“Give me the gun!” she demanded.
“I’m not doing this anymore. You don’t get to punish me ever again, you sick fuck! This,” I pointed around the room, “This is done! I never want to hear from you ever again. I don’t even want to know that you still breathe the same oxygen I do!”
I lowered my voice. “Now, I am going to walk out of this house, and I will never, never hear from you again, understood?”
“You really think that this will be the end of me?” she asked, not moving.
“You can live your life on this Earth however you choose without contacting my family, or you can live it in Hell. Your choice, but you’re no longer making my life a living Hell. I’ve had enough.”
“Get out!” she yelled at me. I grabbed my backpack and put it around one shoulder, keeping the gun pointed at her. I walked around her and out the door, then ran downstairs and opened the door.
“You bastard child! This isn’t over!” she yelled at me as I closed the door. I shoved the gun into my backpack and hooked my other arm through the strap.
Now what? I stepped down the couple of steps and began walking. I didn’t know what would happen next, but right now there was a faint light at the end of my tunnel and I was running towards it.
I grabbed my phone and called the only person who would ever believe me.
Chapter Sixteen
“Are you sure you want to know the sex?” Stefan asked on the way to our doctor appointment.
“Yes.” I folded my arms, prepared for a fight. He wanted to wait until right when they baby was born. I, on the other hand, was not very patient and refused to wait.
“I’m just saying...it would be a fun surprise.”
“I hate surprises.”
I looked at the window. We had already waited longer than necessary to find out the sex of the baby. It was now April, and I was due in May...we could have found out a lot sooner.
We pulled into the parking space at the doctor’s office. Stefan put the car in park and opened my door before I could get my seat belt completely unbuckled. He grabbed my hand and wrapped his fingers around mine as we made our way into the building.
Once we were back in the room, I laid down and pulled my shirt up, waiting for the doctor.
“Hello!”
We both turned towards the door to see Dr. Morgan walk into our room. Stefan reached his hand out and gently shook hers.
“How are we doing?” she asked as she walked around, getting the sonogram machine started.
“We’re doing good,” I answered as Stefan grabbed my hand.
“Ready to see the baby?” she asked as she squeezed the cold gel onto the lower part of my stomach.
“More then ever.” I smiled.
She put the wand on my stomach—I had a defined belly bump now— and started spreading the gel around. Stefan and I both looked at the sonogram machine, waiting to see our little bean.
“Here we go,” Dr. Morgan said as our baby came into sight on the screen. “Here’s the baby. Looks very healthy.”
I smiled, and part of me wanted to cry. Seeing something that was created out of love was a miracle, something I would always treasure. My belly was doing flips as I saw the baby kicking and moving around on the screen. It was a truly magical feeling.
“Are we wanting to know the sex yet?” Dr. Morgan asked, looking at us for approval.
“Yes!” I blurted out, not giving Stefan a moment to object. “I’m sorry.” I laughed. “We are ready to know.” Stefan smiled at me and squeezed my hand.
“Not sure, Dad?” Dr. Morgan asked.
“Not sure,” Stefan replied in a whisper.
“How about this. I will write it down on a piece of paper, and you two can decide the perfect moment to look at it. How’s that?”
I inwardly screamed. I wasn’t sure how much longer I could wait, but I smiled at Stefan. Compromise.
“Sounds perfect.” Stefan smiled, showing his approval.
“Okay, if you two would turn your head, I’ll see what this baby is, then write it down.” We both turned our heads towards the white wall next to us.
After a moment, we turned our heads back, and Dr. Morgan folded up the paper and handed it to me. I tried to grab it, but Stefan snatched it out of my hand. “I’ll hold onto this.” He smiled at me. It took everything in me not to reach over and slap that grin off his face.
“We are still on track for the due date. Your baby looks very healthy right now. You have about a month until due date, so I would start finishing up last minute tasks and getting prepared,” Dr. Morgan said as she wiped the gel off my belly.
