had to work fast and hurriedly checked the pockets of these guys for valuables. None of them had IDs. But I did see they all have the same gang tattoo.

The first one had $40 bucks. The second one had $27. And the third quiet one, had a nasty skull icon carved custom knuckles, and $312 in cash. This also means that probably the third one was the ringleader, as he had more status than the others.

'So its profitable to rescue people?' I thought.

Maybe I should keep helping people like this more often?

  T
he gangsters...from the look of their tattoos I can't help but wonder if they'd murdered others also. They say on gangsters that's what certain tattoos mean, especially when there's several of the same ones.
