“I don’t think your mum will let us.” He sighed, knowing I was right.

“I could make something up.” She would see right through it though.

“We are going, she wants us there. It’s important to her. This…will just have to wait.” It was just for an hour or two. Not like we were spending the entire night there. We would have plenty of time for this later on.

“Get a room you two.” Peeking over Talon’s shoulder, I found Gunner stood on the porch next door. I forgot he was Talon’s neighbour. Cole was next to Gunner and the furthest house was Winnie’s. Right little family affair going on.

“Fuck off you bastard.” Talon suddenly scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder. Laughing as he carried me down the path. Gunner just wolf whistled at us. Talon’s response was giving him the middle finger as he carried me inside.

He didn’t put me down until we were in the bedroom.

“There you go, safely delivered.” Shaking my head at him, I sorted some clothes out for me. I didn’t have any dresses or anything like that. Maybe I needed to go shopping at some point.

I decided on my favourite dark blue jeans which fit me like a glove. Hugging my legs and my arse perfectly. I knew talon would like them. Showing off my curves. Pairing it with a blush pink blouse which had a little white birds pattern on it.

Running my fingers through my loose curls, hoping to tame them a little.

“You look stunning.” Talon had come out the bathroom and was now admiring me. Making me blush from his fiery gaze.

“I’ll do I suppose.” Shaking his head at me.

“You are perfect.” Coming into the room, he slipped his cut off. Pulling his t-shirt over his head.

Biting my lip as I drank in the sight of him, he looked so damn tempting right now. I wonder if he would let me run my tongue over the indentations of his glorious muscles. His golden skin glowed under the sinking sunlight. A work of art stood right before me. I wanted to push him back onto the bed and never let him leave.

“You alright there, darling? You look a little flustered?” He knew what he was doing to me. Getting me, all riled up before we went to dinner.

“Just admiring my King, that’s all.” Closing the gap between us, I rested my hands on his shimmering skin. The way he looked at me, it was very clear he never wanted me to stop touching him.

“Admire away, love. I’m all yours.” Yes, he was. Trailing my fingers over his muscles. God, he must have been created by a sculptor. He was breath-taking. Running my finger teasingly along the waistband of his jeans.

“How much time do we have?” Checking the clock, he groaned when he realised, we had no time at all.

“Not even five minutes.” By the looks of it, he was going to be wandering around with a serious case of blue balls. His cock pressed against his jeans, begging to be set free.

“Pity.” He growled at my taunting tone. His lips collided with mine as he pushed me back against the bed before I even knew what was happening. Covering my body with his. Nestling himself perfectly between my thighs. Grinding those hips, making me moan for him. He wasn’t playing fair.

“You’re a tease you know that.” He murmured against my lips. Fluttering my eyelashes, like I was all sweet and innocent.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Circling my hips against his stiff contained manhood. Hearing his deep groans made my pulse quicken.

“If we aren’t at my mums on time, she will come looking for us.” Climbing off of me, leaving me a panting mess.

His plan had worked, I was all riled up. I would be frustrated all night now.

Dinner couldn’t be over quick enough.

Sitting on the edge of the bed as I watched him get dressed. Pulling on a dark navy t-shirt, then slipping the gun into its holster. We were on only going to a family dinner, yet he still carried it with him. I got the feeling he didn’t go anywhere without it.

Sliding his leather cut on, he held his hand out to me.

“Come on baby. Let’s get this dinner over with so I can bury myself deep inside of you.” That sounded like heaven right now.

I went to him without hesitation. Knowing the sooner we left, the sooner we could come home. Then, we would be able to ease all these…frustrations.

  Chapter Twenty-Two

Walking up the path that led to Winnie’s home. Hand in hand with Talon. When we reached the front door, I went to knock but Talon stopped me.

“Don’t even think about it, she will be pissed if you knock.” Would she? I felt like I should. Talon just opened the door and ushered me inside.

