Phyx used Kiss of Death!
The asthmatic poison-type swept towards the bird-kin, grabbed either side of her face, and enveloped her lips right over her beak. The flying-type kicked and struggled, eyes eventually rolling into the back of her head and falling limp.
The Phyx pulled her lips away and dropped the bird-kin. She stepped back and re-arranged her rectangular-frame glasses before putting a strand of purple hair back behind her ear.
Fiona fainted!
Trainer Terry C. has defeated Trainer Horace B.!
The two trainers shook hands and left the ring.
“Let’s watch the matches and see if we can learn anything from these trainers. I’ll come and grab you guys when it’s our turn.”
His girlfriends and daughter nodded, spreading out across the deck.
“Yoshi.”
He turned around.
“Flick, what’s up? Look, if this is about before, I didn’t mean to imply that you guys were punching bags, I just–”
She closed the distance between them and stopped him with a kiss.
“I don’t want to watch these matches,” the water-type purred. She clasped his hand with hers and pushed her breasts into his shoulder again.
Yoshi looked into her expectant face and smiled. “Come on, follow me.” He tugged her towards the railing. The ship cut through the water several feet below while white, fluffy clouds happily floated across the sky. The spectators were too absorbed in the matches to notice Yoshi and Flick, who were standing further away from everyone else.
The wind crashed through her bubble gum-pink hair. She gazed at Yoshi, lips slightly parted. He pulled her in with one hand in the small of her back, the other hand woven into her locks at the back of her head. He kissed her deeply, breathing in her scent mingling with the warmth of her skin. He snuck a peek at her, cracking open an eyelid. Sure enough, she was glowing a shade of pink-red and pulsing ever-so gently.
He shifted slightly, sliding one of his hands up her shirt and cupping her soft breast. He flicked her nipple gently and she let out an audible moan. She’s really in the mood. The other thing Yoshi found surprising was how his own body was reacting to his girlfriend. Despite having been wrung completely dry over several days, his soldier was uncomfortable in his denim, answering the call of duty.
“Why so keen?” Yoshi grazed the back of his fingers along her cheek. She turned her head and took his middle finger into her mouth, twisting her tongue around it.
“Girls have needs too, you know,” she growled playfully.
“Fine. If we beat at least one person in the Arena, I’ll give you what you want.”
Her eyes flashed at the challenge. “Deal. Just so you know, it’s not just me. Starry wants it too.”
“Oh? What about Soph?” Just mentioning her name left a sour taste in his mouth. Still, like Starry said, he couldn’t neglect her. They still hadn’t had sex yet since she voluntarily decided to join him they day he left Topaz with Starry.
“You tell me,” Flick laughed. “She must be fine getting off on her own.” Yoshi couldn’t help but imagine his bird-kin girlfriend stripped down and sitting in a bed with her legs wide open, schlicking and flicking away. Of course, her feathers were scattered all over the sheets.
“Looking forward to it. Hopefully our room is decent.”
“I’ll see if I can get any of the others involved. Except your daughter, of course.” Flick surreptitiously ran a hand over the bulge in his pants, causing Yoshi to twitch involuntarily. She scampered away before he could snatch her back.
He leaned back on the railings, tilted his head back and closed his eyes. What would Chester be doing right now? Probably hunched over his table, poring over the paperwork and administrative mess Trev had left for him. To think that the kid in Scardino’s photo and him were one and the same. He really didn’t seem to miss his parents. Note to self: call up Mom and Dad. They should be back from their cruise by now.
There was something bugging him, something… there. Yoshi tilted his head back down and opened his eyes. Had he already been called? He squinted at the match board. He was next up, but he hadn’t been called yet. He scanned the deck, picking out his girlfriends and Ai watching battles or wandering about. He frowned. What was this feeling?
That’s when he saw it, or more so, felt it from the corner of his eye. He flicked his head to the right, pretending to brush some hair out of his face before looking back at the battles in progress in front of him. That guy… he’s watching me. Yoshi turned around and faced the water, this time looking directly at the guy.
