Cole jerked away from me as someone suddenly began talking nearby, leaving me breathless and with my cock hard enough to hammer nails. I'd been so consumed by the taste and feel of him that I'd completely forgotten we were in public. The look in his eyes told me that he was just as affected as I was by our kiss and damned if that didn't make me feel all kinds of proud.
He looked flustered as he searched wildly around him. He looked at me one more time before rushing into the changing room, swiftly shutting the door. With no other choice, I went to my own room and quickly changed back into my work clothes.
By the time I was finished, Cole had completely vanished. As disappointed as I was, I knew I needed to give him a little time to process everything that had happened. After all, I was his brother's best friend, and this was all happening fairly quickly. Still, I wasn't going to give him long. One taste simply wasn't enough.
Chapter Six
MILES
Our glasses clinked together as we raised them in a toast. Of course, I’d never been much of a drinker, most likely the result of having a drunk for a dad, so my glass contained Coke instead of the tequila everyone else was having.
Jayce’s other groomsmen had arrived that afternoon. We’d decided to meet up at their hotel suite for a few drinks and spend a little time getting to know each other before heading out to the bars. Turner, Chase, and Phillip were just as nice as Jayce had described them. Seeing him with the guys he'd known in college, it was easy to see why they'd become such good friends. They were all friendly and outgoing and fun to hang out with. Of course, we had a good time exchanging funny and embarrassing stories about Jayce, who laughed at himself good-naturedly.
With all four of them living in different areas on the map, it would've been easy for them to lose touch after college, but clearly, they hadn't allowed that to happen, staying involved in each other's lives through group texts and phone calls. It made me happy to see Jayce surrounded by so much love during this special time in his life.
My eyes flicked over to Cole as he finished downing his drink. He shuddered once as he swallowed but then grinned at his brother. It was hard, hiding my reaction when I saw what Cole was wearing. His ass teased me in a pair of form-fitting black jeans, and the green silk shirt he wore, while matching the color of his eyes perfectly, fit him like a second skin, leaving nothing to the imagination about the tight little body underneath.
I wanted nothing more than to grab him and pick back up where we'd left off, but with Jayce and his buddies all watching, I resisted the urge. Besides, I hadn't spoken to Cole since that hotter than hell kiss, so I had no idea what he thought about any of it. It certainly seemed as if he'd enjoyed himself with those sexy little noises he'd made and the lightning speed in which his body had responded. I just hoped he wasn't having any regrets, because I certainly wasn't.
“Okay, so before we head out to the bars, Miles and I thought that you might need a few extra things to help celebrate the end of your bachelorhood,” Cole announced.
“Oh God. I’m afraid to look. What the hell was I thinking asking you two to plan this thing together?” Jayce teased.
“I’ll have you know we found some really amazing items. Didn’t we, Miles?” Cole turned to me, his green eyes flashing with mischief. It was the first time he’d spoken to me since I’d arrived, and my body thrummed with delight over having his attention directed at me.
“Uh, yeah. We got a little creative, but I think you’ll appreciate our efforts.”
Jayce narrowed his eyes as they flicked back and forth between the two of us. “I’ll let you know once I see what the items are.”
Cole grabbed the bags from where he’d set them behind a chair and walked back over to our group. I snorted out a laugh as Jayce’s eyes widened when he saw the bags, making it quite clear he was familiar with the Ace’s Wild logo on the outside of them. He looked over at me warily, and I waggled my eyebrows at him, smiling widely. I could only imagine what was running through his mind at that point.
Jayce had always been a good sport, though, and he began laughing as Cole pulled the items out one by one, starting with the boob glasses and ending with the giant, penis-shaped hat. He quickly swapped out the shirt he was wearing for the one we’d gotten him with the bikini clad woman on the front then added the other sex-themed accessories. There were loud whistles and catcalls as he paraded around the room, showing off his outfit as if he were some model on a runway.
