That Bona Fide Hood Love Page 18

Flipping her over, I pressed her face into the pillow and beat her shit down until I was filling the condom up and she was leaking yet again.

Just as I slid my dick out, I heard a knock at my bedroom door, which caught a nigga off guard. I knew Jamal’s punk ass was staying over at our parents’ spot, so I doubted he was the one there.

I removed the condom and walked to flush it down the toilet before washing my hands and then returning out to my bedroom to slip my boxers back on. Opening my bedroom door, I saw Kasslyn there, in a red dress. It was casual though, nothing fancy, and hugged her body in all the right places.

“You need something?” I quizzed, hearing Alexis move in the bed.

“I was wondering if I could talk to you.”

  “About what?”

“It’s very important, so I’d like to sit down. Maybe I can come inside or we can meet down in the den area.”

“Baby, I’m hungry!” Alexis called out, making Kasslyn’s facial expression shift.

“Oh, I didn’t realize you had company. I can come back later.” Kasslyn quickly turned around and walked off.

I closed the door behind her dramatic ass and then headed over to the bed where Alexis was.

“Who was that bitch?” Thankfully, Alexis didn’t see who I was talking to.

“Get dressed and take yo’ ass home.” I snatched up her jean shorts and top from my floor, then tossed them at her.

“I thought we were gonna have some food fir—”

“You got three minutes to get the fuck up out of here, Alexis.” I was talking to her but already headed toward the bathroom within my bedroom.

I hopped into the shower to clean up, and then brushed, rinsed, and flossed. I put on some sweats, a t-shirt, then hoodie, before slipping on some socks and sneakers near my door. Making my way out, I went straight to the guesthouse in the back to see what it was Kasslyn had to talk to me about.

I had no interest in dealing with her, because I viewed her differently now. I thought her ass was being honest this whole time, and to find out she lied about something as stupid as fuck as being a virgin pissed me off. All the times I’d slid up in her raw, I was jeopardizing my fucking health without knowing. Just the thought of that shit had me hot.

I knocked on the door, wanting to give her ass some privacy, and about fifteen seconds later, she answered. She was still in her dress but had on a zip up hoodie that she wore open.

  “Come in.” She stepped back.

“Thanks.” I waltzed right in and took a seat on the couch. “Aye, so I think that you should definitely look into moving out. Either that or you gon’ have to start paying me $1,000 a month for this spot. I usually rent it out every summer, and Jamal stays in the main house, but I can’t if you gon’ be in here; therefore, you gotta pay up. Let me know what you wanna do.”

Kasslyn stared down at me since she was still standing, and then moments later, she nodded before pushing her hair behind her ears. Just like always, she looked beautiful. Dark skin was flawless as ever, body was on point, and she smelled like some type of soft ass flowers. Virgin or not, I missed fucking her, even though I had plenty of hoes I could slide up in.

“Yeah, I will start looking at some places because I can’t afford that much a month right now.” She sat next to me.

“What happened to the bread I paid you for the damn logo?”

“I still have some of it, but it will eventually run out, Kaseem. I don’t have a revolving income as of yet.”

I nodded, agreeing with her explanation.

“Well yeah, just let me know. Jamal won’t be staying here no more either, so in case y’all plan on rekindling, being here isn’t an option.”

“I don’t plan on rekindling with anyone. Now if you’re done giving me the rundown and regulations, I’d like to say something.” She peered up at me, and I sucked my teeth.

Why was I so damn angry with her lying ass? I wasn’t even this mad with Rhea, and that bitch had done some way worse shit. As for Everly, I barely thought about her ass. Kasslyn stayed on my fucking mind, and I hated the shit.

“Go ahead.” I folded my arms and sat back, waiting.

“Thanks.” She took a deep breath. “So I don’t really know how to say this, but we haven’t been as careful in the bedroom as I’m sure either of us would have liked. And because of that, I’m umm…” She glanced off momentarily. “Because of that I’m going to have a— we’re going to have a baby.”