“Thank you.” I smiled at her.
“You’re very welcome. I will see you back next week. You two take care.” She smiled as she exited the room. I unlinked my hand with Stefan’s and pulled my shirt down and set up.
“Ready to go?” Stefan asked.
“Yes.”
“Okay, let me see the paper.”
I walked over the couch and sat down. I was like a kid on Christmas morning.
Stefan sat down next to me and pulled the paper out his pocket. “Why do you want to know so bad?” he asked, fingering the paper.
“Why do you not want to know?” I countered.
“Because then...then it’s real.”
“It’s already pretty real to me.” I rubbed my stomach. It’s different when you’re able to feel the baby move around and kick.
“Okay.” He breathed out. “Ready?” I nodded and practically jumped out of my spot on the couch. I watched his facial expressions for a clue as he read the paper, but nothing gave hint to a boy or a girl.
“Tell me!” I blurted out.
“Girl...”
His eyes met mine.
“It’s a girl?” I jumped up.
“Yes.”
“Oh my gosh!” I started laughing and jumped on him, wrapping my arms around his neck. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist, squeezing me tight.
“I’m glad you’re happy, baby.”
“Thank you for giving me the most perfect life.” I met his eyes with mine.
“You’re the one who gave me the perfect life. I couldn’t imagine it turning out any other way.” He leaned in and kissed me.
“I need to call Kennedy.” I leaned up. “And you need to call your mother.” I couldn’t stop smiling.
“Let the endless shopping begin,” Stefan said as I stood to my feet.
I smiled at him as I grabbed my phone. “I can’t wait to start buying things for little Annabelle!”
“Annabelle?” Stefan asked as he stood up, walking towards the kitchen.
“What?” I whipped around, facing him. “You said Annabelle.”
“No. No, I didn’t.” Oh shit.
“Yes, you did. You’ve already named her?” He was digging in the cabinets for food.
“No, I just thought of it.” I had my phone in my hands, ready to call Kennedy.
“Aren’t we supposed to make these decisions together?” he asked, finding a bag of chips.
“It’s not set in stone, Stefan. I just thought of it, and I really love it.” I turned around and walked out the back door, closing it behind me.
I sat down in a chair and dialed Kennedy’s number. It rang a couple of times before she picked up.
“Hello!” She was laughing and sounded out of breath.
“Kennedy? What are you doing?”
“Stop it, Ayden! Yes, it’s Jen...okay I get it!” There was a pause. “Get out of here, you pussy! Ha! Okay, baby.” I waited. “Sorry, Jen. What’s up?”
“What was that all about?”
“Ayden, we were wrestling before you called and I pretty much won, so...”
“Kneeing him in his balls don’t count, Ken.”
“DOES TOO! Plus, he had me pinned down and was tickling me. I had no choice. Fight or flight, Jennifer.” I could tell she was smiling. “Okay, I’m setting down now. What’cha doing?”

I’ve got some exciting news.”
“You and Stefan are moving us to Bora Bora?” She sounded hopeful.
“No.”
“Ugh! Okay, well no matter what you say, now it won’t be as good.”
“Found out the sex of the baby today.”
“You did? Okay...spill it, chica. Will I have a niece or a nephew?”
“You will have...”
Stefan opened the back door. His shirt was off and he looked delicious standing there in just a pair of jeans. He winked at me and pointed towards the bedroom. I held up my first finger and mouthed hang on.
“Tell ass clown to get out of there so you can talk to me!” Kennedy yelled in my ear.
Go call your mom, I mouthed. He slumped his shoulders and closed the door. “I’m sorry, where was I?”
“Girl or boy? Jennifer, you can have sex with your husband after we get off the phone!”
“Girl,” I half whispered.
“You’re having a girl?” Her voice was on the edge of excitement.
“Yes.”