I found my gaze drawn to Cole as he wiped tears from the corners of his eyes, his laughter ringing out around the room. My lips curled up into a smile as he began telling the other guys about some of the wilder things we’d seen while shopping that day. He spoke animatedly, using his hands to show how big some of the items had been.
I got the feeling of being watched, and swung my gaze around the room, sucking in a quick breath when my eyes connected with my best friend. Jayce’s head tilted to the side as he watched me. Shit! Fortunately, he didn’t look angry, only curious, as his gaze moved from me to his brother. I wondered if my expression gave anything away, like the feelings I was starting to develop for Cole. Because there were feelings involved, at least on my end.
Even though I hadn’t been ready to admit it to myself back when we were teens, I’d always had a crush on him. Seeing him as an adult, getting to know the incredible man he was, spending time with him and really talking with him...I was helpless to stop myself from falling for him. And that, in and of itself, scared the hell out of me. I had no idea how Cole felt about me, and I knew there was a very real possibility that I could end up getting my heart broken. Either way, I wasn’t quite ready to talk about it with Jayce. Thankfully, Phillip chose that moment to speak up.
“Okay, guys. Our boy Jayce here only has a week left before he is forever wearing a ball and chain, albeit a gorgeous ball and chain, but a ball and chain nonetheless.”
“Hey, now. Watch how you’re talking about my woman,” Jayce joked.
Everyone laughed as Phillip continued. “As his best friends and family, it is our job to make sure he enjoys this night to its fullest, and that includes copious amounts of alcohol. That’s why I took the liberty of hiring a limo to drive us around tonight.”
I grinned at the excitement on Jayce’s face as he grabbed Phillip and gave him a hug, slapping him on the back as he thanked him. My eyes automatically searched out Cole, and I was surprised to see him staring at me. He looked away quickly, but not before I saw the pretty blush that stained his cheeks.
After grabbing our coats, we all headed down to the lobby then climbed into the back of the long, black limousine. Our first stop was a small bar that played terrible music but served the best whiskey sours, according to the rest of the guys who had two each. The next one we visited had better music, but the guys claimed the drinks tasted watered down. A couple of hours and several drinks later, Jayce and his college friends were feeling pretty good. They reached the point in their drinking where everything seemed funny to them, and I found their antics quite amusing.
I’d noticed Cole had switched over to drinking water at the last place we’d been to, and while he was nowhere near as tipsy as the other guys, the alcohol had definitely made him more relaxed than I'd ever seen him; laughing, talkative, and with his guard completely down. I found this new version of him extremely charming.
Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one who'd noticed his appeal. I caught quite a few men and women eyeing him throughout the night and each time, fought back the growl that threatened to come out of my chest, which was ridiculous. I had no claim on him; although, I couldn't deny that a part of me wished I did.
“They’re terrible,” I said as I sidled up next to him at the back of the bar. His head whipped around in surprise at the sound of my voice, but he recovered quickly.
“Yeah, I’ve heard cats in heat that sounded better.” We laughed as we looked up at the stage where Jayce and Turner were belting out a horrible rendition of some ‘90s boy band hit
. Chase and Phillip were acting as their backup dancers. That is, if what they were attempting to do could even be considered dancing.
“I noticed you stopped drinking.”
Cole looked down at his glass of water and then back at me with an embarrassed little smile. “I don’t drink very often, so it doesn’t take much to really go to my head. I figured I better slow down. My brother sure seems to be enjoying himself, though.”
“Yeah, I think he’s happy with how his bachelor party turned out.” We both winced as Jayce screeched out the final note, and then we joined in the applause of the audience; although, whether it was because they’d liked them or because it was finally over, I couldn't be sure. I guess that depended on how much they’d had to drink themselves.
“Did you see that?” Jayce exclaimed as he ran over to us, nearly tripping over a woman’s purse that was laying on the floor near her chair.
“They loved us, man,” Chase slurred, tossing an arm around Jayce’s shoulder.