“Hazel and Talon are here mum.” Cole called out as he appeared in front of us, dragging me into a hug.

“I was just about to send out a search party.” Winnie was suddenly behind Cole. Moving past him so she could hug me next.

“I said we were coming mum.” Pursing her lips at him. She knew what he was like, well aware that he would be looking for a way to get out of coming tonight.

“And I know that you would try just about anything to get out of this.” I was doing my best to bite back the smirk that wanted to creep onto my face. She wasn’t wrong.

“What you got there, bro?” Cole already eyeing up the boxes in Talon’s hands.

“Hazel did some baking.” Winnie’s eyes went wide as she tucked some of my hair over my shoulder.

“Oh, you shouldn’t have Hazel.” Taking a little peek in the boxes, she smiled softly.

“Are these the cupcakes I’ve been hearing so much about? Oh a pie?” I nodded.

“The very ones. I didn’t want to turn up empty handed. I thought I’d bring a lemon meringue pie as well.” She gave Talon a stern look now.

“Do not let this one go.” Smirking down at me with those kissable lips of his.

“I don’t plan on it.” Good because I don’t plan on going anywhere. My place was beside him.

“Come on, in you come. Hazel you can come help me in the kitchen. Give us some time to chat without the men earwigging.” Linking her arm through mine, she led me away from Talon. Judging from the look on Talon’s face, he was nervous what Winnie was going to say to me. I think I might need a drink for this interrogation.

While me and Winnie were in the kitchen, the others were in the living room. I could hear them chatting away, still able to see them from my spot in here. The two rooms were separated by an open plan dining room. It was so open and light in here, it was lovely.

Perched on a stool at the island, it was just like the one in Talon’s kitchen. The one I had fantasied about quite often. A recurring dream that made me ache for my man. I couldn’t help but think about him spreading me out on said island and devouring me like I would be his last meal.

“You ok Hazel?” Winnie was looking at me with curiosity. Wondering what the hell was going on in my head. Nope, that was not something I was about to discuss with her. Not when it involved her son doing very explicit things to me.

“I’m fine, just a little hot.” She gave me a knowing look. Oh shit.

“Wine or beer?” Needing alcohol to get through this.

“Wine please.” She poured me a glass, then topped her own glass up.

“So, how can I help?” Waving me off as she carried on cooking.

“You will be doing nothing. It was just an excuse to get you alone so that I could chat with you without them brutes listening in.” Just as I suspected.

“Is my boy looking after Hazel?” Glancing over her shoulder at me, awaiting my answer.

“Yes, he is.” His taking very good care of me.

“His not leaving you unsatisfied in any way, is he?” Choking on my wine then. Not expecting her to come out and actually ask me that. Talon looked my way, arching an eyebrow at me. Intrigued by what we were talking about, since it nearly made me choke to death on my wine.

“Hazel? Do I need to arrange some lessons for my son?” Shaking my head at her as I regained myself.

  “No, trust me, he do
esn’t need any help in that department.” Talon was a sex god. One who had been blessed in every single way. He needed no pointers. He already blew my mind, each and every time.

“You just let me know ok.” Taking a large sip of my wine, considering necking the rest of it. Not nearly tipsy enough for this line of questioning. Maybe I should just get a bottle and a straw? Yeah, that might work.

“Is it just the four of us for dinner tonight?” Quick change of subject. Anything to get off of mine and Talon’s sex life. It was not something I wanted to discuss with his mother.

“No, Gunner is meant to be joining us as well. His always been like one of my boys, spent most of his childhood here so, I see him as one of my own.”

“Really?” I knew him, Talon and Cole were close. Wondering why he spent so much time here rather than with his own family. Were they not nice people? Maybe it wasn’t a good environment for a child to be in.

