My back arches as I throw my head back, my legs wrapping around the backs of his thighs. “Yes,” I hiss.
“Tullie,” he groans as his fingers tighten around my waist, digging into my flesh and no doubt marking me.
Louis fucks me. This isn’t making love, this isn’t anything sweet, except it is just that, sweet—so damn sweet. Closing my eyes, my back stays arched as he takes me, consumes me in every way possible.
One of his hands glides up the center of my chest, between my breasts and then his fingers wrap around the front of my throat. He doesn’t squeeze, he just holds me, as his hips continue to slam against mine.
My legs tighten as I dig my heels into the backs of his thighs. His hips swivel with each of his downstrokes and I swear I’m on the edge, about to explode and if he doesn’t take me over the edge, I’m going to scream.
“Please,” I beg as he continues to fuck me, but keeps me right on the edge without taking me home. “I need more.”
Louis shakes his head, sweat beading on his forehead, his chin dipped down as he watches me. His eyes are on mine, his lips pressed together and he continues his torture. Lifting my hands, I wrap my fingers around his forearms and I sink my nails into his flesh.
He groans as he begins to pound harder into me. “You’re going to ache for me until you get to Vegas,” he murmurs almost as if he’s talking to himself. “Every fucking part of you, Tullie.”
With my eyes closed, I shake my head from side to side as I let out a whimper. I’m about to lose my damn mind if he doesn’t do something. I’m about to take care of things myself, because I can’t go on another minute this way.
Louis lets out a chuckle, no doubt laughing at the sight of me. I don’t give a shit, either. He can laugh himself silly, but if he doesn’t do something soon, I’m going to lose my mind.
“Fuck, baby, but you’re a goddamn sight to behold,” he rasps as his hand glides from my throat, down the center of my chest, and finally between my legs. I swear that I see fireworks as soon as his thumb presses against my clit.
My eyes open at the same time that my mouth does and a gasp escapes my lips as I come. Louis leans down a little more and his lips touch mine as he continues to slam his hips against mine. I swallow his breaths as he pants, my hands slip up his arms and wrap around him before my nails drag down his back.
When he buries himself deep inside of me, I watch him jerk his head back before he buries it in my neck and then I hear him groan at the same time he fills me with his release. Our breathing is labored and we stay there until it evens out.
He lifts his head, his eyes looking down into mine and he smiles. It’s a soft smile, his eyes searching my own. “Love you, Tullie baby,” he rasps. “I already miss you.”
My lips twitch into my own smile. “I already miss you, too,” I sigh as I clench around his softening length. He groans before he shifts from me, and I can’t help but whimper when I lose him from inside of me.
“I do not want to leave you right now,” he announces, standing at the side of the bed, his eyes on me, flicking from between my legs to my face.
Sinking my teeth into my bottom lip, I slowly close my legs and watch as he shakes his head. “Covering up such a pretty sight,” he says.
“Pretty?” I ask, wrinkling my nose.
Louis nods his head as he gathers his clothes from the floor and tosses them on the bed before he reaches for his underwear and pulls them on. “Yeah, pretty. Your pussy, swollen and full of my cum, fuckin’ beautiful, baby.”
“You make it sound so dirty.” I laugh.
Something flashes in his eyes, his hand slips between my legs and forces my legs apart slightly. Without a word, two fingers fill me, and I gasp at the sensation. Louis’ gaze is focused on mine, it’s fierce and serious.
My smile dies as soon as his fingers begin to pump in and out of my wet, sticky center. “Nothing about this is dirty, Tulip. My cum inside of you is fucking gorgeous. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen, ever felt.”
Pressing my lips together, I inhale through my nostrils as he continues. “When I win that fight, I’m going to fill you up, Tulip. You’re going to be so goddamn full of my cum, you’ll be dripping. We’re going to celebrate and I’m going to paint your beautiful body, baby.”