“Dudes, we should totally start a band,” Phillip exclaimed. I chuckled as they all started shouting out possible names for their band at once.
“Think they’ll remember any of this in the morning?” Cole whispered, his words dripping with amusement.
I shook my head. “Not a chance.”
“Hey, let’s get out of here. I feel like dancing.” My eyes widened at Jayce’s suggestion. He’d always told me he hated dancing because he had two left feet. If the look on his brother’s face was any indication, he was just as surprised as I was.
Cole shrugged his shoulders indulgently. “This is your night, bud. If that’s what you want to do, then we’ll do it.”
Jayce leaned over and gave him a sloppy, wet kiss on the cheek. “This is why you’re my favorite brother.”
“I’m your only brother,” Cole pointed out as he wiped his cheek with the back of his hand.
“I’ll go take care of the tab, if you want to try to wrangle these guys into the limo,” I told him. He nodded his head gratefully then got to work corralling the four guys who seemed determined to wander off in the opposite direction of the front door. I made sure he got outside then went to the bartender to settle our bill.
I chose a club next, since Jayce wanted to dance. I hadn’t been there before, but I’d heard about it from a friend. It had opened just a few months before and was very popular, if the number of people inside were any indication. The dance floor was full of men and women dancing together, as well as women with other women, and men with men, all of them sweating and grinding to the beat of the loud, thumping music.
Cole ordered Jayce and his friends another round, then they disappeared into the throng of dancers as he handed me a water. My fingers purposefully brushed over his as I took the glass, and it felt like an electric current rushing over my skin.
I leaned down, my mouth right next to his ear. “I’ve been hoping to get a moment alone with you all night.” Despite the pulsing music, I could hear his sharp intake of air, reminding me of the way he’d responded to my kiss, and I was glad I’d decided to just tell him how I felt.
“Me too,” he whispered, his breath ghosting across the side of my cheek.
I pulled back so I could see him better. His eyes had turned a dark, mossy color, and his cheeks were flushed, and I suspected it was from both the heat of the club and his arousal. His bottom lip was wet and red, as if he’d been biting it, and I swallowed thickly, looking over his shoulder to where Jayce and the others were dancing.
“Do you want to dance?” I would’ve rather asked if I could kiss him again, but with his brother and my best friend nearby, I would have to do with simply holding him close instead.
Cole nodded his head, so I took both of our drinks and set them on the bar before taking his hand and leading him onto the dance floor. I pulled him into the crowd, giving us a bit of privacy from our friends then turned to face him. His eyes searched my face as I tugged him in close and placed my hands on his hips. His hands went to my biceps as we started to move. I was pleased to find that unlike his brother, he was a great dancer.
The smell of sweat and pheromones hung heavy in the air, creating an intoxicating environment for the things I was already feeling. I wanted to pull him in closer, to feel his body rubbing up on mine, but I didn’t dare for fear that Jayce would see. Instead, I simply enjoyed finally having him to myself. We danced our way through three more songs, then Cole said he needed a drink of water.
“I’ll go get us some,” I offered.
“Thanks. I’m just going to use the restroom.”
As he walked away, my eyes strayed to his jeans clinging to his perfect bubble butt. He turned and looked at me over his shoulder, as if he knew I was watching. Not that it was too hard to imagine. After all, I’d been drawn to him like a moth to a flame ever since I’d seen him again. My heart pounded wildly as he gave me a flirtatious wink. I stood there, smiling like a loon as he disappeared into the crowd.
Someone bumped into me, shaking me out of my stupor and reminding me that I was supposed to be getting drinks. As I waited for the bartender to get our waters, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned, expecting to see Cole, but instead, I was met with a very sweaty, very smiley Phillip.
“Hey, I remember you. You’re Chase’s friend.”
“Jayce’s,” I corrected, trying to hide my amusement as his face fell.
“Yeeeaaah. That’s the one.” I reached a hand out to steady him when he started to sway backwards.