“You see, Gunner’s mother passed away when he was young, and his dad was a waste of space. Preferred to drink his life away rather than take care of his boy. I would get my husband to go pick Gunner up and bring him back here. He would spend the days playing with Talon and Cole. I made sure he was well fed and had some fresh clothes on. The amount of night’s he slept over, he might as well of lived here. Sometimes, it felt like he did. Gunner became my third son.” I felt for Gunner. A new sense of understanding for what he’s been through. I know all too well what it was like to have a parent pass away. Only to be left with one who checked out on you. It wasn’t easy. I’m just glad he had Winnie and this family to take care of him.

“He was a good boy. Unlike Talon who was the troublemaker of the group.” Now I was intrigued.

“The troublemaker?” She nodded, coming over to me, taking a well-deserved sip of her wine.

“Oh yeah, he was always in fights. He got that from his father.” I could see that. Talon wasn’t afraid to fight. He was ferocious, formidable. Like a raging storm ready to destroy everything in its path. It was beautiful to watch. You didn’t want to be on the receiving end though. He would show no mercy.

“And he was always a hit with the ladies.” Pausing when she realised, she might have touched on a subject I wouldn’t be keen to delve in to. “You probably don’t want to hear about that.”

She was right, I didn’t want to hear about it. Don’t get me wrong, I knew he was experienced but I didn’t want to hear all the gory details.

“I know he has a past.” He was a hot-blooded male, one who screamed carnal pleasures. Women were all too eager to share a bed with him. Didn’t mean I wanted to hear all about it though.

“They are the Kings of Chaos. Women fall at their feet, more than ready to please them in any way they can. Of course, they are going to enjoy the benefits of being Kings among men. None of that matters now. Not for Talon, he has you. His not even noticed another woman, let alone entertained their advances. Not since he met you. No other could ever capture his attention the way his Queen does.” But surely, he still notices other women?

“Why? You know, see anyone after meeting me for the first time? He didn’t even know me, not at that point.” Smiling at my questions.

“In this lifestyle that they live, they don’t mess around when it comes to their old lady. The second they meet their Queen, they know within an instant, and from that moment, she’s all that matters. No other woman can compete with her. So, when my boy found you, no one was ever going to gain his attention again.” So, from that first night, he knew? That’s crazy. Yet, I remember what it was like to make eye contact with him. To see him for the first time. It was like the world shifted beneath our feet, leaving me unsteady, unsure what I was even feeling. I just knew he was life changing. That I would never be the same if I let him in.

To think from that night, I was his and he was mine. Our fates sealed without us even realising.

“I didn’t think he would be interested in someone like me.” It still shocked me that he could want someone so reserved.

“Someone like you?” Uncertain what I meant.

“Plain and boring.” Her hands rested on her hips now as she pursed her lips at me. Not impressed with me at all. Shit, I felt like a little kid who was about to get scolded by their mum. Not that I ever experienced this, but I imagine this is what it would be like if you had a mother who cared.

“You listen to me Hazel. I don’t want to hear any more of that talk. You’re beautiful and I won’t hear you try to deny it.” Eyes wide as she told me off for badmouthing myself.

The front door opened then, saving me.

“Just me and Trigger.” Gunner’s voice echoed from the hallway.

Winnie stilled as they walked into the kitchen. Her and Trigger locked eyes. Something passed between them. It was there for a split second, then it was gone.

Holy shit, was something going on between them? Were they seeing each other? If so, is that what tonight was about? Were they planning on sharing that with the guys? Oh fuck, I hope I was wrong. I already knew how Talon and the others would react.

I was praying that this went well.

“Gunner. Trigger.” Winnie regained herself, trying to act like she wasn’t affected by his presence. I don’t know how no one else was picking up on this.

“Hey sweetheart.” Gunner came over to me, feeling brave apparently. When Talon and Cole stepped into the room, he immediately locked onto Gunner. Giving him daggers when he saw how close he was to me.

  There’s my territorial King.

“Trigger what you doing here?” Cole was staring at Trigger now. He suddenly looked panicked, like he hadn’t thought through what he was going to say. Gazing at Winnie, looking for some support.

