My patient wife, who has had to deal with my “I’m writing a book” monologues, gave invaluable feedback as a reader. Her support was critical in getting through this book and its innumerable iterations. My young daughter, who surreptitiously read paragraphs standing behind my back, as I refused to let her read the chapters—because—well it is not for kids! But her questions, comments brought boundless joy as writing is no easy endeavor. She has many questions about Deon and Eurydice, and I tell her to grow up before I can answer.