  “We’re?”

“Yes. That’s usually how people word it, I think.”

“Yeah, when they know who the father is.”

  “Excuse me?”

“How the fuck I know I’m the daddy? Shit, how do you know? One minute you a damn virgin and the next you got exes who you don’ fucked before, just mysteriously popping up on you.”

“I haven’t seen or talked to my ex in years, let alone had sex with him!”

“How the fuck I know that? Yo’ track record shows that you a fucking liar. And how is it that you ain’t seen or talked to the nigga but he just happened to know where the fuck you was?”

“Kaseem, I don’t know. It’s not like he moved away—”

“Oh, he told you he ain’t move away when y’all talked?”

I’d never been this jealous in my life, but right now, I was heated at the thought of her fucking that nigga and having his baby.

“I haven’t talked to him! That night at the club was the first time in years, like I just told you, nigga! The only person I have been fucking lately is you! Now I am pregnant, and it belongs to you.”

“Yeah, well like I said, I don’t know that, so I’m gon’ need some sort of proof that it belongs to me.”

Tears welled up in Kasslyn’s eyes as she shook her head. She wiped the one that fell and looked away for a second before regaining eye contact with me.

“I just really had the wrong idea about you.”

“About me? Fuck out of here. I had the wrong idea about yo’ ass.”

“Yeah, I guess you did. But at least I only made you believe that I was a virgin. You made me believe that you cared about me, that you were a real nigga who handled his responsibilities, and that what you and I were doing was something genuine. I just wish I saw that you were a fraud from the beginning.” Rising before I could say anything, she added, “You can let yourself out, and I will be gone in the next two days.”

I watched Kasslyn walk to the back bedroom and decided to leave it alone. She called me a fraud, and I was liable to choke her ass out, so it was best I go home.

She’d better be gone in two days. No way was she about to be on my property carrying another muthafucka’s baby.

  Kasslyn

  Just four days later…

As promised, I moved out of the guesthouse connected to Kaseem’s home. I had nowhere to go, so I didn’t know why I chose such a quick time for me to move.

Long story short, I ended up on Jane’s doorstep, asking if I could come back. To my surprise, despite me dodging her and her calls, she allowed me in. I was sure it was for the money, but I really didn’t care.

Jane agreed that I could attend classes on their designated days, and that she wouldn’t schedule me for any daytime escorting. I was happy about that because design school was very important to me, even though I’d designed for a company as big as Opulence already and had a few new orders in the queue for smaller companies.

“I’m so happy you’re back.” Leila sat down on my bed as I finished getting dressed. I had class today, and like always, I was excited.

“I thought I would be miserable, and granted it’s only been forty-eight hours, but I’m happy too.” I went to join her on my bed for a second. “I missed you and being comfortable.”

“Are you ever gonna tell me what Kaseem said about the baby, or did you not tell him?” Leila rolled her eyes.

I was ashamed of his response, which was why I’d been putting off telling her anything that had to do with that dreadful conversation
. I honestly didn’t expect Kaseem to react the way he did. I knew he wouldn’t be delighted, considering our current relationship status, but to claim I was pregnant by someone else, let alone Elliot of all people, was absurd.

Rhea knew what she was doing by mentioning him, and now that she’d done so, it was causing unnecessary issues. For that reason alone, I no longer felt bad about beating her ass.

  “He said it’s not his.”

“What? Does he know how sex works?”

Chuckling, I replied, “Yes, Leila, but that bitch Rhea made it sound like I’d been dealing with Elliot, so that coupled with the virgin lie has him suspicious and in denial.”

“Oh hell no. We’re gonna go over the—”

“No, we’re not gonna do whatever it is you were about to say.” I gripped her forearm and brought her back down onto the bed. “I know you’re tough, but Kaseem is no puppy dog. Also, I won’t beg him to do anything. When the baby gets here, he will find out the truth then.” I got back up to pack my purse.