Turner walked up just then. He gave me a lopsided grin, but he looked a little more sober than Phillip. “Hey, man. Jayce is pretty wasted, so I texted Evelynn and told her he could just sleep it off back at our hotel.” I looked over his shoulder at where Chase was basically holding my best friend up. He looked like he was in pretty bad shape, and I didn’t envy the headache he was bound to have the next day.
I scratched a hand over my jaw, looking over in the direction of the restrooms. “Um, yeah, okay. Just give me a few minutes. Cole just left to go to the bathroom.”
“No need. We can take care of Jayce. You two stay and keep having fun.” He gave me a little wink that made me think he might have seen me and Cole dancing together, but before I could come up with a response, he turned and walked away.
A few minutes later, I spotted Cole heading my way, his forehead wrinkled as he looked around. “Sorry it took so long, there was a line at the bathroom. Have you seen Jayce or his friends?” he asked once he was standing near me.
I handed him his water and he took a quick drink. “Yeah, they headed back to the hotel. Apparently, Jayce was pretty trashed, so they’re going to let him sleep it off there.”
Cole set his glass on a nearby empty table. “Oh, okay. I guess we better go then.” My pulse raced at the disappointment in his voice. Maybe he’s not ready to see the night end either, I thought hopefully.
“Ooor…” I said, drawing the word out.
“Or?”
His eyes met mine and held and I felt it—that special spark of something I always felt whenever he was around. “Or we could stay, and I could dance with you the way I’ve really wanted to all night.”
“That...that sounds good,” Cole responded huskily, and my cock stirred to life as his eyes darted down to my lips.
Grinning, I pulled him up against me and brushed my lips over his. “Get your sexy little ass on the dance floor.” Then I gave his butt a quick swat. He yelped in surprise, but I could see the eagerness in his eyes as he took my hand and led the way.
A slow song started as we reached the middle of the dance floor, and I spun him around to face me. His arms circled around the back of my neck, and I pulled him in closer, my hands splayed along his hips as we began to move. I leaned down, sliding my nose along his cheek and filling my lungs with the intoxicating scent of him; clean sweat, bodywash, and Cole.
He moaned as I kissed along his jawline, tilting his head back to grant me access to his throat. “Do you have any idea
what you do to me?” I asked then I slid the tip of my tongue up his exposed flesh.
I bit down on the soft part between his neck and shoulder as he let out a breathy response. “No.”
“You drive me fucking crazy, that’s what. Every minute, of every day, all I can think about lately is you. I can’t sleep; I’m making stupid mistakes at work…Christ, I can’t even talk to your brother anymore without wondering when I’ll get to see you again.” I inhaled a deep breath, wondering if I’d said too much, but then he grabbed my face and kissed me. An earth-shattering, mind-bending, all-consuming kiss that I felt to the depths of my soul, and I knew in that instant that Cole Morris had ruined me for any other man.
We were both breathing heavy by the time we ended the kiss. The music switched over to something hot and sultry with a pulsing beat that sounded the way sex felt. I kissed him again, my tongue dipping between his parted lips, tasting his sweetness again. My hands slid down, cupping his firm ass and kneading the firm globes with my fingers.
My vision went a little fuzzy as I felt his solid erection pressing against my own, and he trembled in my arms. I spun him around and pressed my hard length against the curve of his ass, grinding my hips against him in a smooth, slow motion that had a drop of sweat rolling down the side of his face. My tongue darted out, catching the drop before it could disappear and rolling the sweet/salty flavor around in my mouth. I closed my eyes and moaned. He tasted fucking delicious, and I couldn’t wait to taste him everywhere.
Cole suddenly gasped in my arms, and I opened my eyes. He was staring at something across the room, and I looked in that direction, finding two men, their eyes brimming with desire as they openly observed us. I was about to ask Cole if he wanted to leave, but then I noticed, the slightly unfocused look in his eyes, the way his chest heaved as he panted, and the pounding of his pulse at the base of his throat. Fuuuuck. This guy is going to be the death of me.