“I invited him. Problem?” Scowling at Cole, it was enough to have him holding his hands up in surrender. Not wanting to piss off his own mother.

“No problem, just curious. Thought it was a family dinner.” I could see the steam pouring out of Winnie’s ears now. He may not have wanted to anger her, but he failed, miserably.

“Trigger is a part of our family. All of the Kings are or have you forgotten that.” I just sat there, drinking my wine. Staying well out of this.

“Its fine mum, Trigger is more than welcome. You know that brother.” Talon clapped Trigger on the back as he moved passed him.

  My sweet man.

Coming to stand behind me now. Wrapping his arm around me, pressing me against his body, keeping me close. I knew what he was doing, making a point to Gunner that I was his and only his.

Gunner just rolled his eyes at Talon.

“Getting all territorial aren’t you brother.” Talon leaned down, kissing my cheek.

“Have to when you’re around motherfucker.” Talon had nothing to worry about, he was the only one I craved.

“You want to fight it out?” Gunner wasn’t serious…right? Cole burst into fits of laughter.

“You know you don’t stand a chance against him you idiot.” Gunner shrugged.

“Might be my lucky night.” He didn’t stand a chance against Talon. I don’t think anyone did. He was a fearsome powerhouse, one who could obliterate any enemy in his path without even breaking a sweat.

“Enough boys. Go set the table, I’m going to start dishing up.” Instinctively listening to Winnie, Cole and Gunner did as they were told, heading for the dining room. Talon stayed with me. His arm still draped around me; I don’t think he wanted to let me go anytime soon.

I could see how nervous Trigger was. It was written all over his face. He was doing an awful job at hiding it. Did Talon see it as well? Or was it just me?

“You ok Trigger?” Smiling at me, trying to pretend everything was fine and normal. I wasn’t convinced, not one bit.

“I’m good. You been keeping out of trouble for the last hour?” Taking a peek at Talon, I saw him grinning like a damn Cheshire cat.

“Of course.” Sipping my wine, trying to appear innocent. He just scoffed at us.

  “I
know that look on his face and on yours. Guilty as they come.” The memory of Talon pinning me to the bed, stirred in my mind. Making me blush just thinking about it. The way he drove me crazy, knowing I would be left frustrated during this entire dinner.

“Nothing to be guilty about, can’t keep my hands off her. You’re lucky we are here at all. If I had my way, we wouldn’t be.” Talon brushed my hair to one side so he could nuzzle into my neck. Of course, he didn’t care if they knew what we had been up to. Unashamed of his desire for me. It made my heart swell and my core pulse for him.

“Right, come on everybody, dinners ready.” Winnie started taking plates through to the table. Talon guided me over there so we could take our seats. Cole and Gunner were already sitting down, eager to eat apparently. Trigger brought bottles of beer in for the guys just as Winnie brought the last plates in.

“Oh, could you grab that bottle of wine Trigger, sweetie.” Winnie paused then, scanning the room quickly. Wondering if anyone noticed. By the look of it, no one had.

Winnie sat at the head of the table, nearest me. Talon of course stayed at me side. I noticed Gunner had managed to sit opposite me. Much to Talon’s annoyance.

This felt nice. Trigger down the other end of the table, facing Winnie. It felt like a proper family dinner. I just hope that the shit didn’t hit the fan.

“This looks amazing Winnie.” Topping up my empty wine glass once more.

“Well, bon Appetit.” Giving us the signal to dig in. As I thought, it was delicious. She was an incredible cook.

“Mum, this is so good.” Cole mumbled in between mouthfuls. I don’t even know if he was chewing his food, it looked like he was just shovelling it in.

“I could teach you. It would make a young lady very happy one day…when you find her of course.” I guess this was a regular topic from the way he rolled his eyes at her, like he had heard this a thousand times already.

  “I’m good.” Huffing in disappointment.

“Women love a man that can cook, right Hazel?” I was mid mouthful, feeling her look my way. Talon’s hand snuck beneath the table and grabbed my thigh.