The description of what he wants, it should turn me off, but it doesn’t. Instead, I’m so turned on that I want him to do that to me right now. I want a taste of what that could be. His fingers are still working between my legs with each word that he says and I want it, I want it all.
Louis’ thumb presses against my clit, rolling, as I lift my hips. My lips part and I let out a sigh as he brings me closer toward another orgasm. I’m so sensitive, tender, almost sore, but that’s what he wants and he’s going to give it to me. I don’t mind, not in the slightest, not since it feels so damn good.
“Yes,” I hiss. “God, yes.”
My orgasm washes over me. It comes in a rush that I don’t expect. My entire body tenses, but Louis doesn’t stop. He continues to slowly pump his fingers in and out of me.
Until there’s a knock on the door.
Then he freezes and I watch as his head whips around to look back over his shoulder. He doesn’t say anything, but Aaron’s voice floats through the door.
“Car’s here for the airport,” he calls.
“Be down in a second,” Louis barks.
His head swings back to me and his lips twitch into a small smile. “Gonna miss you, Tullie baby,” he murmurs, dipping his chin to touch his mouth to mine. His tongue slides out and tastes my lips. “Be good, be safe, be healthy and I’ll see you in a few days,” he rasps against my mouth as his fingers slip from between my legs. I watch as he quickly dresses, then as he makes his way to the door, only then do I whisper.
“I will, Louie, I promise.”
Chapter Thirty-One
TULIP
“Do you want to keep everything?” Hutton asks, picking up a ratty pair of sweats that had seen better days about a decade ago.
Smiling, I shake my head. “I just threw everything in here, I should have gone through it all when I packed it up,” I mutter.
Channing giggles from her place on the bed. Her feet are propped up, a small plate rests on her belly as she watches us, and I can’t deny that she’s simply gorgeous.
Reese is with Rylan for the afternoon since it’s a gloomy rainy day outside and he’s not working, and they all came over to help me unpack.
I have a feeling they’re more here to see how I’m doing since Channing and I talked. I have to admit that I needed her to shake me up a little, to wake me up. I was drowning, I’m still drowning, but the world seems less black and more of a light gray these days.
“Do you know what you’re going to wear to the fight?” Channing asks.
Pressing my lips together, I roll them and shrug a shoulder. “Jeans and a t-shirt. I mean does it matter?”
Hutton and Channing both stare at me like deer caught in headlights. Hutton slowly shakes her head. “No, I’m sorry but no, Tulip.”
“What do you mean? It’s going to be a fight, with blood and punching. Who cares what I’m wearing?”
Channing presses her lips together, but I can tell that she’s trying to hold back a laugh. Her eyes are glittering as she watches me. Obviously, the fact that I want to wear jeans and a t-shirt to a boxing match is hilarious and I don’t understand why.
“This isn’t just a fight, like going out to Austin with some friends and rolling up to the HEB Center. This is televised, in Las Vegas. The cheapest tickets are like three hundred dollars. But you’ll be sitting with all of the celebrities, tickets that regular people can’t even buy. You need to at least wear some kind of dress, diamonds, and furs if you have them.”
I burst out laughing just at the thought of owning diamonds and furs. Channing starts to laugh too, then Hutton joins in. “Okay, maybe diamonds and furs are a bit much,” she says between her giggles.

You think?” I ask.
Channing shakes her head. “But you do need a dress, a little black one, and high heels. Classic, not super flashy, but still sexy.”
“I don’t own anything like that, I’ve never had a need to before,” I murmur.
“Me either,” Hutton admits. “I’m a jeans and t-shirt girl myself. Beau has bought me a few things for awards shows, but that’s too much for this. I mean I’m sure some people would be wearing them, but I doubt you’d be comfortable.”
I let out a snort. “No, I wouldn’t be,” I admit. “I don’t really have time to shop either.”
Hutton’s lips turn up into a wicked smile. “I have the key to Laurie’s. She has something, I know because she’s always trying to make me wear her dresses. Why don’t you meet me over at her place tomorrow evening and we’ll get you all set up?”