“Humph.” Leila folded her arms. “You’re better than me. I would be over there beating his ass.”

“And what would that do?” I turned to look at her, throwing my bag on.

  “Probably nothing, but still.”

We cackled in unison before we both left my bedroom. I locked up the door, hugged Leila, and then met my Uber outside to head to school since I left the car Kaseem got me at his mansion.

I only had two classes, with each running for a total of three hours. We did a lot of written work, lectures, and tests in the first three, and the second was more hands on stuff. This was only my fifth time coming, and I was really enjoying it. Some lectures were boring as hell though, I will admit.

It was break time for my first class, and since we had thirty minutes, I decided to go to the cafe so I could get a decaf iced macchiato, a sandwich, water, and some almonds. I wanted a honey bun, but I felt like all of that would give my secret away.

Every time I thought about my baby, a bittersweet feeling came over me. I was excited to be a mom, even though this wasn’t the best time, but on the flipside, I hated that the relationship with its father was in the state that it was.

“Okay, that comes to $13.44,” the cashier let me know after ringing me up.

“It’s cool. Just add it to mine.” A tall light-skinned guy walked up. He looked a little thuggish, not the design college type at all, but hey, people from all walks of life went here. “Give me a scone please.” He peeled off some cash for the girl behind the register.

“Oh no, I don’t need you to do that. I have my own money.”

“I hope so.” He smirked. Hmm, very handsome.

“Thank you.” I gave him a closed mouth smile and then went to wait for my things. Once I had them, I went to sit at one of the tables outside to enjoy the sun while I feasted.

“Since I treated you, do you mind if I sit?” The same man approached the table.

“Uh no, it’s the least I can do. I’m Kasslyn.”

“Rod.” He nodded. “I’ve never seen you here; how long you been enrolled?”

“Not long. This is only my fifth time on campus. I attend class twice a week.” I ate some of my sandwich. “No offense, but you don’t give me design vibes.”

“Oh no? What do I give?”

  “Construction, maybe?”

He laughed and shook his head.

“I guess that means I look strong, so thank you. But no, I draw. I know it’s not the most manly thing, but I enjoy it.”

“No, no, I think it’s great.”

Again, we smiled at one another, before I changed the subject. Rod sat with me, just chatting my entire break, and we decided to exchange school emails. He wanted my number, but I wasn’t comfortable with that. Plus, I just wanted a school friend, nothing more.

A few hours later, I was done with both classes, so I went straight home so I could make myself a meal then take a nap.

As I placed the perfectly made tacos onto my plate, Jane entered the kitchen, smiling at me.

“Evening, schoolgirl.” She came closer, inhaling the scent of my food. “Only five tacos? Why not more?”

“Yeah, it’s a lot, I know, but school makes me ravenous.” Jane was the last person I wanted to know that I was pregnant.

“I see. Well I have a date for you tonight.”

“Oh?” Fuck! I was banking on laying up, doing a little design work, and watching TV.

“Yes. He’s an older gentleman, so I don’t think he’s going to want sex, but I didn’t inquire.”

“Jane, you know that’s one of the requirements to take me out.”

“No, it was a requirement. Now that you’re back, you must know that the rules have changed. You give the client what they want, no matter what it is. So if he wants to stick his dick in your ear, then you let him.”

  “No, Jane, I—”

“Yes, you will, Kasslyn, or you will be packing up your things and leaving immediately. And where will you go? Back to Mr. Banks’ place? According to you, he made you move out.”

“Jane, are you jealous that Kaseem and I—”

“Jealous? Honey, please. This is about business.” She moved closer to me. “I have a business to run, and part of that business is making sure my clients are satisfied. So if you cannot get with the program, I will be forced to put you out.”

  “Of course.”

She made an about face and started out of the kitchen but stopped.

“Oh, and I will be interviewing him after to check on your performance. If he gives me anything but kudos, you will pack your things tonight. Understood?”

  “Understood.”