“OH MY GOD!!!! Ayden! Ayden, they’re having a girl! ... No, dumb ass, Jennifer and Stefan. They’re having a girl ... Ayden said to tell his cuz congrats. I am so happy! A little girl. What are you going to name her?”
“I really like Annabelle Marie.” I rubbed my stomach as she started moving around, giving me instant butterflies.
“I really like that name too. Does Stefan?”
I rolled my eyes. “I accidentally mentioned it and he kind of freaked out.”
“Well, who cares? I think it’s a beautiful name, and I know he will love it too. Just have to give him time. Well I’ll let you go eat your delicious husband now. Don’t choke.” Kennedy started laughing.
“Kennedy!” I couldn’t help but laugh with her as I walked back into the house. “Gah! Shut up.”
“Love ya.” She was still laughing.
“Love ya too, sis,” I said before hanging up. I looked over at the kitchen and saw Stefan sitting on the counter, talking on his cell phone, his feet swinging back and forth.
“Yes, Mom. We are both very excited. She can’t wait ... I have to come down there for business in a couple of weeks. I was planning on going by myself, but I’ll have to bring Jennifer down there so everyone can see her.”
“Are they coming up here for the birth?” I whispered to him.
“Mom, Jennifer wants to know if you guys plan on coming up here when the baby is born?” He nodded his head after a moment and looked at me. I nodded.
“Alright, Mom. I love you too.” He hung up the phone. “Task completed.” He hopped down off the counter and walked over to me, spreading my legs apart. “It’s amazing how well I fit between your legs.” He ran his hands up and down over my jeans.
“It’s amazing how well my legs fit around you.” I wrapped my arms around his waist.
“You are so sexy.” He nuzzled my neck.
“I am so pregnant.” I didn’t feel sexy anymore with this growing baby bump, but Stefan reminded me every day.
“You’re glowing all the time.” He put his mouth on mine, giving me a passionate kiss, his tongue separating my lips. He lifted my shirt over my head, our lips parting and then coming back together like a magnet. I started undoing his belt and pulled his jeans and boxers down as far as I could. His hard cock sprang out of his pants. I wrapped my hand around it as he sighed a deep heavy breath into my mouth.
“Baby,” he whispered against my mouth. I began slowly stroking him, enjoying the way he felt in my hand.
He quickly unbuttoned my jeans and pulled them off. His hand crept up my inner thigh, burning a hot trail until he reached my core. We were both panting as he slipped a finger inside me and then another.
He began moving his fingers around, playing with my G spot as his mouth sucked on my nipple. I fingered the tip of his cock as a bead of come came out. I rubbed around his head applying the softest pressure.
Stefan picked me up and placed me on the counter. His eyes burned with love...
Lust...
“I need you, baby. I need to be inside of you.”
I opened my legs wider and leaned back on my hands. “What are you waiting for?” I cocked a smile at him.
“God, you’re fucking beautiful. Fucking beautiful and all mine!” He rammed into me, causing me to cry out. My head fell back as each thrust became harder and deeper. I wrapped my legs around his waist and locked my ankles, trying to stable myself. “You feel so amazing. God, you’re fucking drenched.”
“Harder!” I cried out. “Don’t stop!”
“Come for me, baby. Let it go.” Stefan’s hands were digging into my hips, but there was no pain. Only pure pleasure as my orgasm to hit me hard. I cried out Stefan’s name as I titled my head up and met Stefan’s stormy grey eyes.
Stefan kept his pace, pulling my hips to meet his with each thrust. We were both breathing hard, sweat forming on our bodies. When I could no longer feel my arms I raised them up and hung them on Stefan’s shoulders, my nails digging into his back. I moaned and cried as I felt myself leap into Sea of Stefan. Stefan gave one more hard thrust, pumping himself into me.
He relaxed his head on my chest as I tried to control my breathing.
“I don’t think I could love you anymore than I do right now,” Stefan said, kissing the top of my breast. I smiled as he pulled himself out of me and grabbed a dish towel out of the drawer. He ran it under warm water and cleaned himself before walking over and cleaning me.