“Won’t she be upset, she’s not home, is she?”
Hutton shakes her head. “She won’t care, but I’ll text her anyway just to make sure. Tomorrow at five? We’ll go to dinner after.”
I can’t believe that this is my life. That I have actual girlfriends, friends that care about me and want to help me. I’ve spent so much of my life with Joey that friends weren’t really a priority.
Working is everything that I’ve known. A pang of guilt tugs at me. Charlie. I need to call her, because she’s my friend too and I haven’t heard from her in a while.
“I can do that.” I nod. “I have a meeting in the early afternoon, then I can just meet you there,” I explain.
“A meeting with the school?” Hutton guesses.
My cheeks heat at her question. I don’t know why I’m embarrassed. Maybe because I’m twenty-five and have only ever worked at a grocery store and a strip club. Maybe because Hutton is so accomplished.
“Yeah,” I breathe.
“You’ll be great, Tulip. Honestly, Laurie is desperate for the help. I’ve been coming in and helping, but I don’t really work there anymore, she’s in charge. She also doesn’t want just anyone renting a booth, so it worked out perfectly.”
Nodding my head, I sink my teeth into my bottom lip and start to busy myself, putting my clothes away again. My mind is filled with doubt, tons of self-doubt and my nerves are completely shot just thinking about this meeting.
Thankfully, the conversation is dropped and Hutton starts talking about Laurie and how things are progressing with her and Jesse. Which to me sounds a bit iffy. I hope that everything works out for the best, but it kind of sounds like Laurie may have pushed him too far.
Between me and Hutton, we make quick work of my clothes and I have yet another pile to be donated. Channing instructs me to put it in her car and offers up Rylan’s services to donate it on his way home from work tomorrow.
Thanking them, I give them both a huge hug and promise Hutton that I’ll meet with her tomorrow at Laurie’s right at five o’clock. Standing at the front door of the house, I wave to them as they climb into Channing’s car.
Since Hutton and Beaumont’s place isn’t far from Louis’, Channing picked her up on the way. They both give me a small wave and once the car has pulled far enough down the road that I can’t see the taillights anymore, I close and lock the front door.
Turning around, I press my back to the door and close my eyes with a deep inhale. I’m alone. Really alone, and I promised Louis that I would be okay. It’s only a few days. My flight is booked to see him for the fight and I have a ride to the airport.
I can do this. I will do this and I’ll show Louis that I’m capable. I’m stronger than Silas’ abuse. I’m stronger than any of it.
Opening my eyes, I nod and head into the kitchen to make myself something for dinner, but not before I turn on the television for background noise, because while I feel like I can do this, I know that I won’t be able to do it in silence.
LOUIS
Looking around my Vegas condo, I frown. It should feel like being home, like coming home, but it doesn’t. Not only is Tullie not here, but everything is wrong.
The city is loud, there’s too much concrete and there isn’t any open space to just run. Being here, in this moment, it solidifies my plan to sell the place.
Picking up my phone, I call my realtor. She assures me that she has had a few bites, but that it will take a little longer because of the price point. I thank her for her work and then walk over to the windows that look out over the Strip.
Cars and people are everywhere and it’s everything that Gallup isn’t. Shaking my head once, I look down at my phone and smile. There’s a picture of Tulip on my lock screen. She’s smiling at me, lying on her side.
It’s not pictured, but I know that she was completely naked when I snapped it. I’d just made her come a second time. She looked so gorgeous that I needed to remember the moment forever.
Licking my lips, I find her name in my phone. My thumb hovers over it, but I decide to wait until later tonight to check up on her.
There’s a knock on the door, and I curse, knowing exactly who it is. There are only a few people who know I’m in town.
My publicist and agent are busy setting shit up for this week and fine-tuning details. Aaron is settling into his own place today, along with Shawn. We have an early morning session planned already.