I knew by the look she was giving me that she hated me. She hated me because of Kaseem. Little did she know, he wanted me about as much as he wanted her frail ass.

I didn’t know how I was going to wing tonight without giving it up, but I had to figure something out.

  Date night…

After putting my earrings in, I stared in the mirror, in disbelief that I was back where I’d started, only in worse condition.

Tonight, I had on a tight red dress with matching red stilettos from YSL. I had a red clutch to go with it, and wore all gold jewelry, including my watch. My hair was in beach waves, sweeping my shoulder blades every time I moved.

I waited until Jane came up to let me know my date was here, before I spritzed on some of my Miu Miu perfume. It was one Kaseem had gifted me, and I loved the smell too much to leave it behind. I checked the price when deciding and knew I didn’t want to repurchase myself.

Cutting my light off, I locked up my bedroom and then started down the mezzanine until I reached the top of the stairs. I saw Jane next to my date in the distance, so I descended with a smile on my face like I was taught to. I wore my red lip by Fenty to be sure I made a good impression. As soon as I got close enough to see my date’s face clearly, my stomach dropped to my ankles.

  “Kasslyn, this is—”

“Allen.” I finished her sentence, baffled at the fact that I was face to face with the man who caused my mother to take her own life.

“Uh, yes.” Jane looked confused by the fact that I already knew his name.

“Wow, Kasslyn. You look beautiful.” He grinned.

I was thinking maybe he didn’t remember me, but that was impossible. I was a whole grown teenager when he was in my life, and the brother wasn’t that old. Not to mention, it hadn’t even been ten years since I’d last seen him. He surely remembered me unless he’d been in some sort of accident.

And to make matters worse, Jane always tells your date your name, and even allows them to see a picture of you before agreeing to choose you. By saying that, he knew well before right now that he was going on a date with his dead ex-girlfriend’s daughter.

  “Kasslyn.” Jane interrupted my thoughts.

“Yes, thank you so much. Allen, could you give me a quick second while I have a word with Jane? I promise it won’t be long.”r />
“Sure.” He nodded, giving his approval.

Jane’s face expressed the opposite though as she stepped off to the side and I followed. Once I felt like we were out of earshot, I spoke up.

“Jane, I can’t go on this date with him.”

  “Kasslyn, I told you—”

“He’s the one. The man that drove my mother to commit suicide, remember I told you?” I pleaded for her to understand with my eyes.

When her face softened, I felt a sense of relief.

“Kasslyn, it has been four years, and you’ve had plenty of time to mourn the loss of your mother.”

“It’s not about that. It’s just weird. He was like a father to me for so long.”

“And what am I supposed to do with that? He is paying a lot of money to take you out, so either you walk out of the door with him or walk out of the door alone and do not come back. Quit acting like he’s your father. You’ve gone out with men seven or eight years his senior before.”

  “Ja—”

“Either you go or get the hell out. Grow up and quit acting like a damn child who has to get what she wants by using her dead mother as an excuse.”

I felt the heat rising inside of my body and urging me to go across Jane’s face. But I had to remember that I had no job outside of this one, and even if I found one, it wouldn’t pay enough for me to start from scratch all the while having a baby. So, I would go on this date, but I would surely be getting the fuck out of here as soon as possible.

“Yes ma’am,” was all I said as I treaded back over to Allen with a smile.

He put his arm out, and I hooked mine around it, allowing him to lead me outside and to his nice BMW. He opened the door for me, and I slid in, then waited for him to join me.

“Would you like the heat on?” he inquired, buckling up after starting the nice smelling car.

  “No, actually, I’m fine.”

It was strange to me that he was acting like he didn’t know me, but maybe it was for the best.

Allen talked about why he felt the need to hire an escort the whole way to the restaurant. He claimed it was because he worked so much and hadn’t had time to meet someone that he wanted to take out. He was way too busy to court anyone and felt an escort fit his lifestyle since he could drop in and out of her life with no issue. That made me feel sick, thinking about him possibly coming back to take me out again.
