OLD MAN MALONE RETURNS Page 30

by Marianne Spitzer

“That it would, what are you going to do?” Taylor lowered her eyes and tightened her hold on Kellie’s hand.

“This is what he wants; I’m not going to fight him. If he wanted to try again he would have called me before filing. I’m going to go on with life.” She shrugged.

“I’m sorry, Kellie. Look, they’re beginning.”

The young women held hands as they watched the wrecking ball make the initial strike on the outer wall of the Malone mansion attic. It took less time than either expected to bring the house down. Randy’s crew promised to clean it up, and the lot would look as natural as the church lot did after they dismantled the bell tower. Perhaps people will forget the old man lived there and his horror will be laid to rest forever.

“Let’s go have a drink, Taylor. I think it’s time to celebrate the start of my new life.”

Thank you for reading my book. I hope you enjoyed it. For more information on my books and future Kellie Conley Mysteries and short story mysteries please visit my Amazon site Marianne Spitzer on Amazon or my blog Musings Under the Willow Tree.

The book Kellie is reading in Chapter Eighteen, Deep Connections, by Rebecca Graf is an actual book and one of my favorites. It’s a supernatural thriller. The main character, Brenna, is torn between the affections of two men when her life becomes more complicated by a stalker. If you love mystery, suspense, and the supernatural, don’t miss this book.
