With a moan, he pulled her tightly to him and then lifted her into his arms and walked her back to their massive bedroom overlooking the water. She gasped when she saw a thin layer of red rose petals laid out over the bed. He lowered her onto it and peeled her clothes from her, touching her and running his hand over her skin appreciatively.

"You are so beautiful," he told her. "Your skin shines like dark satin. I love it. I can't get enough of it,” he said quietly as he looked into her eyes. He pulled the last of the clothing from them and laid her back against the cool flower petals, kissing her hungrily as his hands fondled her body and made her moan with need and hunger for him.

In moments, he had her thighs spread open and he pushed himself inside of her, moving slowly as he took his time with her, pleasing her and enjoying every moment of it.

He rolled over and pulled her on top of him, his hands canvassing her breasts as she rode him, sending him all the way into the depths of her, her body moving against his until they both came and held each other close in the sweet moments of ecstasy afterward.

"I love you,” she said softly, looking up at him and not knowing why she told him. Her heart had gone so far over the edge with him that there was no turning back, and no good reason not to share her feelings for him.

He stared at her with a surprised expression, silent, his eyes taking her in. She leaned up and pressed her lips to his softly, moving her mouth over his and touching her fingertips to his cheek.

She wanted to tell him again. "I love you." She whispered against his lips, and again he just watched her, his hands still on her body as she began to move over him, kissing him and licking at his body, turning him back on again.

As the minutes passed and she made her way over all of him with her tongue and her lips, repeating it over and over to him, telling him that she loved him. He watched her, until she slid his erection down her throat and he closed his eyes and let his head fall back into the pillows. Moments later, she was riding him again, hard and wild and his hands gripped her tightly as he helped move her body over his hips.

When she came again, and then he followed her in his own orgasm, she fell onto him and kissed him deeply once more. "I love you,” she said, and he rolled her off of him, kissed her, and went to shower.

It was in the moment that he left her, that she realized that she had just taken things too far. He hadn't said it back. He had been kind, and he had loved her just as passionately as he always did, but he did not say it back. He walked back into the room after his shower and reached into his pants pocket, pulling out a stack of bills, he laid in on the nightstand beside her, and then pulled his clothes on and walked out of the room.

She saw him through the window a while later, walking alone on the beach, and she watched him, and then looked back at the cash on the nightstand.

She was paid pleasure. That's all she was. There was not supposed to be any emotion between them. Nothing but pleasure, fun, and laughter. No real emotion, no depth of feeling. No love. Just sex and a good time.

Brandy felt down about it the rest of the day, but later that night when she had on her slinky little dress and they were out dancing, he could not keep his hands off her. So many times, she felt his fingers in between her thighs or through the low cut sides of her dress as he touched and played with her nipples, just for the briefest moments when no one was looking.

Three times that night while they were out, he found a dark corner and pulled her into it, entering her from behind her as they secretly joined their bodies just out of sight of others passing them by.

He made her breakfast and brought it to her in bed on Sunday morning. He kissed her and let her eat before he moved the trays and laid her back on the bed, thrusting himself into her anxiously, moving swift and hard in her and clenching his hands firmly on her body until they both came and he was weak with release.

That afternoon, they headed back to his jet and she looked out of the window of the car with an unreadable expression.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked curiously, watching her. "Did you have a nice weekend?"

She turned to him, smiling and nodding. "I did have a nice weekend. It was one of the best I've ever had, just like you said. I loved it. Thank you so much,” she answered him. He pulled up to the plane and got out of the car, walking to her and taking her in his arms, his hand holding her close.

"I had a great weekend, too. Thank you so much,” he told her, kissing her gently.

"I love you." She looked up at him and he nodded a little, and then turned and walked up into the airplane.

When they got back to New York, he was in the car with her looking more and more miserable.

"I don't want to take you back, but magic moments have an end." His frown turned into a light smile. "Still, it was one of the best weekends ever.”

She felt his sorrow and moved to him, sliding her legs over his lap, facing him as she leaned down to kiss him. "It's not over yet," she whispered as she lowered her hand to his crotch and pulled his pants open, stroking him until he was hard and panting, and then she slid him into her and rode him hard until they both came.

She kissed him just as hard, and when it was done, she looked in his eyes and said once more, "I love you." Then she moved off him, and he watched her. The car pulled up to her home and he kissed her before she left, thanking her for the hot weekend, and then she was gone.

He got back into the car and wondered as he was whisked home, how he was going to deal with her. She had told him countless times that she loved him. He had hired her to be his lover, not to fall in love with him. He was certain that this might lead to problems he had not counted on, and problems that he didn't need.

When he got home, Veronica wasn't there, and he went straight to his room and to bed, exhausted and happy, and a little concerned for the development between him and Brandy.