Stefan kissed me, then picked up all of our clothes, including the dishtowel, and started walking to the back. “I’m going to take a quick shower before dinner, babe.” He disappeared into the hallway.
I walked into the bedroom and grabbed one his t-shirts and a pair of my hot pink, lace boyshorts. I had just pulled my hair up into a messy bun when the doorbell rang.
“Coming!” I hollered as I walked out of the bedroom to the front door. I stood on my tippy toes and looked out the peephole...nobody. That was strange. I opened the door and looked around, nobody was around.
I went to close the door when my eyes caught something. Sitting on my front porch was a vase with flowers in it. I picked them up and looked around as I carried them inside. I shut the door with my foot as I searched for a card.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” I heard Stefan say.
I found the card and read the note out loud.
*Looking forward to our reunion.
XO Dad*
My knees were weak and the vase suddenly weighed a million pounds. It almost slipped out of my hand, but Stefan pulled it away from me.
“How fucked up in this head is this guy?” Stefan said, helping me to the barstool.
“Please, Stefan,” I whispered.
“No! When it comes to my wife and my daughter, I am not sitting back and letting you handle it. I’ll be damned if he thinks he is going to take you from me.” Stefan threw the flowers in the trash along with the vase.
“I’m going to bed.” I picked my body up and walked towards my bedroom. I climbed up on our bed and pulled the covers over my body. Stefan climbed in beside me and hugged my body to his as he kissed my hair.
“He’ll never stop until he gets me, Stefan. Let’s just face it,” I whispered, a tear falling down my cheek.
“I’ll never stop until I get him, Jennifer. I am going to protect you until my last breath.”
My body tensed at his words. “Stefan, shut up.” He tightened his grip around my waist and nuzzled his head into the back of my neck.
I had to protect my husband and our unborn child...our daughter. Maybe if I talked to my dad and got through to him, we could coexist in the same world. Another tear rolled down my cheek—these could be the last couple of days in a peaceful home. I turned over and snuggled into Stefan’s chest as our breathing evened and eventually sleep overtook me.
Chapter Seventeen
When I woke up, Stefan was just getting out of the shower.
Steam billowed out of the bathroom while the early morning sunshine put just a hint of a glow on him.
“Good morning.” I yawned.
“Good morning, baby.” He walked over and sat down on the bed, giving me a kiss. I licked my lips with the left over water. “What are you doing today?”
“I have to do a little bit of work, then I’m going to run to the baby store and order furniture.”
“Without me?” He got up off the bed and walked over to the dresser.
“I didn’t think guys were into that type of thing.”
His towel dropped, revealing his tight, hot ass. I got goose bumps as I felt the tightening start between my legs. “Well maybe I am.” He fished out some black boxer briefs.
“Then come with me today.”
“I have seven different meetings. But if I could, I would.” Stefan winked at me as he walked into the closet.
Stefan emerged a couple of minutes later fully clothed in his light grey Armani suit. He was straightening his black skinny tie.
The doorbell rang, and my eyes instantly shot towards Stefan. “Who is that?”
“It’s just Charles, babe. I’m riding with him.” He walked over to the bed and leaned over to kiss me. I pulled the covers down, revealing my naked body. His hands floated over my skin making it hot.
“Stay home.” I ran my fingers through his hair.
“Don’t tempt me.” He growled. “I am so in love with you. You are my soul.”
I smiled. “You are my soul.”
“Our souls are intertwined, we are one.”
I felt my skin grow hot waiting for him to take me, but my body became cold as he pulled away. He laughed and gave me a quick kiss on my forehead.
“Stay!” I said as he made his way to the door.
“Tempting.” He shot me a quick smile and was out the door. Not long after I heard the front door open and close.
The house was suddenly empty, and I was lonely.
After a successful day picking out furniture for Annabelle, I returned home to once again find flowers on my front door with another card.