He stood about seven or eight yards away, half a foot away from the railing. He wore a big coat, like one you would see creeps who like flashing kids in playgrounds wearing. His hands were buried in his pockets, his hair long and gray, stray strands extending down his cheeks. He shifted slightly and Yoshi saw that he had a pronounced hunchback. Despite that, he didn’t seem old. His eyes were sharp, directed shamelessly at Yoshi.
Was he a bum who managed to sneak on board the Cruisy McCruiseface? Or was he a trainer? Should I report him to Captain Maplefingers? Yoshi leaned out over the edge of the railing and looked along the side of the ship, using it as a guise to get another glance of him. Wait, where did he go?
Yoshi spun around and almost knocked Ai out.
“Whoa Daddy, careful with that elbow.”
“Sorry, Ai.” Yoshi shivered, pulling his daughter towards him. The guy had somehow passed behind him and was now making his way to the other side of the deck. “We’re getting closer to the island. You feeling cold?” He asked, eyes still fixated on the stranger.
The gym bunny shook her head, her ears flapping about. “Steel-types don’t feel the cold. Plus, I got all this fluff on me.” She smoothed the fur down on her arm. “The wind’s messing up my hair though. Can I go back inside?”
“Nope,” Yoshi said. “You haven’t even battled yet.”
“I know, but I’ve watched some. That counts for something, right?”
Yoshi grinned. “Nice try, kiddo.” Ai turned around and leaned back on the railing next to her trainer-father. Despite her being a fully-matured adult who didn’t look much younger than he was, Yoshi couldn’t help but feel like he had to cut her back down to size. “What do you think of your team?”
Ai shrugged. “Soph’s got something stuck up her ass, but everyone else is OK.”
“They’re all really nice, even Soph, once you get to know them. And considering that we’ll be battling soon, you don’t have much of a choice.”
“Misters Yoshi S. and Mortimer W., please make your way to Ground 2.”
Alright, show time! Yoshi scanned the deck again. The other four girlfriends had already started making their way to Ground 2. Mortimer… not the creep who was staring at me? Yoshi looked to the left, but the man in the large coat was nowhere to be seen.
“Come on, Ai, let’s get you some EXP.”
With the gym bunny in tow, he wove his way through the crowd, keeping an eye out for his opponent. His four girlfriends were waiting patiently in a row by the side of the ground.
“Alright everyone, back in your rings.” He held four rings up and Starry, Flick, Crystal and Arlif zipped back in.
“You’re my opponent?” Yoshi spun around. The older man with a cane who disapproved of Flick’s boobies glared with displeasure.
“Good afternoon,” Yoshi said, offering his hand. Mortimer ignored it and shuffled around along the side of the ground. Yoshi raised an eyebrow and glanced at Ai. Fine then, be that way. “May the best man win.”

Gentleman Mortimer Wants To Battle!
A crowd started to gather at Ground 2. Many of the trainers were of a similar age to Mortimer, but there were a few who looked younger. Yoshi had to double-take a few times; several of them reminded him of Spence, with their ripped physiques, immaculately coifed hair and fancy threads.
“Are you going to send out your girlfriend or not?” Mortimer
called out from the other side irritably.
“She’s already out,” Yoshi responded. But just in case you were hard of hearing… “Go, Ai!”
The steel-type gym bunny bounded into the battle ring and started bouncing between her feet. She shook her arms loose, eyeing the opposing trainer.
“Are you honestly using me to train up your weaklings?” Mortimer scoffed. He unlocked a ring from his belt. The crystal on the end of it gleamed red in the sunlight. “I’m going to make sure you regret your decision. Go, Lydia!”
Seconds later, a Lydra, the wand-wielding water/fighting-type, appeared. The only difference was that this girlfriend of Mortimer’s wore an ankle-length yellow summer dress instead of lycra like Chester’s did.