The only other person that it could be is my mother. We didn’t really leave things on the best of terms the last time that she called me. She was sad and I probably wasn’t compassionate enough. With a big inhale, I turn toward the door and tug it open without even looking through the peephole.
Tipping my chin down, I smile at the sight of my mom standing in front of me. She looks tired, her body a bit thinner than the last time that I saw her. Her hair is curled to perfection and I know that she must have just come from the beauty shop.
“Mama,” I murmur, stepping to the side to allow her in.
She takes a couple steps inside, then lifts her gaze to meet mine. “I won’t be moving to Texas with you. Irving and I are back together,” she announces.
I should have called her more. I should have moved her out immediately when she said she would come. I fucking hate that my stepfather has weaseled his way back to her and I hate even more that she’s allowed it.
“I thought that he was gone for good?” I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
My mother shrugs and lifts her eyes to stare over my shoulder. She doesn’t want to look me in the eye. She knows that she’s wrong, that she shouldn’t take him back, but she’s doing it anyway, all so that she doesn’t feel alone. She doesn’t realize that she could find real true happiness if she wasn’t so goddamn scared.
“What?” she asks. “Why aren’t you talking?”
Shaking my head, I sigh as I turn my head to the side. Pressing my lips together, I shift my gaze back to her. “I just want you happy, Mama. If he’s what truly makes you happy, this is your life, not mine.”
“I don’t know if I’m happy, but this is where I belong, Louis. One day you’ll understand that. Marriages aren’t easy, you have to work at them.”
“Working on a marriage isn’t the same as being sucked completely dry, mind, body, money, and soul by someone.”
My mama nods her head once, she knows that Irving is a dick. She knows that he uses her, she knows that if he was a good man, she wouldn’t be working her fingers to the bone while he sits around on his fat ass, cheats on her, and treats her like shit.
“I met someone. I’m going to propose after this fight. If you want to meet her, she’ll be in town the day of the fight and then a few days afterward,” I say, changing the subject.
Irving is a subject that is never changing it seems. I don’t want to see him or talk about him. I don’t want to think about the fact that I fell in love with a woman who has lived a very similar life to my mother’s. Except my mama had my father in the first part of her life and Irving in the second.
Tulip had her Irving already in Joey and she’ll never have a lazy piece of shit again, becau
se she’s only going to have me and I’ll work my entire life to make sure that she doesn’t regret being my woman.
“Is she… what kind of girl is she?”
My lips twitch. I know my mom, she’s always wanted me with a good girl, a girl who would take care of me and who wasn’t in the public eye the way that I am. She wanted someone down to earth, sweet.
“You’ll like her.” I nod.
“I just want you happy,” she says.
I grunt. “Yeah, that’s all I want for you too, Mama.”
My mom nods, then without a word, she closes the distance between us and wraps her arms around me. I hug her back, pulling her against my body and just hold her. I love my mom. Her decision making when it comes to men is awful, maybe because she’s still in love with my father, I’m not sure, but I wish that she would love herself more. I can’t make her do that though. I fucking wish that I could.
“We won’t go to the fight, but maybe brunch the next day?”
“Dinner and you got a deal.” I smirk, knowing without a doubt that I’ll be celebrating my win into the early morning hours and I won’t want to move from my bed until at least dinner.
“The normal place?” she asks.
The normal place.
I almost snort at her question. It’s where Irving likes to go because he knows that I’ll pay. He orders his two-hundred-dollar Tomahawk ribeye steak along with several sides, salad, cocktails, and dessert, all on my tab.
“I’ll make the reservation tonight,” I grumble.
My mom lifts my hand and cups my cheek. “I can’t wait to meet her. I know that she must be really special if you’re this serious.”
“She is,” I agree.
Her hand falls and I watch as she turns around and walks out of my front door. I hate how things have gone. That she’s going back to Irving. I hate that she’s not doing what I know could make her happy, in favor of not being alone.
