He growls, actually fucking growls and grabs both my hands, putting them above my head. He holds them together with one hand, not painful but enough to let me know I’m not moving.

With his free hand he lifts my leg up on his shoulder giving him much better access. We both moan at the deeper, fantastic feeling.

I can feel him everywhere, and it feels so good. I start moving my hips back-and-forth, looking for any kind of friction. He bends down and takes me in a brutal kiss, as he pounds into me.

He pounds into me like I’m a life force, the last remaining breath humanity has ever known.

In less than one minute I’m peaking. “Asher!” I scream out his name. My legs are stiff and I’m shaking.

He plows me several more times as I can feel hot sticky come splashing all over my insides. My eyes go wide. I shake that feeling away, we’ll talk about it later. I’m in heavenly bliss right now.

Asher, the complete gentleman he is, goes and gets me a wet washcloth. When he comes back, I expect him to throw it at me, but he cleans me up.

“I haven’t tasted you yet, and I’m definitely not done fucking you. We will get you the morning after pill or whatever it is you girl’s use, if you’re not already on it, we’ll get it. I plan on staying in this bed with you all weekend.”

I feel for some reason I need to defend all women everywhere on what they have to do when a guy forgets to glove it. After he said the last part, I give in and decide to let it go for now. I smile, I’m getting laid all weekend.

Asher crawls in next to me as I squeeze my legs tight, this weekend is going to be epic.

It was the whole damn weekend. A box of condoms wouldn’t have been enough. But the pill will be, which I know Asher will grab. I’m officially in a sex coma.

  Eighteen

  AVERY

I whine as I roll over on my side, not exactly sure why the hell I’m up again in the middle of the night.

I face Asher and watch him sleep. I can say I honestly never thought we would get to this point together.

I never thought Asher Mancini would become somebody that I needed and relied on. I never thought I’d even be able to take to go on another date after what happened with Luca.

Asher’s been here since he snuck in two nights ago. He told me right away that he plans on spending the whole weekend with me, which is perfect.

I hear a little bit of grumbling, maybe it was laughing coming from downstairs. I look toward the door and smile, everybody’s in such a better mood. Even though if Mac catches them being loud on duty, he’s going to kick their ass.

I would never say anything, I look up to these guys, they saved mine and Tate’s lives. I’m sure they’ve done a shit ton for my grandfather and all of the Romano’s.

Asher rolls on his back with his arm across his chest and the other one above his head. He’s lightly snoring, it’s so adorable. I want to take a picture and remember this forever, because who knows what could happen tomorrow. It’s also something I could tease him with later on.

My stomach grumbles, so I decide to finally drag my ass out of bed and downstairs. It seems like I’m always starving in the middle of the night, most likely from all this physical energy I’ve been exerting. Since all the guards are talking and laughing, maybe they made food and are willing to share.

As I get up, I lean down and kiss Asher on the forehead. That causes him to reach for me, but he falls back asleep almost instantly.

Moments like this make me want to take out my phone and call my friend and tell her how hot my boyfriend is. I have a horrible urge to laugh right at this moment. I don’t want to wake Asher. I would just be telling Tate how hot her uncle is.

I look down, realizing I’m not dressed near enough to go out, so I throw on one of Asher’s T-shirts. The damn thing goes down to my thighs. I quickly pull on a pair of warm leggings, it’s chilly tonight in California.

I quietly make my way down the stairs. I like to see the guards in their natural environment so to speak. Not looking all stoic and mean.

Just as I expected, there are multiple guys in the kitchen, and it looks like Mac cooked. I can smell the food right as I walk in. I’m so grateful that Mac loves Italian.

He sees me come in and shakes his head as he turns back to grab me a plate. I almost skip over to the table with the other guys. There’s only one spot left, besides the head of the table where Mac sits with his men.

During the day, the house is ours, but at night the guards own it pretty much.

Everybody says hi to me, but I don’t really have anything to offer them in return except a small smile. I’m half asleep, and I just like listening to everybody talk and give each other shit.

I realize after Mac passed me my plate and when I’m almost done eating, that you can get a lot of gossip from these guys. I’m fairly sure they shoot the shit about us, too, but apparently in the land of the guards there’s some funny shit happening with their employers.

One guy keeps saying how at his last job one woman kept repeatedly asking him to fuck her. The woman was eighty-five years old and still going strong. He never did answer if he sealed the deal, and that made all of us erupt in laughter.

I don’t know why but listening to everybody just makes me want to reminisce.

I’ve been in California a little less than a year and at Blackwood Academy for six months.

I have grown so much as a person and an individual that it makes me happy. And I’ve fallen in love with someone I now adore a ton.

It obviously didn’t start out that way but that’s where it’s ended up, and hopefully that’s where it stays. I just pray that Asher and I can develop our relationship more.

I’m not gonna get my hopes up, though, because in the lives that we lead nothing’s given. Things could change at any time. I could be married off, he could be married off..., well, he’s the boss so he can’t be, I guess. I could be killed, he could be killed, or one of us could disappear. Our chances of us failing are astronomical. So much more overwhelming than what a normal couple would have.

I just feel in my gut that if we were normal, I don’t think I would’ve ever met Asher, we never would’ve connected. I’m not going to let anything get me down. This is our life, hopefully we can make the most of it.

The guys stand up and grab all the plates off the table and go over and wash them. This is cool, we don’t have a maid or anything, but I like that they’re doing their own shit. If they tried to leave them for me, I’d probably throw a hell of a bitch, but I still do them. I would just spit in their food or something later.

I step in line with the other guys. I feel like I’m following the movement. When Mac moves by me, he grabs my plate out of my hand and puts it in the sink with other soaking dishes. He does it for the rest of the guys behind him, too.

He’s kind of a perfectionist and he doesn’t want to wait forever. Some of these guys have to go over they’re dish several times before it’s actually clean. I’m left wondering who does their dishes at home.

The men start to disperse, most likely going back to their locations around the perimeter. I imagine even a couple of them are going to go hide in the shadows again.

The only ones left are Mac and a couple of guards. It looks like he might want to talk to them, so I decide to go lay back down. I make my way toward the main stairs leading up to my room.

From a sideways glance I spot Asher making his way down the stairs.

I’m about ready to tell him what an awesome fucking dinner he missed, but his face has me pausing. Within a second he starts to scream and wave his hands in my direction.

My eyes go wide. I can’t understand what he’s doing right now. Mac and the guards are yelling, too. All of them start to run toward me, and I’m looking around frantically, but I have no idea what’s going on.

Asher is running down the stairs at me. He’s not looking at my eyes, he’s looking at my chest.

I finally look down and that’s when my world s
hifts again, it actually does. The whole room is spinning. I have at least five of those laser red dots on my chest. No. No. No.

I know my face goes pale and my body frantically shakes. He’s back.