“Oh come on now. Is today’s education system so underdeveloped that you can’t even recognize a Lydra?” Yoshi ignored his banter, pulling out his GF-wiki and pointing it Ai’s foe:
Name: Lydra
Entry #: 50
Species: Water Gymnast
Type: Water/Fighting
Nature: Disciplined
Rarity: **
Training is second nature to Lydra. From synchronized swimming or diving to combat, the only competition they strive to better is themselves.
Hmmm… water wasn’t super effective against steel, but fighting was. Not that that would have had a huge impact on a foe 21 levels lower than you.
“Ai, get back!”
He unlocked two rings, placing one on his index and the other on his ring. Arlif… or Soph? Grass-types were strong against water and flying was strong against fighting. Soph was more experienced and probably could take care of the Lydra, but Arlif was keener. Plus, Yoshi hadn’t actually used her in battle either.
“Arlif, go!” Yoshi punched the air, launching his grass-type out. She appeared in a crouching state, her leafy poncho straightening out as she slowly rose.
NAME: Lifee (Arlif)
NATURE: Playful
TYPE: Grass/Poison
ACC.: NIL
LEVEL: 19
HP: 70/70
- ATTACK: 21
- DEFENCE: 17
- SPCL ATTACK: 19
- SPCL DEFENCE: 17
- SPEED: 17
MOVESET:
Nettle Sting - Type: Poison - 25/25 PP (Fires poison barbs in one direction that secrete a venom of varying efficacy. 40% chance of Poison.)
Shoulder Charge - Type: Normal - 30/30 PP (Ram foes with your shoulder)
Branch Swords - Type: Grass - 30/30 PP (Strikes up to five times with branches in each hand. Critical Hit percentage +10% for each successful strike).
“Lydia,” Mortimer said, clutching the top of his cane, “Flying Heel.” Arlif barely had a chance to get ready when the elegant water gymnast flew through the air, right leg extended.
“Arlif, watch out!”
The difference in levels was clear for all to see. The fighting-type move struck Arlif in the shoulder, driving her to the ground. Somehow, Lydia was able to land gracefully on her feet, despite wearing heels. She twisted and dug the heel into the grass-type’s shoulder before leaping back, taking away 29 HP from her.
Arlif slowly got up, blood oozing from the deep gash. “I’m… OK,” she said through gritted teeth. “Yoshi, let me use my new move.”
“I was just thinking the same thing,” he responded. “Arlif, Branch Swords!”
The leaf maiden descended into a half crouch, her dress of leaves folding about her feet. Keeping her eyes on her foe, her hands disappeared under her dress. Arlif searched around for a few moments, then became very still.
Arlif used Branch Swords!
THWACK!
1!
It’s Super Effective!!!
Yoshi’s head moved in slow-mo. How did she move that fast?
Lydia had tried spinning out of the way, but inadvertently exposed her back to Arlif. Now, she was kneeling on the deck, blood of her own oozing from a thin cut along the side of her neck. Based purely on the name, Yoshi imagined her weapons to literally be branches. Instead, they looked like ninja blades carved from fine wood and sharpened to perfection.
Arlif swept back the other way and her short swords sliced through the air.
2!
It’s Super Effective!!!
Lydia’s wand clattered to the ground, clutching her wrist.
3!
Critical Hit!
It’s Super Effective!!!
Arlife tossed both ninjatos into the air. They spiralled on their center axes, before she caught them in a reverse grip, plunged the blades into Lydia’s back and pulled them out of her flesh, all within one second. She leaped back, landing in a crouching position, returning the blades to the folds of her leafy dress.
“Frank’s balls, that’s awesome” Yoshi whooped. Lydia was now sitting on her haunches, covering her face with her hands. “You didn’t kill her, did you?”
“Of course not,” Arlif giggled. “But I probably hurt her more than she expected me to.”
Yoshi stared at the bleeding girlfriend. The type advantage really helped. She lost around 55% of her HP from that attack.
“Your move, Mortimer,” Yoshi called from the other side of the ground. A chorus of ‘Ooooohs’ floated around the deck from the younger spectators.
Yoshi smirked. He’s of two minds about what to do. Give her a HP potion and let her get hit with another attack or attack Arlif back.
