Shit!
I slammed another shot of whiskey back and headed to my bedroom.
“Charles?” He came out of his bedroom with his laptop.
“Jennifer, here is what I know already.” I handed him a paper with some notes and a picture of her. “I want to know everything about her by tomorrow morning,” I said as I walked into my bedroom.
“Yes, sir,” he replied, both of us closing our doors.
I pulled off my clothes, leaving only my boxers on when my phone dinged.
U NEED ME TONIGHT? I NEED U.
I turned my screen off on my iPhone and tossed it on the bed, Maddelyn wouldn’t make Jennifer’s face disappear from my head, no matter what she did. Jennifer was the only one who could make my hard on go away.
I stuck my headphones into my iPhone jack and put them in my ears, letting John Mayer clear my head and let me get a couple of hours of sleep before I had to go into the office again tomorrow.
One thing I was certain of, Jennifer was mine, and it wasn’t going to take long before she knew that and I had her, all to myself. This was the woman I’d wished for growing up. She would be the one to renew me, to bring me back from this fucked up black hole I’d fallen into. Not only would she belong to me, but I would belong to her.
I already did.

Jennifer, my editor, my anchor, my everything- Like I haven’t told you enough, but you are a freaking superwoman! You have taught me so much about this industry and have always been my calming voice in this hurricane storm. Thank you for helping me and sometimes holding my hand and walking me through all the steps-again. I can honestly say, I could NEVER accomplish this without you.