The next day at his office, he was sitting at his desk working when his secretary buzzed him, telling him he had a guest. He hadn't been expecting anyone, so he was surprised by it.

The door opened and Candice walked in wearing a trench coat that was buttoned up. He looked at her in surprise.

"Candice, what are you doing here? I didn't expect to see you on the island this weekend, but this is a big surprise. Is there something I can do for you?" he asked in confusion.

Candice wasn't one of his friends. He knew her because she was a friend of Veronica's, but the two of them had only ever had casual conversations at social events, and neither one of them had ever really gotten to know one another.

She smiled widely at him and walked around his desk to the side of his chair, leaning on his desk and looking down at him.

"You know, it was so good to see you on the island this last weekend, that I thought to myself, we don't see each other often enough." She ran a hand through her dark shiny hair and laid it back over her shoulder.

"I don't think this is a good time to get to know each other. Perhaps you could arrange a visit with Veronica and then you two can let me know when we'll meet,” he said, leaning back in his chair and giving her a serious look.

She laughed at him and reached out to place her hand on his cheek and hold it there, her fingers stroking his chiseled jaw and chin. "Oh, I don't want to see Veronica about this. You see, I thought you two were exclusive, but this weekend when I saw you with your... friend.... I realized that you like to play the field too, and it inspired me to change our acquaintance." She began to unbutton her trench coat, revealing red lingerie beneath it and a scantily covered body.

Kyle gasped at her and stared, shocked. "What are you doing?”

She grinned at him. "Oh, Kyle... sexy, sweet, Kyle. God, you're a beautiful hunk of a man. I have had my eyes on you for so long, and now I want you to play with me... I want you to have some fun with me," she said, opening her coat fully and leaning toward him, pushing her silicone filled breasts toward his face.

"Or I will just have to visit Veronica and tell her a
ll about the time I saw you on the island with your little girlfriend, making out with her at an ice cream parlor."

Kyle's heart began to pound in his chest. It hadn't occurred to him that he might be caught away from his home. He had only focused on keeping it away from his wife, not from everyone they knew.

"What?!" he asked in shock. "I can't... I don't want to... I'm not going to sleep with you!" He began to grow irritated.

She smiled. "Oh now, Kyle, think carefully about this. You could have a good time with me, and everything stays quiet and simple.” She moved closer to him and kissed his cheek "Or you could tell me no, and then I'd have to go see Veronica and tell her everything... I... know... So come on, Kyle. Let's have a good time. I've had my eye on you for a long time. Let's have some fun."

She slid her arms around his neck and kissed his mouth, and he pushed her away from him. "Stop!" he insisted, standing up and walking over to his office door.

"Get your coat on and get the hell out of here,” he said shortly, opening the door and glaring at her.

She sashayed over to him and smiled at him, running her hand over his crotch and stroking it firmly as she said, "I'll hold off for a little while, but don't make me wait long, or my next call will be to Veronica." She slid a piece of paper into his hand and winked at him.

"Either you call me, or I call her. Give it some thought. I'll give you a week." She gave him a sly smile as she walked out of the door.

He closed the door and stood there in amazement, wondering how in the world it had come to that. One of his wife's friends trying to seduce him in his own office and threatening to tell his wife about the affair he was having with another woman if he didn't have one with her. Obviously, something had gone very wrong somewhere. He went back to his desk and sat there in irritation the rest of the day, trying to focus on work, and trying not to think about Candice or what had happened with Brandy over the weekend when she began declaring her love for him.

He had no idea what he was going to do with that. He was beginning to feel strongly for her, but he wasn't going to let himself fall in love with her; he was married and life was set. It was already going in the direction that it was supposed to go.

Things weren't going to change for him, and falling in love was the last thing he needed to worry about or do. It just wasn't going to happen, no matter how much he liked Brandy or wanted her constantly, there was just no way he was going to fall in love with her.

  Chapter6

In the days that followed their weekend together, Brandy heard less often from Kyle and she knew that their relationship had taken a turn. She knew that it was because she had confessed her love for him, and the strain between them was beginning to wear her down.

He wanted her body just as much as he ever did, if not more, and their intimacy was powerful and satisfying. But her heart had begun to ache for him, and he had made no change in the way that he treated her or what he said to her, and every time he paid her for every single time they had sex, he made a point of making the money obvious rather than subtle.

Brandy sat at the table miserably and didn't notice as Alice came up to her.

"Table for one, or can I sit here with you?" She smiled warmly, getting Brandy's attention.

Brandy smiled then, and stood up to greet her friend.

"Hey there, I was just waiting for you," she said quietly.