“Lydia, come here.” The dual-type got to her feet, swayed slightly, then made her way back to her trainer.
Mortimer used Super Potion!
Her HP returned to 100%. Welp, there goes that. But at least now I get another turn… what do I do now? Arlif could use Branch Swords again. It might be enough to finish her, especially if she hit the maximum five times and criticaled a few of those times. If she only hit twice, then she was exposed again. For the sake of winning, it was better to play it safe, call a stronger girlfriend out and dilute the EXP among the three of them than it was to risk Arlif’s move again.
“Arlif, get back.” The grass-type zipped back into her ring. “Soph, go!”
The bird-kin appeared and spun around. “I swear to Frank, if you withdraw me when I’m talking to you one more time, I’m going to rip your–”
“Soph, not now,” Yoshi interjected. “You’re in the middle of a battle.”
She narrowed her eyes and turned around. “Oh it’s a Lydra, like Chester’s.”
Yoshi raised an eyebrow. “He had one too?”
Lydia used Razor Ribbon!
The dual-type dashed at the bird-kin, sweeping down to pick up her wand and launching herself into the air. With her arm raised and the hydro ribbon fluttering behind her, she dove and whipped the wand across Soph’s body.
NAME: Sophie (Soph)
LEVEL: 25
HP: 45/66
Sophie leaped back, feet slipping along the deck, leaving a trail of bloodied feathers in front of her. She stood up, dabbed her thumb in the wound and licked it.
“Rrrrrargh!” She exploded forward, zipping left and right, her Sakura Speedrobe flapping behind her.
“Soph, Fell Swoop!”
Soph crouched and launched herself like she had just bounced off a springboard. She flapped once, twice, three times, giving herself a foot of extra height each time. Lydia raised her arm, trying to get a better look at the flying-type, who was now right in front of the sun. By the time she realized that the Sophie was diving right at her, it was too late.
It’s Super Effective!!!
Soph sprang back to her feet, dusting herself off and leered at Lydia.
“Eat beak, biotch!”
Lydia’s HP was back down, now to about 35%. She lay by the edge of the battleground, struggling to get up.
“Lydia, Flying Heel.”
She eventually got to her feet, her hands resting on her knees through her long dress.
“That’s quite unbecoming my dear, no hunching over. Flying Heel, now.”
“She
s trying, you fucking old, shrivelled-up, pin dick!” Soph squawked. Laughter bubbled around the deck as more people came to Ground 2.
“Soph, focus!” Yoshi shouted.
Lydia used Flying Heel!
Lydia’s Flying Heel missed!
The water/fighting-type’s attack sailed past the flying-type, who simply stepped out of the way. Lydia staggered and overbalanced. Now’s my chance!
“Soph, Dagger Wing!”
The bird-kin flung her arms out. The next moment, they were clad in steel. Like a discus thrower, she drew back, took a step, then another before launching her arm blades across Lydia’s back.
The dual-type cried out, falling to the ground, two train track gashes gouging her back.
Lydia fainted!
Mortimer gripped his cane. “How unfortunate. Return, Lydia.” The prone girlfriend flickered and disappeared back into his ring.
Yoshi looked around. There was quite a crowd now. He smiled to himself. Seems like Soph’s got a few fans. I have to make sure that I say sorry to her later.
He froze. There. That guy. If it wasn’t for the numerous spectators who seemed to collectively shiver and look around uncomfortably, Yoshi wouldn’t have seen him. In the back of the crowd, the hunchbacked guy with silvery-gray hair was looking straight at Yoshi. What is his deal?
“Come out, Clarisse.”
Yoshi blinked. The guy was gone, almost like he had dissolved straight into the air. Standing before him was a new girlfriend he hadn’t seen before. One moment, she would be there, orange flowing hair, seemingly nude body, the next moment she would be gone.
Yoshi frowned, pulling his GF-wiki out, much to Mortimer’s chagrin.
Detecting…
It took a while for it to register, but the details soon populated the screen:
Name: Larissa
Entry #: 80
Species: Fire Sprite
Type: Fire/Ghost