Alice raised one eyebrow. "You were waiting for me with that kind of an expression on your face? Am I in trouble or something,” she asked with the hint of worry.

Brandy laughed and shook her head. "No, you aren't in trouble. Sit down."

They sat together and Alice took a long sip of her coffee and then set it down and looked at her friend with concern.

"So, what is this look for if it's not for me? What's bugging you, baby?"

Brandy sighed heavily and raised her eyes to Alice. "I screwed up,” she said sorrowfully.

Alice tilted her head. "What'd you do?"

Brandy sighed. "I fell in love with him. I said I wouldn't, but I did, and now here I am in love with a married man."

Alice sat quietly for a moment and then leaned forward, laying her arms on the table and lowering her voice. "Does he love you back?" she asked, her eyes steady on Brandy.

"No. No, he does not." She breathed sadly. "We went away for the weekend. He flew me on his private plane to some island and we got this house and it was perfect... and then I just slipped and told him that I love him. I don't even know where it came from; it just... came out... and then it was all I could say to him after that. Tell him I love him, and then tell him again. I feel so stupid. He has a wife, he has a life all settled, and he just wanted to hire me to sleep with him. I'm no one to him; I'm just there for him to have fun. That's all." She spoke dejectedly as she lifted her coffee cup and took a drink from it.

Alice nodded and frowned. "He didn't say it back to you? Not even once?" She was trying to assess what she was hearing.

  "Not once," Brandy answered sadly.

Alice shook her head. "Yep. You screwed up. He took you out of town for a weekend and when you told him that you loved him, he didn't say it back to you at all. If there was ever going to be a time when he declared himself to you, that was it. When men take women out of town for secret rendezvous weekends, they admit their love. He didn't, and that means that he was just there to have a good time with you."

Alice leaned further toward Brandy. "I want you to really think hard about this, Brandy, because I'm going to tell you something. He doesn't love you. He doesn't even really need you, he just likes having you around. If you're okay with that, then stay with him, but if you aren't okay with that, then you better realize that he's not going to leave his wife for you, he is not going to have a romantic relationship with you beyond the bedroom.

“He is not going to change what the two of you have and make your position in his life anything more than bed partner. That's all you're going to get, so if that is good enough for you, then stay with him. If it's not good enough for you, then you better get the hell out now while you can, because if you don't, your heart is going to go through the worst heartache you've ever known, and you can bet on that."

Brandy sighed and tears sprang to her eyes. "I know you're telling me the truth, Alice, but I just can't stand it!"

Alice shook her head and took her friend's hands in hers. "Listen to me, girl. He is only interested in your body, and if that works for you then keep it, but if you love him and he doesn't want your heart, then get out now because it's only going to hurt you. One of you has to put you first, and it's obvious that it isn't going to be him. He is putting himself and his wants and needs first, and that's what you have to do.

“You have to decide what's more important to you; love or money. If the money is more important, then stay. Make the money, have great sex, and don't lose your heart in the process. If love is more important than money, then you better quit now, before it's too late. Break up with him and walk away."

Brandy's eyes grew wide and she shook her head. "No! No, I couldn't do that!" she insisted.

Alice looked pointedly at her. "You two have been like rabbits. How much more money do you need?" she asked seriously.

Brandy looked at her sadly and shook her head. "I have a lot of money now. I don't need more money; I just need him," she said in a soft tone.

Alice shook her head. "Well, from what you just told me, you aren't going to get him."

Brandy sighed. "I know you're right. He isn't going to leave his wife for me, and he isn't going to change anything between us because he isn't in love with me." She shook her head. "I've gotten myself into something I never should have. There's nowhere for me to go with this but out. That's my only choice. I can't keep being with him feeling like I do; I love him and he isn't going to give me that back. He isn't going to love me. It's a one way street. I have to let him go."

A tear rolled down her cheek and she brushed it away quietly. Alice rubbed her finger
s over Brandy's hand and comforted her. "You're going to make it through this. You're going to be better off without him. You have the money you need, now focus on school and yourself and your work, and get back into the good place that you found yourself in before; except with more money. You're going to be fine, and I'm here for you, too. I'm always here for you."

Brandy nodded and moved to hug her friend. They changed the subject of their conversation and spoke at length about other things, and when their visit was over, Brandy went home.

The moment she closed the door behind her, she felt the emotion in her well up and wash over her, and she sobbed at the idea of giving Kyle up, but she knew she had to. She cried so hard that she threw up, and then she cleaned herself up and she picked up the phone and called Kyle.

He looked at the caller ID and smiled. He had been trying to give himself a little space with her lately because she had fallen in love with him and he was trying everything he could not to fall for her. He knew it was the last thing that he wanted to have happen, but he was still very glad to hear from her. Spending time away from her had only made him want her more.
